Embarrassing compared to other news apps I use. I am a daily print subscriber so I pay them over $1000/year. Despite that, the apps on my phone and iPad demand I log on about once a week. Really? Don’t get me started about the browser version on my computer. Thanks, Customer Care ### 1/5 — Can’t even log on *2025-01-07, version 10.0.6* Why does this app even exist? Try as I might I unable to log on unless I uninstall the app and then reinstall it. Even then, it’s good for one occasion. Once I close it I can’t log in again without uninstalling it first. This should be a simple procedure but the devs can’t seem to get it right. FYI, I’m running an iPhone 15 w most recent iOS update and it still won’t work. It’s the worst, you would think that the paper could figure out some basic 3rd party app to use that was decent - nope. I’ve emailed customer service and they said try uninstalling and reinstalling the app and log in with Apple. I’ve done it twice. I send customer service screenshots. Still nothing. Other papers have much better apps. Why not our Herald? Seems like management would have done something about this by now. But the recent update deleted all my ability to customize the subjects I want. Very disappointed ### 5/5 — I love the Herald… *2022-02-07* …but hate the app. Genuinely the worst app I use—still, I use it, because the journalism is important to me. Here are three of the most glaring flaws: (1) if you click an in-text link to another article, it pulls the new article up in a browser. The browser is paywalled. So basically, no in-text links. (2) on the e-dition, you effectively can’t navigate. There is no way to go back a page, and if you try to open the table of contents, the app crashes. (3) don’t click on the push notifications. Just don't—the app *might* open, but even if it does, it takes about a minute and will usually crash. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback, we will share this with our team. Try reinstalling the app, this should resolve the crashing/loading issue. We are aware of a matter affecting push notifications, a version release will be resolving this. ### 5/5 — Worthless *2021-08-23, version 9.1.2* I deleted the app 4 times same issue.
