Had to manually change settings on every single app. ### 3/5 — Suggestion *2026-07-25, version 2.2.6* 25/jul/26 same car park. Works perfectly. Go figure. 17/jul/26 Same as 11/jun. went back to car. All doors were in fact locked. App shows car locked but door status all open, 6553V etc. Tapped unlock and car unlocked but busy icon spinning around and eventually said cannot contact car. Same with lock function. Tap it and the car locks but busy icon spinning and eventually message cannot contact again. 11/june/26 App says all doors are open, power train unknown, battery voltage 6553.5v. Tried different networks, restarted phone, restarted car. Happens every now and again. 30/5/26 I just noticed something today. When you open this app on Apple iPhone or the the Android, same symptoms. Takes its time loading and when done, they don’t display the kms or the %. A bug on both platforms. 11/5/2026 went on holidays. Car gone into deep sleep. Remedy, unlock and lock car again. How remotely? What a joke. 30/1/2026 went to schedule charge today. Failed. Keeps saying time out try again later. Works from the car just not the app. And 31/1/2026, working again ???? 11/jan/26 cannot connect to vehicle. “Vehicle not responding”. Spent some time trying to resolve this after executing the trouble shooting suggestions on the error message. Gave up. 6 hours later, works flawlessly. As at 13/may/2025, app is awesome. The only negative now seems to be when I start app it shows km briefly then disappears and refreshing it shows kms successfully. Seems to need refreshing repeatedly to show first screen, at least twice. All I get is the fan blowing. ### 2/5 — Potentially a good idea but…. *2026-03-25, version 2.2.6* Nice idea but the distance to battery percentage is very different between the data shown in the car and that shown in the app. Clearly car and app are not talking to each other. Lots of missed opportunities to show more data. I would love to see the same data in the app that is displayed on the dashboard particularly kw/ 100km etc but the app just doesn’t. ### 4/5 — Works well *2026-03-15, version 2.2.6* The app works as intended and is handy for remote lock/unlock and turning on the air con etc. One great feature would be the ability to change the charging speed from the app, rather than having to go and sit in the car to do it. Clearly done on the cheap. Just a collection of functions thrown into menus. They have “upgraded” the app to allow multiple people to drive the car (i.e. phone key) but took me hours to work out how to do it. You can’t even update your user account settings unless you “bind” to a car. Yes… as a secondary driver not you (or anyone) can even change your password. Slow to load status of car, make changes and sometimes fails but app has improved over the past 2 years - thank you. I do wonder if the issues are due to the speed of the connection with the car itself. Wish I could schedule different windows for the car to charge on different days. (Eg save both 9am-3pm on weekend and 11pm-1am mid week) And/Or set a one-off charging window for a future time (eg start charging tonight only at 11pm) ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Poorly designed *2026-08-28, version 2.2.7* Functions are poorly grouped and are triggered individually, you have to wait for each action to be confirmed before starting the next. For example; Turn on driver’s seat heat, then passengers’s, then set cabin temp, then fan speed. These should be sent as one message to the car after selecting Apply ### 1/5 — Cr…app *2026-08-02, version 2.2.6* I can’t even register. It supposedly sends an authentication code to my email address. I’ve tried 3 different email addresses (several times over a couple of days). It’s not in spam. Doesn’t work. Have had it fixed through dealer twice and still not working. Not impressed give. It didn’t work to get a registration code. After the car salesmen suggested I check my spam (luckily they were there with that idea!) and there was no code there either, both of then tried it … sure enough, there was no code coming through for them either. Tried more than 10 times in the dealership without success. Then the manager told me the car was updating, that it could take a few HOURS and I couldn’t drive it away at all — even without the app! What a woeful on boarding experience—so disappointed I am getting this car. ### 1/5 — Rubbish! *2026-02-04, version 2.2.6* If I could give it no stars. I would! The app is absolutely useless. I have tried on multiple occasions to get my car connect to this app. I even asked about it when I took it in for a service at MG. I was told to delete the app and try again. Now the app won’t even let me pass the password stage. I have filled all the requirements and it will not let me continue. I’ve owed my car for 3 years now and still havnt had any success with this app or being able to connect my car to it. What a joke! ### 1/5 — Poor Quality *2025-12-14, version 2.2.6* OK for monitoring vehicle stats, but charging functionality ceased working weeks ago and now has to be controlled from inside the vehicle. Digital key is useless as well, as you have to use the app to start/stop open/close the car, rather than being able to use the phone as an NFC card (like my BYD does) ### 1/5 — MULTIPLE DRIVER PROFILES *2025-11-29, version 2.2.6* PLEASE FIX THE APP. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE MAKE MULTIPLE DRIVER PROFILES. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE MAKE MG4 REMEMBER ITS CONFIGURATION SO DRIVERS DON’T HAVE TO CHANGE THE SETTINGS EVERY TIME. It’s a great app and I have no problems with it. It’s really good for time based charging to save setting that up on the infotainment screen.
