## What is Metrya?

Metrya turns Apple Health data into clear, private AI insights. Analyze HRV, sleep, recovery, stress and training directly on your iPhone - no servers, no accounts. With your own Claude / OpenAI / Gemini key, Metrya acts as a personal health and longevity coach, asking "why am I tired?" or "is my HRV trending down?" and answering with data-grounded advice.

Built for privacy, Metrya processes every metric on your iPhone. Your health data never touches our servers.

Core features (free forever):
Apple Health dashboard: Steps, sleep stages, heart rate, HRV, resting HR, SpO2, body temperature, body composition, VO2 max and workouts - synced automatically across the last 30 days.
Daily Recovery Score: A 0-100 score calculated on-device from HRV vs your personal baseline, resting HR, sleep duration, deep and REM sleep quality, and 3-day HRV trend.
Reserve: A body battery that drains as you stay awake and refills only when you genuinely rest.
Sentinel: Overnight temperature, resting HR, HRV, breathing and sleep continuity fused into one signal - Clear, Watch or Alert - before you feel it.
Weekly Reports: Your week ranked and read back to you - Night, Recovery and Output, each metric sorted by which way it moved. Plus a body composition trend, and BMI shown only beside waist-to-height, body fat and FFMI.
Sleep and Training detail: a scrubbable hypnogram with overnight heart rate and a 7-night sleep debt ledger; heart-rate curves, zones and load for every workout.
Stress Monitor: Autonomic strain from your Watch's HRV, scored against your own range, not a population average.
Smart anomaly alerts: A 30-day personal baseline for 8 key metrics flags significant deviations, correlated with nearby events like alcohol, travel or hard training.
Biological Age: Estimated from cardiovascular fitness, sleep quality, metabolic markers and activity level, benchmarked against age-group averages with a plain-language explanation.
Set Commitments for steps, sleep, HRV, weight and more, with automatic streaks and badges.
Hydration and caffeine tracking, an Apple Watch app with complications, Home Screen widgets and a full Dark Mode.
Total privacy: No backend servers. No accounts.

Metrya Pro (lifetime unlock):
One-time purchase. The monthly plan exists only to carry the 3-day free trial.
AI health chat: Ask "How did my HRV trend this week?" or "Why was my recovery so low after that flight?" The AI has full context of your data and answers with specific numbers, not generic advice.
Ask about what you're looking at: a workout, a night, a chart, a report - the answer cites what's on screen.
Bring Your Own Key (BYOK): Use your own Anthropic, OpenAI or Google API key. You choose the model and control the cost - calls go directly from your device to the provider.
Apple Intelligence: private on-device AI analysis (supported devices)
Recurring Insights: AI health reports daily or weekly, by push notification.
Wellness Log: sessions (sauna, cold plunge, breathwork, meditation), check-ins (energy, mood, stress, soreness, focus) and events (supplements, caffeine, alcohol, sunlight, travel).
Profile context: Tell the AI your supplement stack, equipment and dietary approach - it personalises every answer.
Turn any AI advice into a trackable goal with one tap - extract full Commitments directly from chat
30-day AI context: Full detail for the last 7 days, weekly summaries for days 8-30, with anomalies surfaced automatically.
AI-powered Nutrition Log - log meals in plain English and let AI extract macros, calories and micronutrients, plus a Food Reactions ledger of your own patterns

Compatibility
Works with any device that writes to Apple Health: Apple Watch, Oura, Ultrahuman, Whoop, Garmin, Amazfit, smart scales.

Metrya Pro requires Apple Intelligence on a supported device, or your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic or Google. Metrya is an analytics tool and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

### 5/5 — Great so far

*2026-06-16*

An alternative to Bevel and Athylitic that seems to be spot-on. I’ll update this review after a couple weeks…

**Developer response:** really appreciate! This is community-driven application so if you have any suggestions how to make this app better - new features, changes how existing features work, etc - or any bugs please do not hesitate to contact me. let's make this app as good as possible! :)

### 1/5 — Trial isn’t working

*2026-04-24*

Activated the free trial and completed the steps to incorporate the AI assistant but it’s not recognizing that pro has been activated. Keeps asking me to subscribe to activate pro features, then my phone confirms I’m subscribed. And the cycle starts over again.

