I’ve tried to make my own manual backups but then I’ve not been able to load those correctly. Also, when I’m typing tom my laptop, the scroll bars start scrolling left and right and up and down. Microsoft creates mediocre products that have the potential to be great. Nothing new there. I still choose to use OneNote despite the fact it drives me insane! ### 4/5 — Love this app *2026-08-17, version 16.113* My go-to app for taking notes on all kind of miscellaneous ideas and things up I need to keep track of. I love being able to seamlessly share my notebooks on multiple platforms and devices: laptop, iPad, phone. I also like being able to link notes. Is it better than other apps? I don’t really know. All I can say is that it does the job for me. You’ve taken away my ability to host my notebooks on my workstations and forced the active notebook to be stored in the cloud. The result is the app is clunky and slow when you’re doing any volume work with it. If you want this app to be anything more than a pretty toy, It’s time for a refresh and to fix the structure so it returns the performance. Its functionality is awesome. A couple of tweaks could make it even better. Working with tables are janky. It’d be better to wrap text, adjust columns easier, etc - like Excel. It’s also not possible to edit a pic you paste in - like crop it. Microsoft shows no love for Mac or iOS apps. There are features that exist in the windows version that don't exist here. I used to love OneNote. Been using it since college. I’ve been using OneNote since high school to take notes. I’ve had the same iPad since then. It worked for the most part—but I’ve had to deal with obnoxious bugs throughout my years using the app. (auto-deselecting a marker when I use my Apple Pencil to write, extremely clunky syncing making it difficult to access my notes, version differences appearing for no reason, etc.) They’ve never made the app literally unusable until now. In the past month, I discovered that the app wasn’t syncing with my laptop version of OneNote. I tried to sign in with my University Microsoft account, and it didn’t work. I just got stuck. I tried uninstalling but that didn’t fix it- instead it just locked me out of taking notes on my iPad at all. I tried installing PowerPoint as a workaround but I had to install an older version due to my iPad’s age and it has this problem too. I looked into it online and other people have been having this problem, but most people say it’s been fixed with the newest update. Here’s the problem: you pushed the recent update that caused the issue, but then you limited the update that actually *fixes* the issue to IOS 18 and above. Three months ago I could take notes just fine. Now my iPad is apparently obsolete. I don’t know if you can push updates that are compatible with older versions, but if you can, please fix this. I literally cannot use the app without it and this planned obsolescence outcome is absolutely infuriating. ### 1/5 — I find this app very difficult to use. This was to the point where I had to stop using it. Tried every suggestion mentioned online to remedy the situation to no avail. Very poor response from the vendor on solutions or support.
