### 2/5 — Needs an update

*2017-10-18, version 4.7*

I use this to stay connected to my team but now since the latest upgrade on the iPhone IOS this doesn’t work. When do you plan on upgrading?

### 2/5 — Update

*2017-10-12, version 4.7*

When will you do the update for the new IOS 11 ??? Apparently tge app will not work without you do an upgrade. I use this app a lot and would like it to continue to work

### 2/5 — Works OK

*2016-08-04, version 4.7*

Does what I need it to do (most of the time). Would upgrade to Skype for Business but my company doesn't support it.

Most annoying thing is the constant pop up telling me that my calls are not forwarded. I know they aren't and there is not way to turn off the pop up.

### 3/5 — Pretty good but would like to see..

*2015-08-13, version 4.7*

Would like to see a feature that displays notifications. I have the function enabled on my iPhone but the app does not alert me.

### 3/5 — App does work with iOS 8.

*2014-10-10, version 4.7*

UPDATE: If you're having issues with this app force closing after you upgraded your firmware to iOS 8, all you have to do is delete the app and reinstall it.

This worked for me and I have an iPhone 6 with 8.0.2.

This app did work well prior to the release of iOS 8. Once you update your phone's OS, the app won't even open. The developers for this app haven't issued an update to their app since April 2013, so I doubt they still support this app/will be releasing an update to make this compatible with iOS 8.

### 2/5 — Where's the message?

*2014-07-30, version 4.7*

While I like having access to reach out to my team while away, I don't like that a message will pop up in my notifications then not show in the actual message. They become ghosts.

### 2/5 — Kinda works . Mostly crap .

*2014-05-24, version 4.7*

Well , I appreciate that MS has a lync app for iphone , but don't expect it to be good enough for business .

Most of the time I receive notifications of a message but it's not in the Lync app. I have missed countless messages .
So "sorry I was on mobile, can you resend" becomes the norm.

Most of the time I get an annoying server error but it's still "working".

If you are logged into pc and mobile app... Well .. Good luck to you.

If you need something stable , try google hangouts . Otherwise you can waste time chasing messages from people.

### 3/5 — Good but not perfect

*2014-04-07, version 4.7*

This is not optimised for iPhone 5. It still shows same size as of iPhone 4
Another problem is too many bugs like name n status doesn't update as always.

### 2/5 — Not very functional

*2014-02-04, version 4.7*

If you are depending on this as a reliable means of communication, I would not! It not very efficient and there does not seem to be a way to configure notifications to let you know you hav a new message. Much more development needed to make this worthwhile. It would seem you hav to have the app open in order to know you have a message and your desktop version needs to be closed in order to receive on your phone.

### 3/5 — Works but tiny font

*2013-12-27, version 4.7*

App is a bit slow but acceptable. What is in bad need of improving is the font size which is about a 3-4 point size. No adjustment is possible so you are stuck at this size.

### 1/5 — Blank messages

*2013-10-25, version 4.7*

Message comes through on banner when multitasking on phone (in another application) but message disappears in conversation window once back in Lync. Sender also gets a "message undeliverable" response on that attempt, even though it came through on banner notification. Please fix.

### 1/5 — Buggy! How hard could this be??

*2013-10-03, version 4.7*

I also have the issue with the notifications. I receive the notification but the actual IM does not appear in the Lync application. So I have to log-in on my laptop and ping the person asking if they were looking for me. Completely useless…and disappointing to say the least.

### 1/5 — Lync is going crazy!

*2013-09-18, version 4.7*

I've had this app for a while and for some reason it's freaking out lately. Even when I'm signed out on my phone, I'll get ALL the messages I would get on my computer popping up on my phone. Also, not only do they come through when they shouldn't, they come through double for each ping! It's awful! My phone starts blowing up w all these messages and then I go to clear them from lync app and it shows me I have to log in! Bizarre-please provide an update that addresses this!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work and isn’t updated with the lates Apple software

*2017-10-05, version 4.7*

You can’t see chats unless you start them. It’s slow and not fully connected. My iPhone updated last night and now the app isn’t even compatible with apples newest software

### 1/5 — More work done

*2016-06-20, version 4.7*

I like to finish my work from at times but this app does not leave off from where I left my conversations at work. I do get notifications when I receive a message but I cannot see the message at all.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2015-06-05, version 4.7*

Many companies including my own are not upgrading to 2013 because it gives MSFT our employee credentials in the cloud. So we are still stuck with 2010.