**Developer response:** So sorry that the free trial didn't work as expected! We’ve already released a fix in the most recent update. We’d like to offer you something for the trouble, so please send us an email (radek@jozefowicz.dev) so we can help you out

### 5/5 — Game changer for health data nerds

*2026-04-10*

Connects perfectly with Apple Health, shows trends that Apple’s native app hides, and the AI chat answers specific questions like 'Why was my HRV low last night?' Zero servers, total privacy.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.11.17 — 2026-10-01

YOUR STACK

Your supplements now have their own screen. Add what you take from a catalog of 150 supplements, or add your own, and set the dose, time of day and start date. Each day, tick off a whole time of day in one tap, or log a skip with a reason. Reminders are optional and off until you turn them on. Each supplement also says whether its effect can be tested, and how well it is researched. If you listed supplements in your profile, Stack asks you to check them and move them in. Stack is free and stays on your phone.

With Pro, each supplement shows how your data looked on days you took it and on days you skipped it, and since you started it. Travel and sick days are left out. These are patterns, not proof.

A NEW TODAY

The top of Today is redesigned. Recovery, Reserve, Sentinel, today's training, tonight's bedtime and HRV status are now in one place. Choose between two layouts in Customize Dashboard. Instruments shows all your numbers on one screen and is the default. Command puts your plan for the day in one card.

Tap your Recovery score to see why it is what it is: your last 7 scores against your usual, what moved it since yesterday, and each part compared with your usual level.

A new Timeline shows your day in order, from waking up to what you logged, then wind-down, bedtime and your wake-up time. It replaces the Interventions card. Water on Today now logs a glass in one tap, with an Undo button.

HRV STATUS AND HEART RATE RECOVERY

HRV status compares your last 7 nights of HRV with your own normal range from the 60 nights before. It says Balanced, Unbalanced or Low. High HRV is not always good: if your resting heart rate, breathing or wrist temperature is up at the same time, the screen explains why, and Recovery does not rise. The first status needs about 4 weeks of wearing your watch to bed.

Each workout now shows your heart rate recovery: how much your heart rate dropped in the first minute after you stopped. After 5 checked workouts of one type, it is compared with your usual. Stand still for 2 minutes after a workout for the best reading.

THIS WEEK IN RESEARCH

Studies added in the last 7 days now appear as short stories of up to four cards: the finding, why it matters and how strong the evidence is. Studies about things you log come first. Open it from Research or from Today. The summaries are written by AI, and the studies are in English. Studies now show the year they were published when the date could be checked.

ALSO IN THIS RELEASE

Smart alarm: you can set it at any time of day from the Sleep screen. It no longer rings at the start of your window without a reason. If the time moves after you set it, the alarm card now says so.

Sleep debt: a long night now pays back some of your debt. Your sleep need is never lower than 7 hours.

### 2.11.16 — 2026-09-26

WAKE UP IN LIGHT SLEEP

Set a smart alarm on the Tonight card. With Pro, you pick a wake time and a window of 15 to 45 minutes. Metrya looks at your last 28 nights with sleep stages and rings at the minute you are most likely to be in light sleep. It predicts this from past nights, because it cannot see your sleep stages during the night. A plain alarm at your usual wake time is free. Alarms need iOS 26. On an older iPhone, Metrya suggests a time to set in the Clock app.

TRAINING TODAY, AND WHY YOUR RECOVERY MOVED

Under your Recovery score, Metrya now suggests what kind of workout fits today: a rest day, or an easy, moderate or hard workout, with a time range such as "about 30 to 45 minutes at a steady effort". It uses your Recovery, your workouts over the last four weeks and your Reserve. The Train tab shows the same suggestion.

