This is just what I needed! All it needs is CSV import. Please add CSV import and it would be perfect! ### 4/5 — Manage Repeating Transactions - not working *2023-08-09* iMac Studio Max M1 When I try to create a repeating transaction: 1. A name is required, but it only lets you key in one letter at a time. 2. The amount defaults to 25,000 pounds, but you can change it. Not sure why it defaults to pounds when my book is setup as dollars. When you click on the amount or use the keypad or use the keypad in the amount, nothing works to change the amount. I just keyed in 24 recurring transactions manually so I was excited when I found this feature...but it doesn't work. :( **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. Apple are in charge of asking you when to review, it looks like they have been a little hasty there! Hopefully when you've had more time to get to grips with Microbooks we might earn that fifth star. This is perfect! It would be great to have an invoicing option but I guess that's not the basics. They are so helpful and are very willing to take onboard your requirements. A great app for a small business. Best of luck with your business :) ### 3/5 — Not enough features *2021-02-22* It sounds like a great idea. I tried it out, but you cannot edit the categories so it is limiting in that way. You also can't do a profit and loss sheet, which you would need for an accountant. So you would have to calculate and do the spread sheet for this yourself. As a small reseller I have quite a few in and out. This app has been perfect manage this. I also found it great to help keep my personal in going and out goings. **Developer response:** Thanks for your kind words, best of luck in your small business! ### 5/5 — Great apps for small businesses *2021-01-28* Great apps for small businesses-Great customer service - David Todd always do response to any question you may have very quickly. As I use on my 2 separate device (with 2 different iCloud account) I found a couple of small issue which I reported to the app developer and he said he’s going to release another update very soon, and I can’t wait for next update, but it is not a big deal, very minor couple of suggestion like re-confirmation before deleting by swiping left, and better iCloud synchronisation between devices etc. that’s all and which I have already mentioned and he said it will be fix soon. This is one of the best app in the market-specially the developers are not greedy, it is not ongoing subscription -you pay once and it’s all yours for life (unless you need receipt auto scanner) -lifetime license is the beauty of this beautiful and powerful app, and this is not complicated to use at all. Thank you Developers for great apps and do not make complicated, please do not add any unnecessary function, please keep it as simple as it is now for forever - yes I would definitely recommend it for all small businesses. **Developer response:** Thanks for your kind words and your useful feedback. Love simplicity. Unfortunately, dated in its approach. I.e no facility to import PDF receipts, payment advices etc. Payment from one account only so no way of identifying if you paid cash, bank transfer, credit card for purchases. No facility either to make or relabel categories so its bespoke for your business. No way of entering disposal of assets separate to sales or entering credits on returned purchases either. If these fundamentals addressed it could be the go to app for small business and self employed who don’t want to be held to ransom by the monthly subscription model of the big players for functionality they will never use. Support for this app seems good , plus makers seem to be actively encouraging feedback - always a good start. **Developer response:** Thanks for your kind words, we're adding new features periodically so we're hoping to include the features you mention in the coming months. All the best to you and your small business! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Very limited functionality *2025-07-31, version 1.8* A very simple income & expenses system only that could be easily built in Excel or Number, there is no balance sheet (even a limited one) element and no ability to run bank reconciliations or do any other basic tasks. ### 1/5 — annoying *2023-12-10, version 1.8* asks for a rating after every imput. also, date resets to cuurent date after every imput. ### 1/5 — DO NOT PURCHASE!!! *2022-03-30, version 1.7.3* THIS APP JUST ERRORS OUT AND QUITS!! ALL I GET TO DO IS SEND A REPORT OF THE ERROR AFTER IT SHUTS DOWN! WHAT A RIP OFF! The software keeps shutting down without warning. Not sure why - not sure if this is going to be an ongoing issue. I now enter my costs with Receipt sense, so easy. Scans the invoice or receipt and enters the amount date and description for me, I just enter my catagory and its done. Drilling down is so easy to find specific entries is a breeze. Gives me my profit and Costs as the year progresses. Highly reccommend . ### 5/5 — ReceiptSense *2022-04-28* I have had Microbooks for a while and love it. I have been looking at Receipt sense for a while and thought I would give it a go. Now I wonder why I waited as it is superb! ReceiptSense scans my receipts and makes data entry even easier, even scans till receipts and enters the totals and date purchased.
