### 2/5 — Used to be great

*2022-12-14*

Stupid move to not allow individual subscriptions. As an independent clinical pharmacist I had my own subscription for many years. Used the application all the time. Now you can’t log in unless you have an institutional subscription. Bad customer service and now a useless app.

### 1/5 — Total Failure!

*2022-08-19*

Used for years, out of my own pocket. Recently refused to log me in, even with password changes.
Contacted support…worthless! No response at all! I’ve used the MicroMedex Drug Info and Drug Interactions for decades, going back to the USP-DI.
I never rely on a single data source, since there are often variances between the data bases. Seeing what I’m dealing with has become a common issue, where is tech support!!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2022-08-13*

Updates have made this useless - I can no longer log in, nor can I get any support from the company to log in. I have paid for this app for years, but cannot use it any longer as the company has made it an unworkable product. How is it possible that a “technology” company doesn’t have any easy way to reset and store passwords for their app. Don’t bother to purchase this, it won’t help.

### 1/5 — Can’t log in anymore

*2022-08-08*

This used to be my go-to app when I wasn’t working with access to my work resources. They recently did an update to where you can only access it if you are provided it by your employer or had previously paid for it. I have been paying for it, and when it updated, it signed me out and is asking for the password from my employer 😡

### 1/5 — Can’t get in

*2022-02-14, version 2.0.1*

After the app updated haven’t been able to log into my account. Is a great reference if you can use it but, has lots of issues.

### 1/5 — Impossible to Log In

*2022-01-17*

I have used Micromedex since 2011. Now, I can’t log in through the app. I don’t remember my password and then when I try to retrieve it, I am redirected to IBM Solutions and this site doesn’t even list the Micromedex app as an option to go to. I have paid for this app on my own for years (not through my hospitals subscribing).
It has become simply impossible to log into. I am so disappointed. This has been my favorite drug guide, and as a nurse I use this information daily in providing direct patient care in an acute setting. My hospital is using Lexicomp and I guess that’s going to be what I have to switch to.
IBM, you’ve ruined Micromedex for me.

### 2/5 — IBM Micromedex Drug Ref

*2021-10-21*

This app used to be very good. Now that I started paying for an individual subscription annually, each annual renewal is a total cluster disaster. No renewal payment option is attached to the iPhone app download, so no user password is issued to me to unlock the application. The online support process and phone support for license renewal and acquisition of a working password is unworkable and fails every time.

### 1/5 — Can’t login, help link is useless

*2021-05-17, version 1.80.4*

This app should be a Harvard Business School case study in how a big company can ruin a once-excellent product, in this case an app.

Actually, IBM did the same thing to The Weather Channel app.

### 2/5 — Stopped working

*2021-02-16, version 1.80.4*

I had been using this app for years until recently it just stopped downloading content. Tried reinstalling, still doesn’t work.

### 2/5 — Fix Drug Class search

*2019-10-17, version 1.80.3*

Been using this app for years. One of the more useful features has been to search by drug or by drug class. With recent updates the drug class search is gone. Fix this please.

### 1/5 — Password issues

*2019-04-27, version 1.80.1*

Great app when the password isn’t “expired” every 10 seconds

### 3/5 — Possible error caused by retained cache

*2019-04-23*

If the App is not closed, the cache is not cleared even when an update is imported. This results in prior drug info displaying even when selecting a new drug in the search. If not careful in noting that the new search info did not pull up, this can lead to dosing or other errors. The App should clear its cache with each new search or update to prevent errors.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2019-04-16, version 1.80.1*

I hate this app. It never works. You’ll click on one drug and it just never shows up. Don’t download!

### 1/5 — Will not open

*2019-01-10*

App just crashes
Cannot open or use it

### 3/5 — Lost app

*2018-12-23, version 1.80.1*

Hi, I lost my app after new update.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No access … but I paid!!!

*2023-09-24*

Very bad support, they don’t answer to my request. My password do not work anymore.

### 1/5 — No longer able to log in

*2023-01-04*

Have been using this app for years and have been paying to use it since graduating from school. Disappointed about this change as Micromedex is one of my favorite medication reference…

### 1/5 — No longer useful

*2023-01-02, version 3.0.0*

Paid for a year but now it’s unavailable. At least let the users that paid finish out their year instead of locking them out.

### 1/5 — Refund for users that were cut off

*2022-12-17, version 3.0.0*

If they are going to change the login requirements, and cut off their paying subscribers, they need to give a pro rated refund to everyone who paid for a full year subscription and lost access.