It needs to be updated if you have this many users still on it, period. It's still iPhone 4 size for Christ sake.

### 1/5 — Borderline "OK"

*2015-05-19, version 4.7*

The app does the job, but lacks support for the big screens of iPhone 5 and newer. As a result you can't see the conversation because the keyboard takes up all the space. The GUI is poor, no push notifications like every other app. Poor presentation but allows communicating with colleagues. Therefore it's borderline ok.

### 1/5 — Poor support

*2015-03-19, version 4.7*

Many organizations still use Lync Server 2010 and will not upgrade to 2013 for some time. Therefore, Microsoft should consider maintaining support for this version of Lync (as the 2013 client version does not support Lync Server 2010). This app absolutely needs the notification and synchronization bugs fixed. Also, compatibility for the iPhone 6/6+ screen size would be appreciated.

### 1/5 — Watch out for this!

*2015-01-25, version 4.7*

Called a few numbers from abroad thinking I was actually using Lync after all I was in the app. Found out later when I got my phone bill that it placed the calls direct. And I got a hefty bill.

No warning, nothing, MS garbage....rant.

### 1/5 — When is the next update?

*2014-03-19, version 4.7*

Lync 2013 looks nice, but not all organizations are running 2013 servers. This version has not been updated since last year and does not sync conversations with the server. If you don't tap the notification when a message comes in, you're SOL with that conversation. You have to annoy the sender and start a new conversation to respond. C'mon Microsoft.

### 1/5 — No iPhone 5/5c/5s screen nor Retina graphics

*2013-12-12, version 4.7*

Come on Microsoft, it's been plenty of time after the introduction of the iPhone 5 (and subsequent models) and the graphics are prehistoric (not retina adapted) and screen size is not being adapted to 4" screens as well.
I know there's the 2013 version but when you are set to use this one you're screwed.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2013-11-26, version 4.7*

Absolute disregard for their customers.

This app only works if you are the sending party. If you're receiving an IM, you will get the notification but the message will never show up. As far as the screen sizing? They obviously don't care at all about iPhone 5 users. This thing is a joke.

### 1/5 — MS - Go back to the drawing board

*2013-11-17, version 4.7*

Okay… I get it, why put a lot of development support in the “2010” version when 2013 is out. Unfortunately, our enterprise just moved from 2007 to 2010 within the last year… let alone even think about 2013 or 365. I would like to see 2010 support in the 2013 app and just maintain one app. Push notification bugs are my biggest issue with the app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love it! Only able to use this version

*2017-04-17, version 4.7*

It keeps prompting me to upgrade but this is ONLY one that works on Iphone so will not. Please do not remove this version. Works great

### 5/5 — Awesome but needs improvement

*2016-08-23, version 4.7*

Overall I like the idea of using Lync on iPhone but it need to be able to send notifications and designed to fit iPhone 6

### 5/5 — Maximum Productivity

*2016-02-02, version 4.7*

For when that important conversation just can't wait for you to use the restroom.

### 5/5 — Works!

*2014-07-02, version 4.7*

Simple and it works! Not sure why there's such a low rating. You just have to get necessary information from your company to connect.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2013-10-15, version 4.7*

Works fine for me and I can keep in touch even when I don't have my computer on me which is very helpful.

### 5/5 — Works Great!

*2013-07-18, version 4.7*

No problems with my iPhone 5. I may be missing something here, but it works great and I'm not expecting much more. I just want it to do the job, and it does.

### 4/5 — Update to IOS 11

*2018-04-04, version 4.7*

You may wish to update to IOS 11 to enable the software run on that platform.

Thanks

### 4/5 — Works fine for me.

*2014-04-22, version 4.7*

This app is simple, and while I would like more functionality I haven't had any issues using it with my company. It would be nice if they bundled Lync 2010 compatibility into 2013 and kept it up to date. Those of use who's companies only support 2010 are stuck on this old version.

### 4/5 — Helps me be mobile and still available

*2013-06-06, version 4.7*

Great way to keep connected with my enterprise team. Nice UI, good use of iPad layout.

Issue: when I'm mobile, desktop users complain that messages to me fail although I get about 50% of them. Makes me not totally trust being mobile.

Idea: Integrate with corporate digital phone system (cisco, etc) so I have true VoiP when traveling internationally.

### 4/5 — I hope the notifications are fixed

*2013-04-11, version 4.7*

I really want to use 2013 version but my company uses this version. Hopefully this update fixes the notifications issue