Tap the Recovery ring to see what changed since yesterday and which part moved your score most. If a raised temperature or Sentinel limited the score, you now see that too. You can also log Feeling unwell and Late meal in one tap. If you log Feeling unwell, Metrya explains the low score and can ask the Advisor to go easy for 7 days.

RESEARCH, REBUILT

Knowledge Feed is now called Research. Studies no longer disappear after 30 days, so the library grows every day. Each study has a label that says what kind of study it is, for example a trial or a meta-analysis. Animal studies say that the results may not apply to people. "For you" shows studies about things you log, such as sauna, caffeine or your supplements. This is worked out on your phone, and nothing about you is sent to Metrya. You can search, filter by topic and save studies. The studies are in English.

WALKING QUALITY

A new Walking quality screen shows how even your walking is. Your iPhone measures this when you carry it in a trouser pocket while you walk. Apple Watch does not record it. Metrya compares each week with your own usual from the last eight weeks. If your walking is less even than usual for two weeks, a note appears on the Today screen. With Pro, you also see how your walking speed and step length changed over six months. Open it from the Train tab. It is a signal from your phone, not a medical test.

ALSO IN THIS RELEASE

When Apple Health splits one night in two, for example at 02:00, Metrya now joins it back into one night, so your sleep no longer looks short. Naps have their own card on Night detail. They do not count toward your night or your sleep debt.

Share last night or today's Recovery as an image from Night detail or the Recovery sheet. The image is made on your phone and nothing is uploaded.

iCloud backup keeps an encrypted copy of what you entered in Metrya in your own iCloud, so you can restore it on a new phone. Find it in Settings, Data. It is a backup, not live sync between two phones. Apple Health data is not in it, because Metrya reads it again after a restore.

Two new Home Screen widgets. Caffeine (Pro) shows how much caffeine is still in your body and when it clears. Log (free) has one-tap buttons for a drink, a meal and caffeine. Widgets are still in English.

### 2.11.15 — 2026-09-24

MEDICATIONS, AS CONTEXT FOR THE ADVISOR

Some medications change heart rate, sleep or Recovery. You can now add what you take in Context, under About you, so the Advisor can keep it in mind when it looks at your data. On iOS 26 or later you can import names from Apple Health. On an older iPhone, type them yourself.

Metrya does not track doses or send reminders, and it will never tell you to start, stop or change a medication. Your list stays on this phone. The Advisor only sees a medication after you switch Share with Advisor on for it. Sharing with the Advisor is part of Pro.

EIGHT NEW HOME SCREEN WIDGETS

Last Night shows last night's sleep, score and debt, and Tonight after 19:00. Nutrition shows today's calories and macros. The Large size has buttons to log a meal by photo, barcode, AI or favourites. HRV shows today's heart-rate variability and where the last reading sits in the day's range. Today shows active calories, steps and VO2max. Water shows today's water against your goal, with a + button to log a drink. Circadian, Sleep details and Training give a larger view of your average day, last night's stages and your last 7 days of training load.

Nutrition, HRV, Today and Water read live from Apple Health, so they stay current without opening the app. All widgets are free. They are still in English.

YOUR NIGHT, ON ANY SCHEDULE

The short sheet after a finished night no longer waits for morning. It can appear for up to 8 hours after you wake, so if you work nights and wake at 15:00, you still see it. You can now swipe down anywhere on it to close it.

MORE OF METRYA IN YOUR LANGUAGE

This version translates the Today screen, the "What happened?" log sheet, Bio age, the BMI detail screen and Medications into French, German, Spanish and Polish. Settings, Display, Language lists everything that is translated.

ALSO IN THIS RELEASE

When you pick a meal photo from your library, the meal time now defaults to when the photo was taken. You can still change it.

