### 4/5 — 2yrs later….

*2023-06-02*

I purchased the Microlife BP kit @ Costco. The app is quite basic. No frills! Does what it says- record your BP readings. It syncs with my iPhone seamlessly & saves the data. My only complaint is that when I email the file, I have to change the time format from 24hrs to 12hrs. Although the app displays a 12hr format, the crv file does not. THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON THE OLD VERSION! I have not yet updated the software.

### 2/5 — Creating profile crashes the app

*2023-01-28, version 1.1.5*

The app crashes when add profile button is clicked. I gave up after some troubleshooting on my own and ended up emailing for support. Most healthcare devices come with a companion mobile app. That’s one of the decision factor when I purchased the device from Costco. Now seeing how dismal the app is, I’m contemplating returning the device.

### 4/5 — I’ll give it 4 stars because I can’t give it 4.9.

*2022-06-24, version 1.1.5*

See everything works perfect. The missing 0.1 to give it 5 stars to microlife device and app is because you gotta take an extra step to sync data to your iPhone. I read other reviews about it doesn’t sync well. I was experiencing the same situation, because we are used to the simple and easy way of how other devices sync, in this case is a bit different so I suggest to take a few minutes to read the instructions in the book and watch the tutorial in the app. After doing it so all will make perfect sense. Data transfer is easy and fast, you can even share it with your specialist.

### 4/5 — Decent app

*2022-04-23, version 1.1.5*

I read the instructions carefully, so I didn't have any of the problems most of the other reviews complained about. The app is simple and easy to use. And it does connect and sync to my iPhone.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t stay paired with Iphone

*2021-12-29, version 1.1.3*

I’ve had this monitor for a few years. I’m having the same problem with pairing as others. Stay away from this monitor if you don’t want to spend hours and hours trying to pair this item.

Once paired it seems to record but not worth the trouble.

Costco hopefully has pulled this item from stock.

### 2/5 — Won’t pair

*2021-11-11, version 1.1.3*

When I first got their BP monitor it worked fine but haven’t been able to pair it since. Bought the monitor so I could automatically install the readings in my health app but because it won’t pair I can’t do that. Web info is worthless.

### 2/5 — User unfriendly

*2021-11-03, version 1.1.3*

The BP monitor works well. But the app is not easy to use. The directions are vague and generally not helpful. The online tutorial photos are far to small to read. If you were looking for connectivity with an iPhone I would not recommend. Needs much improvement.

### 3/5 — Won’t sync with the Apple health app

*2021-08-24, version 1.1.3*

The blood pressure device works wonderfully, but this app needs some more work. It doesn’t seem to be optimized for the iPhones with larger screens, like the pro models. And though I can sync the information to the app on my phone via Bluetooth, the info won’t appear on the Apple health app, even though NYT user profile has the “Sync data with Apple health” toggled on.

### 4/5 — Does what it promises in description but …..

*2021-08-08, version 1.1.3*

Just started using about a week. So far found no glitches in reading or data export. However I would love to see option for creating more graphical trend charts similar to the windows version of this app which I was using before with my older Microlife bp model. Or perhaps allow data to be easily exchanged with the Microlife windows 10 version software. I am sure this can be easily accomplished since they are both from Microlife. I may be purchasing different machine if this cannot be accomplished.

### 4/5 — Common Sense Applies

*2021-05-26, version 1.1.3*

It works. The direction in the book are awkward. Tech support helped and everything works correctly now. There is help and if you have trouble reach out for it. BP monitors have to be used as outlined or you get funky answers. Bluetooth apps do not all work the same. Call tech support that what they are for. Glad I did

### 3/5 — Pairing impossible

*2021-04-28, version 1.1.3*

The device itself is great, but the app does not pair. I was able to only pair it the very first time. After that pairing is impossible. That is the only reason I bought it, was to track my BP daily.

