Gibt es da Animositäten? Ich konnte es in Logic für iPad adressieren, habe aber momentan keine Anwendung dafür. ### 4/5 — A brilliant addition to my guitar rig *2025-02-21, version 10.6.6* I'm writing this review to thank the makers for doing a great job. I use the app as a midi controller for the Line6 Helix. I have it set up so I can control a few favourite parameters from the ipad. This is the equivalent of bending down and twiddling the pedal knobs but far more convenient. I'm surprised we don't see more guitarists with ipads / screens as part of their rigs for just such uses. If you are thinking of a similar use-case, I recommend fully. Sorry for not giving 5 star - I almost never do. But if I could improve things, maybe I would make programming the app a bit easier and more intuitive. I use a widi jack to connect wirelessly over bluetooth and it's been a game changer. Fun uses: - Controlling my pedals from across the room while sat comfortably on the couch - Accessing hidden controls (no more menu diving) - Saving/recalling settings - no more struggling to remember dial positions The developer also updates the app regularily. ### 2/5 — Interesting BUT *2024-06-08* I payed for a whole app without constant access denied to the other quintessential pages of this app which could make it in fact a highly versatile and effective midi control solution;BUT apparently i have to pay twice to get an usable app...more fluff than anything else at this point... **Developer response:** You don't have to pay twice. If you bought before we went free, you have access to Premium forever. If you didn't, then you have to subscribe to Premium for Premium features. Kudos to the developer for listening and for making things right! [earlier review] I have mixed feelings writing this. I’ve received outstanding value from Midi Designer over the years. However, the way of handling the move to subscription model was very poor! You just don’t take functionality away from a product after the fact when someone purchased it! At the very least they should have placed a big fat warning on the update that triggered this! Ideally they should have stopped sales of the app and launched a new one. The reasons they gave for not doing that are bogus IMO. So … deleting the app on principle. Dan ### 5/5 — Steep learning curve, but extremely versatile. *2024-02-08* It really isn’t difficult once you understand it, but the interface definitely takes some getting used to. Once you do, you’ll be able to whip up a custom control set in no time. I’ve barely scratched the surface so far. My semi modular synth only had a couple of assignable parameters, but there are over a dozen different options for one of the outputs on the patch bay that is buried deep in a menu (on a synth with no screen). I quickly figured out how to make a grid of buttons to send out the program change signal for each one. Now I can change the parameter instantly without having to even open the menu. The app is definitely function over form, but gives you the tools to quickly design and program a MIDI control surface for your hardware and software synths, and any other conceivable use for it. Not to mention the integration with a MIDI-based scripting language. The possibilities really do seem endless. I do hope the interface is easier to navigate in future updates. It is very difficult to make things look nice, and feels like the interface works against you. However, the devs are still active and frequently updating. It crashes within 20 seconds of opening it. I tried restarting my iPad. I deleted and reinstalled the app. I had high hopes, as this app was recommended for a few pieces of hardware I use that could benefit from the interface this would provide if it didn’t crash. I did just update the os, so perhaps it will work soon. ### 1/5 — Broken on latest update. *2025-07-10, version 10.7.0* Shuts down by itself after this latest update. Cant keep it open more than 5 seconds on iPhone 16 pro with 1tb please fix ### 1/5 — Immediately delete *2025-03-31, version 10.6.6* There is no clear way to get out of each screen and go back to previous screen. I had to exit the app every time. It’s a clunky mess and doesn’t seem to fit the screen correctly. The controls are not clear and I kept accidentally changing settings when I was trying to figure out how to resize it to fit. I then tried the “tutorial” (after exiting and restarting app several times) but it’s just a YouTube playlist and not a tutorial. I’m not even considering the paid version if I can’t figure out the free version. This looks like it was made then abandoned. It could have been really good. Now I'm supposed to pay monthly to be able to use the same functions even though I paid the full price back then? I find that pretty unfair and dubious. My original review which I have now deleted, was an extremely wonderful and glowing review of this app. my question to the coders is simply this. By updating this app after I have already paid in full for it, what features am I losing if I’m not going to pay a subscription which I am not going to? Runs nicely in Logic Pro for iPad. Makes it much easier to deal with external hardware synths from inside Logic, and all settings and layouts are recalled with the Logic project. ### 5/5 — Superior tool *2025-12-24, version 10.9.0* Works well on my Mac mini M1 with macOS 15.x. Perfect for all kinds of MIDI work. Mostly use it for pedal controls and presets. Customer service is responsive and helpful. I Love This MIDI app ! *2024-08-06, version 10.6.1* I wasn’t dinged with a subscription after updating. I was very worried as I can’t afford that and have used this mostly for my Roland JD-990 for a long long time. For panels that don’t exist, I think it might not be a bad idea for the developers to create their own to sell as IAPs. Still hoping for the JV-2080, etc. The UI is cleaner and the app is faster Dan was helpful with explanations that if you bought it from 2012 - 2024 and you’re using the same AppStore account, you’re automatically upgraded with no subscription. That worked without any issues. Or, you’d have to contact him to sort it out.