### 1/5 — Used to be the go to App

*2022-12-11, version 3.0.0*

Tots

Used to be go to app, but now no longer supported. It was no longer supported as of The end of November, the first time I received notice of this was Dec 9. Thanks for the timely heads-up IBM (intense sarcasm intended). IBM now recommends Dynamedex with “Watson” AI integrated. It is useless and I refuse to interact with “Watson” I will find another alternative app.

### 1/5 — Absolute horror

*2022-12-10*

This app is so useful but your idiotic restore ID system happens a lot and is always broken. Now I’m completely locked out. Haven’t been able to use it for days and your worthless customer support never answers

EDIT: it’s been months now and I literally have no idea what my password should be. I use what I had it set to previously with no luck. Your suriner support is wholly incompetent and so I now have an absolutely useless app.

### 1/5 — Once a great resource

*2022-12-07, version 3.0.0*

Until it just became subscription only. Why not allow individual subscribers??!! Back to ePocrates for me.

### 1/5 — Password Issues

*2022-12-01, version 3.0.0*

The password expired in the middle of my call. No warning and no access. I used to use this app a lot but have moved on. It will expire when you need it most and you won’t have time to call customer service. Buyer beware.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2022-10-31, version 2.1.1*

So disappointed that they are no longer allowing people to use this app. I was kicked out without any warning and just thought I was having login issues. After a bunch of emails I finally am told I am not allowed to renew my subscription.

### 1/5 — New company merative absolute disappointment

*2022-10-02*

This company called merative which is apart of ibm or another entity is completely useless. I spent at least an hour on the phone trying to restore my account only to find out that I am no longer able to access the content because my employer doesn’t support the app and they no longer allow subscriptions from private clients. I have been using this drug reference as apart of my career for 10 plus years and without warning was cut off access. How unfair and disappointing. I wish management would really consider how stupid this move was. No longer recommending this as one of my most respected drug references.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Sunsetting

*2022-11-01*

Will users who paid for a full year of the app receive a prorated refund?

### 5/5 — Great app

*2022-05-20*

I had to take the time out to rate this app due to the low ratings. I have used this app since 2019 when I was an FNP student in clinicals. This app has been a life saver, it has everything from pediatric/adult dosing and everything in between all the way to clinical teaching. It even works offline which I need at work.

### 5/5 — Best drug info app

*2022-03-06, version 2.0.2*

Best drug info app I have ever used. Succinct and detailed information.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2014-11-23, version 1.66.0*

I have loved Micromedex for the past 8 or so years I've been using it, and am so glad to have it as an app on my phone. I honestly cannot understand the poor reviews. It contains just about any basic information you need on any drug. It saves me buying the Davis' drug book every couple years. I too had the problem of the app crashing as soon as I opened it after an update. I deleted the app and reinstalled it, and it worked flawlessly! As for the password thing, if you work for, or have clinicals at a hospital just go on the Micromedex site there and you can find their mobile password. If not, $2.99 a year for updated drug info is a small price to pay! You pay much more for a drug handbook that is outdated quickly.

### 5/5 — Thank you!!

*2014-10-18*

It's working again!! Great app!!

### 5/5 — Extremely valuable tool.

*2014-08-13*

I live in the country and a long way from a pharmacy. This app allows me to gain information on the drugs in our house at short notice.

### 5/5 — This is for web subscribers only! Get the $2.99 version if you are not a web subscriber!

*2014-04-10, version 1.57.0*

Many people rated this app 1 star because they seemingly didn't understand that it is only to be used if your institution has a micromedex subscription, and those that do subscribe couldn't figure out how to get their password. Truven created this version so that they can offer the mobile app as part of a subscription package, without requiring the subscribers to the web version to also buy the app separately AND to be able to offer the app to those who don't want the full web subscription. If you do not have a subscription, there is a $2.99 per year version that you can buy and use without having a subscription to micromedex. Look for that one if this situation applies to you! If you are a web subscriber, log in on the web and click "mobileMicromedex" on the top left to get your password. Overall the micromedex app works very well and I would recommend it to any pharmacist or student. (I am a pharmacy student - and no, I don't work for Truven :)

### 4/5 — Winding Up Customers !!!

*2020-05-12, version 1.80.4*

Finally I downloaded it !
Thanks so much !

### 4/5 — Won't open on iOS 8

*2014-09-24*

Great app but won't open since I updated to iOS 8

### 3/5 — Does not work with “dark screen” iPhone update

*2019-11-14*

This app does not work with the new iPhone update. The brightness of my iPhone hurts my eyes so I chose the dark settings with the new iPhone update and literally all of the words on neofax are black. You can’t even read them at all. The only way that you can read what is under the title is by clicking a black row to see which medication it is. So this is really not helpful when I need to see a quick medication dose at work
