### 3/5 — Buggy

*2015-04-26*

Works but not always. Has yet to be updated for new iOS screen sizes, which makes it feel like it has been abandoned.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2013-01-19, version 3.0.4*

Latest update is ridiculously buggy. User interface is archaic.

### 1/5 — Doesn't seem to support ipad 3

*2012-12-18, version 3.0.4*

New firmware apparently supports iPad 3. Hasn't worked for me. I've even tried to update the firmware from and older version and it still isn't working. Buy another adapter if you have an iPad 3 or later.

### 1/5 — Another shout out for a stop button

*2012-12-03, version 3.0.4*

If you show a stop button on the Ipod screenshot then don't be surprised when people moan if it mysteriously dissapears.
I have been posting in their support forum and raised this on a support ticket with Line 6 and I've not even had an acknowledgment of an 'issue' from them. Poor show!

The midi mobilizer II I bought is useless without this feature. If I move on to another song it starts playing from where the last one left off. If you haven't reached the end of the song in a live set this can be disastrous.

I'll change the rating when someone does something about this (I would give 0 stars if I could!)

Fix it please Line 6.

### 1/5 — Don't update to 3.0.4

*2012-11-11, version 3.0.4*

This version is practically unusable. After starting playback on a song, it is not possible to restart the song or load a different song until the current one finishes. Or you have to exit and reload the app. The previous version was just about the simplest app possible. It did exactly two things: record midi data and play back midi data. This version breaks one of those two features.

### 1/5 — Super buggy after last update

*2012-09-11*

Start playing back one 'memo' and want to switch? You need to force quit the app and restart. Accidentally enable record mode during playback? The app gets confused -- you need to force quit and restart. Has this thing ever been tested? Basic midi record and playback should not be this broken. I tried to contact technical support to report these issues, but their support site seems to work about as well as the app -- i.e. not at all.

### 3/5 — Stop button?!?!?

*2012-08-17, version 3.0.4*

It was great until the STOP button was mysteriously removed!

A STOP button is essential!

PLEASE PUT IT BACK!!

### 2/5 — Add import option

*2012-06-02*

Nice app, but need an import option so I can play back my Sibelius and Finale files. Without that, I can only do half of the things I wanted the hardware for.

### 1/5 — Obsolete in 6 months, no upgrade path. Avoid! Be warned!

*2012-01-25*

Extremely disappointed! Worst investment I've made in a while. The industry switched drivers to the so called "CoreMIDI" standard, which is simply a driver change, and Line6 can't offer some type of update path? Their solution is to buy a whole new MIDI interface to work with any of the new apps. They didn't even offer a discount to us 1st gen users, though a software update should have been able to fix this. Totally Ridiculous.

          Thanks Line6....Not :(

### 3/5 — Can export MIDI files, but not import

*2012-01-10*

This app can:

- record a MIDI performance
- download a MIDI patch from a MIDI device
- upload the performance that you just recorded, or the patch that you just downloaded, to another MIDI device
- export recorded MIDI files to your computer

What it can't do:

- import standard MIDI file from your computer

### 4/5 — Midi memo

*2011-04-15, version 2.0.3*

Simple but it works. You have to play your computer's midi track and record it onto the phone in real time. No way I can see of transferring midi files. Once the song is on there its one button control makes it simple for playing backing tracks in a live situation. Not sure yet what happens if you receive a call or text while in the middle of a song. Will have my lap top with me as a backup just in case. Looking forward to upgrades or new software to rum the Midi Mobilizer.

### 2/5 — garageband support

*2011-04-01, version 2.0.3*

please support garageband

### 3/5 — Needs work

*2011-03-18, version 2.0.3*

For my personal use it's somewhat limited. A few additions I would like to see are a folders system and a loop function (continuously play memos).

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Please modernize!!

*2018-08-28*

Got an adapter for my iphone 7 to use the cords, just need the software to update!!

### 1/5 — Line 6 Abandoned its MobileKeys Customers!

*2016-03-29*

I thought Line 6 was better than this! Line 6 stopped updating this app long ago. It does not work (without undocumented hacks) under iOS 9. C'mon Line 6!

### 1/5 — Ne reconnaît pas tous les claviers!!!

*2015-05-25*

### 1/5 — When it works, it's excellent.

*2014-10-26*

I use this with my mobile keys 49, and when it works, it's great. It is compatible with almost every great synth app out there, and is very stable and user friendly. Unfortunately, any time there is an iOS update, it completely stops working. This app almost never updates, and leaves the user to troubleshoot when hardware doesn't work. If this worked with every major mobile os, i would give them some slack, but issues should be resolved without making a user wait for 8+ months each time. It's very very frustrating.

