### 1/5 — Stopped workin on Mojave

*2025-11-23*

Can't even access prefs

### 1/5 — Just shows questionmark in menubar

*2024-09-24*

All other data seems okay i guess

### 3/5 — Seems ok but only shows LA for me

*2024-03-27*

I want to like the app, and if you live in a big city it probably works well. In a small city it would only show me LA which is not even close. Changing the location did not work

### 4/5 — Capable app. Needs some enhancements.

*2023-06-12*

First off, I do like the app so far. However, there are a couple ideas for it.

One: Allow the user to specify temperatures in the summary page to be displayed as Celcius or Fahrenheit. Mine are being displayed as Celcius, I prefer Fahrenheit.

Two. Put an option to load automatically at system startuo. Having to use System Settings and manually insert the appp into the Startup Apps section is a hassle when one click could do it.

### 4/5 — Great app, need enhancement

thansk for the greate app as air quality is not good in my area, I met an issue to update date on both WAQI and PurpleAir, when input right vaule, both of them have error, please take xi'an for testing and fix it, thanks

### 5/5 — Great App

Love this app, the only thing i wish it had was to integrate local OA Temp on the menu bar icon or allow the choice between AQI and OAT.

### 5/5 — Works as expected

*2021-08-27*

Love the Purple integration. Works just as I expected. The only thing I wish was different was being able to remove the "M" in the menubar. It doesn't make sense and would look a lot cleaner without it.

### 5/5 — Great App, one suggestion

*2021-08-19*

I'm installing this on my Mac to have an ambient monitor of my PurpleAir sensor, and it seems great for that. PurpleAir has several different correction formulas that can be used, and I'd like the option to use the EPA's Woodsmoke correction. This is fairly often different from the basic AQI value and more relevant during California Wildfire season. Thanks!

**Developer response:** Many thanks for your review & suggestion (and hope you're keeping safe with wildfires).
I'm reading up on the conversion formulae - I'll give incorporating it a go ( from https://cfpub.epa.gov/si/si_public_file_download.cfm?p_download_id=540979&Lab=CEMM)

### 5/5 — California is burning and this app lets me know if I'll have school

*2020-10-02, version 1.10*

Burn burn burn

I do think it would look nicer if the M in the menubar could be hidden, and if the menubar used more contrasting emojis, because they are kind of dull.

### 5/5 — Great app, responsive developer!

*2020-10-01*

With air quality in the bay area currently touch and go it's great to be able to get a quick sense of whether it's safe to go outside or open the windows, and Miasma provides just that ability. I am able to pin the menubar widget to my PurpleAir sensor and know in a glance what's going on or a quick check of the popdown menu and I immediately get other weather vitals from the same sensor. This is basically exactly what I wanted and I'm 100% satisfied.

I'll add that I started to have a crash-at-startup bug with a recent update and reached out to the developer. Within minutes I had a response and after a quick exchange they'd isolated the problem and provided a new build that addressed the issue (even though it's well into the evening in their time zone)! Outstanding service and responsiveness in addition to a useful app. Thank you.

## Most praised reviews (1 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Responsive to feature requests

*2020-09-18*

After contacting the developer with the following suggestion:

Provide option for getting the Purple.com US EPA PM2.5 AQI data. Currently it only retrieves the RAW PM2.5 in ug/m3

It was implemented in less than 4 days. It's great to have an app whose developer listens to user feedback and takes action!

Thanks Darrah!!
