Does not allow to pay from the app (need to claim the car wash promotion at the station itself). Overall poorly designed and implemented, buggy and not user friendly. ### 1/5 — Rubbish Adding Card Payment *2026-07-15, version 5.2.0* I tried twice to add my credit card to the app and on both occasions, it was rejected. This was after the card had been authorised via my banking app and no explanation was given. The card was added to other charging apps with no issues. Rubbish. ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2026-07-10, version 5.2.0* Rubbish. Just rubbish. Twenty minutes in 31 degrees trying to get the car charged. Gave up went elsewhere so MFG is to be avoided as it’s not up to the task. ### 1/5 — Worse App EVER!!!! *2026-07-10, version 5.2.0* Signed up and signed in once and it never let me back in the app again. MFG, sort it out or just delete the app altogether. ### 1/5 — It is NOT working. *2026-06-07, version 5.1.4* It worked without the app. Nr. 1 you HAVE to switch of your VPN (which it will not tell you, you have to guess) And it’s all what I can advise you… It takes you to the point where it ask you to connect the plug and is not recognised connection (CHdeMo). I didn’t believe all negative comments but YES, IT DOESN'T WORK. ### 1/5 — Won’t connect to service *2026-06-07, version 5.1.4* Downloaded app to use car wash. All registered but will not open relevant option to initiate use of car wash. Waste of time. ### 1/5 — Unable to register *2026-06-03, version 5.1.4* APP is really bad, slow and clunky. Got to the password stage and it kept glitching. Tried to use my card on my phone direct and it won’t accept that at the actual station. Someone advised me you need a physical card. Don’t waste your time ### 1/5 — Don’t Bother *2026-05-24, version 5.1.4* If you’re an MG EV owner looking to charge your car then avoid MFG charging stations. The app itself is slow, won’t talk to my password manager, often loses connection and gives no guidance when something goes wrong. Two attempted charging sessions failed to connect to my EV with no reason given. The app is, however, highly efficient when taking prepayments and currently owes me £80. As a company you have invested huge amounts of money into your charging stations, yet your app work. Pulled up, downloaded the app, filled in all the details, tried to connect twice. Nothing. Other than two £40 prepayments pending at the bank! Gave up on the app and used contactless. That’s charged me £45 prepayment so now have £125 pending at my bank! That £80 better not come out of my account or we’ll be having words!!! ### 1/5 — Useless app *2026-04-27, version 5.1.1* Asks every where to download it and when you do there is no clear way to use it! The charger I was connected to wasn’t listed on the app so I couldn’t start the charge - complete waste of time. The app was unreliable when I first opened it the icons were jumping all over the screen and then it caused my phone to glitch and crash. I managed to connect charger via the screen and deleted the app. Would give 0 stars if I could. **Developer response:** We’d like to investigate this further. Our team will then review the issue and provide assistance. ### 1/5 — Terrible company and app! *2026-08-12, version 5.2.0* Don’t plug in until youve set up the payment! This is the only charging company I know of who charge £40 just for the pleasure of plugging in. It’s called ‘prepayment’ so should be refunded but there is no mention of when. If something goes wrong when plugging in (which it will as there are no instructions) then you are charged the prepayment again. I had to use one of their chargers yesterday and have yet to get the remainder my £40 back from them (only used £14.50). Today I’ve ended up with £80 being taken as I connected the charger before setting up payment. THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!!! ### 1/5 — What’s the point? *2026-08-08, version 5.2.0* Does not work unless I authorise notifications. Installed. Registered. Deleted. ### 1/5 — No charging stations (anywhere in the uk) *2026-08-06, version 5.2.0* This app simply cannot find any charging stations. I have the same issue with the shell app. Other apps eg Zapmap and Electroverse on my phone are fine. ### 1/5 — Worst experience *2026-08-05, version 5.2.0* Tried to charge with MFG and they deduct three times preauthorised payment and still I was not able to charge my car and called customer service and also they haven’t any clue neither about payment or charging supply and worst is not even able to get preauthorised payment in 6 days. Worst experience ### 1/5 — Sign up process only possible for UK, French and Irish mobile numbers. *2026-08-04, version 5.2.0* Incredibly frustrating app. You go through a lengthy sign up process, creating a password only to wait for a code to your mobile number which will never arrive if it happens to not be a UK, French or Irish number (despite the fact that other countries are listed in a drop down menu). mfg think that German mobile numbers could be fraudulent! ### 1/5 — At least 3 characters on last name *2026-07-27, version 5.2.0* I can’t believe there is still last name characters restriction on a 2026 App. Not able to register an account unless I add extra characters to my last name (which only have 2 characters). Close and delete the app from my phone immediately. ### 1/5 — Genuinely designed by a monkey *2026-07-23* Wanted to boom and prepay a jet wash. It send you in loops on the home screen saying to make an account or continue as guest. Id imagine it would work if i made an account (which i dont want to do) but the fact it doesn’t tell you that is just awful app design. It also pops up error messages just because I didn’t allow for notifications… A literal school kid could design an app better than this… **Developer response:** The app allows you to record your in-store 'Top Car Wash' purchases to earn your free wash. It wouldn’t even allow me to use the password generator and then it told me it had problems. First impressions count and this app does not make a good first impressions. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-07-18, version 5.2.0* Couldn’t load receipt for car wash. Not very good or user friendly. Wasted an hour of my life on it. Deleted it. ## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — East to use *2025-11-20, version 5.0.3* Easy to use super fast charge - not the cheapest but back on road within 20 mins with 80% ### 4/5 — Decent *2022-09-05* I only use basic but works fine. However, on the station finder the stations get grouped too quickly ( into a blob with numbers). Route finder doesn't work but that seems to be universal problem ### 3/5 — Mediocre *2023-08-17* When will app developers ever understand the needs of EV owners? I want to know how much charge I have in real-time, so I can leave the car charging while I go and get a coffee etc. I ideally want to know how quickly it’s charging to help me work out when it’s going to get to the level of charge I need to get home, even better if it can give me an ETA of when that will be. This does none of those things it merely tells me how much charge I’ve had in kWh for the current session. So it’s just a very mediocre app, giving basic information, meaning I need to wait in the car until it charges wasting my time. ### 2/5 — Great in theory *2026-07-07, version 5.2.0* Great when it works, especially the offers section which seems to not recognise the barcodes with cashiers. ### 2/5 — Potential data breach *2026-05-18, version 5.1.4* It is possible to access receipts from other users who share the same last 4 digits of their credit card as yours when searching for your receipt. I found a receipt for someone who charged up in Cambridgeshire while I was in the Peak District. Currently in discussion with customer service. Awaiting resolution to this or will raise concern with financial ombudsman. Also issues trying to get the Visa verify page to work when uploading a new credit card. It’s a real shame as the chargers are very fast. ### 2/5 — Easy to use but.. *2026-03-31, version 5.1.1* Worked just fine but not happy about the pre authorisation fee! And the fact they keep it in their account for two days+! ### 2/5 — Doesn't allow Stop Charging *2026-02-19, version 5.1.1* The apps doesn't provide stop charging option. Some of the apps offers doesn't accept at store. ### 2/5 — Buggy App and Missing Features *2025-12-12* When charging through the app, it often doesn’t show that it’s charging and shows the map/search. I also often find that it shows I’m charging when I’m not too! Also good to add it to your lock screen as a status like Tesla do with theirs.