### 4/5 — App is Okay - Documentation Needs Help

*2020-12-22, version 1.1.3*

Downloaded the app after I had purchased the Microlife BP monitor from Costco. Set up my profile and was ready to download my readings from the monitor to my iPhone. I needed to get the BP monitor to turn on its Bluetooth...so I read the manual which said to press and hold the Power switch to activate the Bluetooth. Well, this model had a slide switch for the power...not a button. Called the Microlife support and was helped relatively quickly...the manual is wrong they said. Press and hold the Start icon on the screen. That worked!

The app does download the readings quickly. I haven’t tried exporting the data but will soon. It would be nice if the app could generate a simple graph of the blood pressure readings.

So I’ve had no Bluetooth connection problems with my iPhone at all. The app itself seems to work but has limited functions. Hopefully the developers will add more features in the future.

### 4/5 — No issues but would like graphing of trends

*2020-12-14, version 1.1.3*

I have zero, none, nada, no issues with Bluetooth connectivity. Device works as advertised and app is straightforward. Just with there was graphical trending...overall, weekly, monthly trends for total, an and pm results. Thankfully, it can be downloaded and imported into Excel to do the trending.

### 2/5 — UPDATE - how to pair solved

*2020-12-12, version 1.1.3*

I am only moving this up to 2 stars because bad instructions don’t deserve more. However, after setting up your profile, click on the Dashboard button. Then, while the monitor is in pairing mode, click the synch button in the app. This will trigger the app to ask for Bluetooth permission and will allow pairing to occur.

I would think the number of returns to Costco would send the head of sales straight to the developers desk. But a year of bad app reviews and no connectivity improvements tell me that Microlife is not interested. Needless to say, it won’t pair with my IPhone XS and will be going back to Costco.

### 2/5 — Looses Pairing Constantly

*2020-10-18, version 1.1.3*

Just bought the device a couple of days ago from Costco. While the monitor does the great job measuring blood pressure and the heart rate, I have to constantly pair it to my iPhone, unlike all my other Bluetooth devices that automatically pair when they are within the range. I decided to live with that until now.

After measuring my blood pressure and saw that the monitor was paired with my iPhone (shown as “connected” under the Bluetooth devices), I tried importing the results from the Dashboard but nothing would happen. I’d drop the connection and try again to no avail, or the device be discovered only sporadically-very frustrating! It’s not iPhone issue because I have no such problem with my other Bluetooth devices.

Thank God for Costco’s great refund policy. I will be shopping around for different monitors and, if I find one that works flawlessly on Bluetooth, I will return Microlife.

### 3/5 — No connection iPhone 8plus

*2020-09-14, version 1.1.3*

Machine works perfect!!! Buuuuutttt...at first it would sync; didn’t use for 3 weeks then now it will NOT sync!!? Delete and downloaded app, turned off, took out batteries from BP machine, everything, still can’t sync! Argh 😤 frustrating! Back to basics, and writing it down 😆

### 3/5 — Works fine but looks like it was designed by a teenager as their first iOS project in 2012

*2020-09-06, version 1.1.3*

Works fine. But would be nice if it caught up with competitors. Using HealthKit view instead of this app shows the trends I was looking for. But app should be updated.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Does not work with iPhone14

*2022-12-26, version 1.1.5*

Does not work with iPhone14. Upon clicking on ‘+’ for creating profile, app crashes. Cannot record/download readings in app without creating profile. So the app is useless and without app don’t want the device so returning the device. Though device is good. Looks like this issue has been reported by many users for few months now and looks like microlife does not care to fix it.

### 1/5 — Microlife blood pressure monitor.

*2021-12-04, version 1.1.3*

Great device but it stopped putting my data in memory and don’t get me started on blue tooth drop with iPhone. Technology supposedly is at cutting edge peak and nothing communicates among gadgets any more. Your app either needs some tweaks or I go back to the dark ages of sharpening my pencil and writing on that tree creation called paper to physically track my blood pressure.

