Lights were pretty and had a lot of colors lit my whole room. After the last update it made the lights dimmer, the “standard” yellow was so bright it made my room feel like day time in the middle of the night but now it’s not even enough to navigate. But now it won’t even show up in the list of my devices whenever I’m trying to connect to it. It’s really frustrating when I come home in the dark, open my phone, and can’t get the bulb to show up! I’ve tried turning the lamp on and off again, taking out the bulb and putting it back in, and deleting and reinstalling the app and it’s no use! The bulb isn’t dead because after a while it miraculously connects again! I turned it off once and back on the see if the color would reset and poof doesn’t turn on anymore. Bulb won’t connect (obviously) and I’ve tried at least five different lamps. But now when I use the music, instead changing colors slowly with the beats, it rapid fires each color one after the other now. It makes me feel like I’m having a rainbow seizure and I don’t want to use the music feature at all anymore. Also would love if the music could connect to my Spotify because I don’t use Apple Music. I had to download songs just to use it. If not the spotify music feature, I would love if it was organized by artists or playlists instead of the entire music library. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Don’t ruin your lightbulb *2023-02-13* ive had this bulb for a few years when i had a samsung phone, and the app worked sufficiently as a remote for the bulb. The music mode was completely unusable and the light colors themselves were lacking. I usually used the light as a regular bulb as the default yellow setting was good light. Now, with the iphone app, I set the bulb to its default yellow and it has made it dimmer. using the slider does not work, since it seems that the “full” brightness is now half of what it used to be. Id be better off using a regular lightbulb at this point. honestly if you have the chance, return the lightbulb and go with a different brand. too many issues. ### 1/5 — Pretty but useless *2022-01-11* The light bulb connects to the app without issue, and that is its best feature. It's dim, even set to white at full brightness, so it's not useful as an actual light. The preset colors are not what I would use, and I can't find any way to change them or set my own. I wanted to use a different color and I unfortunately can not. I tried to reset it (saw a few videos saying to unscrew it 5 times and it would blink white light but it didn’t work for me). It barely works and the colours it displays are all ghastly. ### 1/5 — Color issue *2020-04-03* Older versions have better colors, a yellow color option that is a bright natural/warm light setting allowing the bulbs to work as a standard light, and the option to completely turn off the lights from within the app. Newer updates dim the default light setting without much brightness contrast, the standard light setting is replaced with a green yellow option that is completely useless, you can no longer turn off the lights completely, only dim them slightly, and none of the party settings work. My recommendation to the creators would be to go back to the drawing board and start over. I was amazed how beautiful the different spectrum of colors showed as I operated the app on my iPhone. I also have music on my iTunes library on my phone, so the Music section of the app works perfectly syncing the music to an awesome pulsating reaction of colors on the Smart Bulb.
