All of the important features are free to use and it’s very optimized, at least on the pc version. The mobile version for some reason has one aspect ratio and I just think that’s a big feature that’s missing for no reason. That’s the only thing wrong with it but it’s a pretty big thing. ### 2/5 — Sub Par *2026-03-17, version 2.3.16* I need a video editor that allows me to add iTunes music. Clipchamp is great on PC, but not worth anything as an app on iPhone. ### 4/5 — Good For Short Videos *2026-03-08, version 2.3.16* The best thing about this video editing app is that it’s easy to use and free. You can pay for extra features, but I never saw it necessary for the type of videos I make. I mainly make YouTube Shorts and this app is prefect for that. I have used the PC version for longer style videos and it’s hit and miss. Sometimes the picture, sound and/or transition comes out choppy. For this version, the editing process can sometimes be frustrating. The video will look choppy during editing and the sound will sometimes cut off. I will have to close the app and reopen it for the sound to come back. When I process the video, there is no choppiness though. The only choppiness I have when the video is processed is the video transitions. I will have to go in and switch the transition or substitute it for a fade out to get it to go away. At times, the only filter that will work is the black & white filter. I also can’t figure out how to move the captions. They will always stay at the bottom of the video and it won’t let me click on the texts to move them. There is plenty of options when it comes to effects, filters (when it works), texts and transitions. If you want a free app to get started with and learn how to edit, this is the one for you. This is the video editor I taught myself how to use and other editors are pretty similar to this one. I do have an older IPhone (XR). When videos would finish rendering, they’d automatically start saving directly to my computer. Now, you have to pretty much upload it or save it yourself and you get about a 50% chance of it actually doing its job. This feature is absolutely terrible and has ruined this site.