### 1/5 — màj, vite

*2014-05-06*

### 1/5 — Gig nearly ruined

*2014-04-20, version 3.0.4*

This software is required to make the Line 6 midi mobiliser II work. After 7 solid rehearsals with it triggering Nanostudio, my iphone 4 reports "This device is not supported by this phone" ... ON A GIG whilst setting up. Nanostudio can't now see it.

Thankfully, as a pro I have backup solutions on which I can truly rely. If you're a pro do not use. You don't know when you be left stranded.

### 1/5 — Don't use!!

*2014-01-12*

My brand new Mobile 25 keyboard was working fine until I downloaded this app and did a firmware update to keyboard. Now keyboard no longer works at all !

### 1/5 — Ne fonctionne plus correctement

*2013-06-09*

Impossible de passer d'un enregistrement à l'autre. Et pire l'enregistrement ne semble plus fonctionné....

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best thing since sliced bread

*2013-10-30*

To someone with a twin tube rack mount that hasn't been able to remember its own name since I bought it over 20 years ago, the idea of a pocket device that I can dump and pull sysex data to is awesome. Now I can program the midi preamp however I want and not worry about the memory.

### 5/5 — All You need from a simple MIDI librarian.

*2011-12-03*

I think this turned out to be one of the most handy music tools for ios I have.

Installed and got it working with the mobilizer 2 on both the ipad2 and iPad touch - recording, saving and sending sysex dumps in about a minute.

At first I thought installing it in order to use the mobilizer was an obtrusive nuisance but I'm using this a lot as a backup buffer when sound designing, so it's turned out to be really a nice bonus app with the mobilizer.

### 5/5 — Does what it says it will do.

*2011-11-17*

Does what it claims to be able to do. Relevant to my needs.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2011-09-09*

Great concept. It delivers. Nothing bad to say. Only thing I'd add is an optional scrolling textual midi message monitor mode lol. But only if it can be turned off.

### 5/5 — Must Have

*2011-03-30, version 2.0.3*

The Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer and this MIDI Memo Recorder are must haves for any musician working with any gear the has a MIDI interface. I wish more developers would build apps for the MIDI Mobilizer because it's the most portable way to use MIDI. No need for computers, I have a MIDI controller in my pocket.

### 5/5 — Line 6 POD XT Live MIDI

*2010-11-16*

A must have for any one who owns a Line 6 POD XT Live. Record a riff or custom tone in a matter of seconds. I'm sure the guys over @ Line 6 are brewin up new apps with all types of goodies. Line 6 has never let me down. Their technology is always one step ahead, just check out their New Wireless Systems.....Finally someone got it right. Thanks Line 6

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2010-06-05, version 0*

You gotta have this app if you've got the MIDI Mobilizer. It delivers on it's promise as the ultimate portable MIDI solution

### 5/5 — Superb, why have we waited so long?

*2010-04-29, version 0*

Being 'old school' and still using midi sequences, midi data recorders and floppy disks, i've been waiting for something like this to come along. Thinking that the 'midi' fraternity had been forgotten about, I was flabbergasted to read of Line6's Midi Mobilizer, and Apples Midi Memo 'app'. So went straight out and bought one, along with an ipod touch. I recorded some quite busy sequences into it, then played it back without a hiccup - superb! and almost too easy..... there must be a catch. I'll miss my Elka CR99 and boxes full of floppies..... Well done to Line6 and Apple. Thanks very much.

### 4/5 — Worked fine for me

*2014-02-10*

I installed this app into my iphone 4 to use my new line 6 mobile keys 25. Out of the box it would not work with a 3rd party synth app saying that my device was not supported on my phone. I installed this app and updated the firmware and she works like a champ! Fast and easy. As far as the recording ability built into this app, it seems very vanilla and I don't expect to use it much.

### 4/5 — Midi Memo

*2011-05-18, version 2.0.3*

ABOUT TIME!!! After over a year we now have a version that works. I have now deleted the beta version you sent me back in Oct in favour for this version.

It’s now a cracking little bit of kit, no legacy problems, it cope with more than 13 files, which the old version couldn’t! Its fast, the GUI is easy to understand, I love the big buttons. The only thing that lets it down is that you have to load files in real time so very time consuming.