If you use your own API key, new models are in Settings, AI Model: Claude Opus 5, Claude Haiku 4.5, GPT-5.6 Luna, GPT-5.6 Terra, Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.7 Flash.

If you use an on-device model, Metrya now unloads it after 5 minutes without a message. The app stays responsive on phones with less memory.

### 2.11.14 — 2026-09-18

A NEW NUTRITION HISTORY
Nutrition history has been redesigned. It starts with an overview of the last 7 or 30 days: a bar for each day against your calorie goal, your daily average, how many days were on target, and your macro split. Tap a bar to jump to that day. Today is left out of the numbers until the day is over.
Each day is now one card. Closed, it shows a small ring against your goal, whether you were on target, over or under, your macros, water and meal photos. Tap it to see the meals and drinks. Planned meals appear at the top under Coming up, and days with nothing logged are grouped into one line.
A RICHER CALORIE RING
The ring on the Nutrition tab is bigger and fills with a colour gradient. If you eat more than your goal, a second, thinner lap in orange and pink shows how much more. It no longer turns red. Below the ring, a short line tells you how many calories are left, or that you are on target, which means within 5% of your goal. Macro bars show "+12g" when you go over.
MORE OF METRYA IN YOUR LANGUAGE
This version translates the Activity tab with Train, Recover, Feel and the protocol pages, the Activity timeline, saved conversations, the Nutrition tab, Nutrition history, Food reactions and Hydration. The meal logger, the caffeine tracker and the Pro screen are still in English. Settings, Display, Language lists everything that is translated.
Water and drink times now use the 24-hour format, like the rest of the app.
FIXES
Some apps save the same workout sample many times. One walk of 3 km was shown as 128 km. Metrya now counts a repeated sample once, and it counts only the part of a sample that falls inside the workout. If a distance is still impossible for the time, for example 20 km of walking in one hour, Metrya shows no distance instead of a wrong one. Saved workout summaries are calculated again.
ALSO IN THIS RELEASE
The meal logger has a lighter look that follows light and dark mode. Its title is now always "Log a meal". When a meal is set for another day, the day appears above the time.

### 2.11.13 — 2026-09-17

METRYA IN YOUR LANGUAGE

You can now use Metrya in English, French, German, Spanish or Polish. Automatic follows your phone's language, or you can pick one in Settings, Display, Language.

Translation is gradual. This version translates the tab bar, Settings, Profile, Context Center, the Advisor chat, the first-launch setup and more. Other screens stay in English for now. The Language screen lists what is already translated.

The Advisor now answers in your app language too. With Apple Intelligence this works for French, German and Spanish, but not yet for Polish. Notifications, widgets and the Watch are still in English.

A SIMPLER MEAL LOGGER

The meal logger now has one field. Type a food to search, or describe a whole meal and Metrya estimates it with AI. Before you type, you see your favourites, recent meals and the meals you log most.

Search now also finds packaged products from Open Food Facts. Type at least 3 letters, or scan the barcode with your camera. Only your search words or the barcode are sent to Open Food Facts, directly from your phone. Nothing goes through Metrya's servers.

Favourites has its own tab, where you can search, sort and edit them. The log now shows the photo a meal was analysed from. Photos stay on your phone.

YOUR NIGHT

On the first morning open after a finished night, Metrya shows a short summary: sleep score, time asleep, sleep stages, and how the night compares with your usual. It waits until the night is really over, and you see it only once, before 12:00.

WORTH A LOOK

A new card on Today points to one thing in your own data that you have not looked at recently. For example, a Recovery debt run that just ended or a new VO2max high.

At most one new card appears per day. It sends no notifications and makes no AI request. You can hide it in Customize Dashboard.

ALSO IN THIS RELEASE

Feel has a new Mood and your body section. After 10 days of data, it compares your mood on days with higher and lower HRV, sleep and Recovery. It shows them side by side and does not say one causes the other.

A new Mood card on Today lets you log how you feel with one tap.

Discover now marks the screens you have already opened.