### 1/5 — Device is fine, app is awful

*2021-07-30, version 1.1.3*

I constantly have to re-pair the device to my phone. Often I have to reboot my phone to get it to work. It might do 2 or 3 data syncs and then it fails again.
For all the “good” reviewers who think the bad reviews are just stupid people who don’t read the instructions (awkwardly written and as incomplete as they are) I’ll say that I’m a software developer who knows a thing or two about troubleshooting issues and I’m not dismissive of end user issues, especially when the same issue (looses pairing) is reported multiple times.
If it happens to work for you, great! But you should understand there’s a serious flaw (probably in the device’s firmware) that creates problems for a large percentage of users.

### 1/5 — You have been cheated

*2021-05-18, version 1.1.3*

Pros:
- You can export your measurements to Excel , Google or CSV
- Works with Apple health, not sure how well.

Cons:
- The app is poorly engineered
- The app deleted my past measurements
- The app reads in all the data on the device memory but fails to store it long term
- The user interface is not intuitive, I am lead to believe it was a rushed or money saving product for the company (very little investment in software and apps).
- must connect each time you read from device
- if you use the device and had the wrong person selected, good luck removing that without clearing the device memory. I did not do this and each time the incorrect persons reading comes up on the app and I have to remove it each time.
- bought it for my elderly parents and even I can’t use it without frustration.

Hire a UI expert and testing engineer!!!

### 1/5 — DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS APP!

*2020-12-05, version 1.1.3*

Let me preface by saying that the blood pressure cuff is wonderful! The App on the other hand is by far the worst! As a techie for 38 years, I can easily figure anything out. Not this. I downloaded the App, got it to work twice, and then it was totally unreliable and inconsistent. So I deleted the App. Fast forward 6 months later, and I downloaded the App again. Worse then the first time. For such a great device, you would think they would take pride in having a nice, easy App to go along with the device. The blood pressure monitor is fairly priced and can be found in abundance at Costco. Buy the device, but hand write the results.

### 1/5 — Won’t pair at all.

*2020-11-07, version 1.1.3*

If you remove Bluetooth compatibility from the equation, literally ANY BP monitor will do what this one does, many of them for less money. I bought this solely for the Bluetooth function, and it doesn’t work. Not even once.

So tired of buying technology that “kinda” works. If the software isn’t quite there yet, then don’t release it yet. Simple.

Sad to say the days of getting a quality product that functions as advertised, for a reasonable price, are behind us.

### 1/5 — Not pairing with iPhone 11 Pro Max

*2020-05-21, version 1.1.2*

I bought blood pressure monitor to send info thru Bluetooth to my iPhone 11 Pro Max, but have been unsuccessful in pairing with my phone. No sense in using this blood pressure monitor if I have to write down on a paper my daily blood pressure. Would have liked to send information to my doctor thru iPhone. Will have to return it and get another make.

### 1/5 — After 3 pairings no longer syncs

*2020-05-18, version 1.1.2*

This is my fourth blood pressure monitor. I was looking forward to the Bluetooth feature but have become so disappointed that I will return it.
It worked well for 3 measurements and pairings. Now after 3 days of trying to sync, the Bluetooth feature simply gives me the same error message and no sync... (which didn’t help my hypertension!)
It’s going back to Costco with a strongly worded admonition to quit selling this device.

### 1/5 — Collects HIPA data! Read fine print.

*2020-04-19, version 1.1.2*

I don’t think this is legal as stated in the agreement you sign. There should be an explicit HIPA agreement required to be able to collect personal data which does not, according to the agreement, exclude blood pressure.

I for one will not use this app unless it states that they will not distribute under any circumstance, nor will they even receive or collect my blood pressure data without an explicit HIPA agreement (that can be opt out of) to do so.

We should by law I believe be given the choice to have our personal medical information collected and be explicitly assured that it is not transmitted if we opt out. It doesn’t matter if we set up a false user name and false first and last name. You should not be collecting our personal data and you should state that in the agreement.

### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY - Will not connect

*2020-02-14, version 1.1.2*

I have tons of Bluetooth devices. This machine and app will cause your blood pressure to rise because it does not work. DO NOT BUY - go with another brand. Also the reviews consistently say that the machine gives false readings compared to machine at Dr.’s office.

Bad company and design! Look at ratings and review before buying. The price looks good, but not worth it.

First review I have left - this machine and the app are so bad, I felt compelled to leave a review.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2023-06-21*

The app works great and records all the data available on my blood pressure monitor. The app also supports the two selectable users. My spouse has the same app on her phone as I do, and as long as we remember to change the user, everything is kept separate.

The app also easily transfers BP and pulse to Apple health without any issue.

### 5/5 — Works like a charm.

*2022-12-09, version 1.1.5*

Ive had this for a year now and it works great. Only had to spit it once and it sends the data to my health app on my iPhone.

### 5/5 — App works flawlessly

*2021-06-25, version 1.1.3*

Read the tutorial before pairing and using the app with the monitor. As long as you follow the tutorial everything works fine. No need to pair the device every time you use the monitor.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2021-06-11, version 1.1.3*

Contrary to other reviews, it does work great if you take a moment to understand how it works. In fact, after every bp reading the Bluetooth symbol will flash, allowing you to simply go to the dashboard in the app and move the phone near the monitor, at which point you press the connect button at the top of the screen. All the readings since the last sync will automatically transfer over and then clear the memory on the monitor. No need to pair it again ever.

### 5/5 — So far, so good!

*2020-11-26, version 1.1.3*

I just bought this device from Costco two days ago and have used it twice with perfect results. I have an iPhone SE and when I finish taking my BP, I push the synch button in the app on my phone at the same time that the Microlife device Bluetooth symbol is flashing after taking by BP, indicating the device is ready to transmit the results and both times the data transferred immediately. The device is made well and the app functions correctly to record readings and allows you to send them (by email, text, or any other option on my iPhone). Very happy and would recommend this device and app to anyone looking for a good device!

### 5/5 — App works fine

*2020-11-12, version 1.1.3*

It’s a bit clunky and it’s not going to win any design awards but who cares. It does what it’s supposed to do, does it consistently, and doesn’t have any issues with maintaining pairing or syncing. Sends data to HealthKit. The device itself is far more accurate than any other I’ve owned, except maybe a manual cuff and a stethoscope - and even then I think the device is probably better.

Instructions could use a little work on getting Bluetooth paired the first time but overall this is fine.

### 5/5 — Thanks to one of the other reviewers...

*2020-10-27, version 1.1.3*

The app does work properly, but a lot of the instructions were left out of the manual. Go into Dashboard and follow instructions and it will do what needs to be done. The product is made in China. The instructions must have been written there too.

### 5/5 — It works perfectly

*2020-06-18, version 1.1.3*

The problem with all of the bad reviews is that they did NOT read the instructions. This app works perfectly if people would just read. The app is so easy that a monkey could use it. So stop whining.

### 5/5 — Works Perfectly

*2020-03-06, version 1.1.2*

Works perfectly for my wife and I. Setup wasn’t super smooth because initially we couldn’t figure out how to pair it. Just add your profile then after that click the sync symbol in app after starting the pairing on the device. From that point on, you manually click sync after every reading in app. Works great and saves to Apple Health! Hopefully my doctor will be able to see this someday.

### 5/5 — Good HBP monitor and easy to use

*2020-02-07, version 1.1.2*

I bought it from Costco and had doubts to keep it because of bad reviews on App. I have it a try, and overall impression remained positive.
I had no problem to sync up measurement from monitor to my iPhone App. For those who had issues, please use circular arrows icon in the right top corner after synchronization is offered on monitor screen. If you didn’t make it during the allocated time, your measurement remains on monitor, and it will be offered to save again next time you measure BP.
Also App allows to keep or delete u wanted data (for example guest results) to keep personal queue neat.
My BP is not stable, therefore I can’t control accuracy of this device. But when my spouse measures BP results seem accurate.
