Tried to get support but the web page that comes up looks suspicious. Not even using the internal sounds. Since I am using my phone I put it into airplane mode as I am getting alerts about a storm. It seems to be ok after that. Very useful app so I hope that is the issue. Wish there was a way to have piano to guitar chords and also be able to strum manually. **Developer response:** Thanks for the great feedback. This is where I get into more detail than I could ever do using the help. ### 4/5 — Crashes so much *2024-01-15* i love this app and it has excellent sounds but i can’t have like more than 2 tracks of this plugin open in garageband before it corrupts the entire track and makes the project impossible to open and the plugin just does not work. I’m seriously opening and closing my apps with each minor adjustment and saving via Impc 2 (thankfully) just before it crashes. Also I can’t use more than two instances of the app as a plug-in without it crashing. I have used this app since Covid hit in 2019 with the different iOS, iphones, iPads etc same story. I don’t find the song creation as useful as I’d like because I can’t find any way to modulate. Once you’ve picked the root chord you’re stuck with that key. Is there some way in a song pattern to insert a chord outside the key? So far I’ve had to revert to using the pads which gets tedious when recording a long sequence. Still a great app for sure! ### 3/5 — How hard can it be to get MIDI out of this thing? *2022-06-07* Well designed interface and sounds great. But other MIDI plugins have a simple button to copy and paste MIDI patterns you’ve created for easy pasting into a DAW. This one doesn’t. Why? If you’re looking for this, don’t waste your money. This will only sequence and arp the chords built into the app. Midi input is just to trigger their chords. Pretty sure this app is also a repackaged version of another one of their apps I bought thinking it would do the same thing. ### 1/5 — Latest update *2023-05-19* The was sort of working before. It was always crashing in IMPC pro 2 on iPhone 14 pro max. Now it just says failed to load, it also fails to load stand alone. Now can I’m locked out of several projects that I utilized this with. Besides the latest update was the first update in a while. I hope this can be fixed in an update soon. **Developer response:** There should be no reason for it not loading in standalone mode. Try rebooting your iPad and see if that solves the problem. ### 1/5 — It just crashes. *2023-05-05* I tried to use the help function but that isn’t working, it just takes me to some sort of dodgy looking, ever so slick site which could be an ad of some sort. It’s certainly not what I was expecting so I have no other way of reporting this fault. This was a good app but it’s now unusable as it just crashes. It certainly doesn’t work in AUM anymore. I tried deleting then reinstalling but I still get nowhere with the help link, and I’ve got a non working app. **Developer response:** This app doesn't launch web sites so something is definately wrong there. Pattern length 3, 5, 7 need to be included ### 2/5 — Has potential but… *2023-06-09* 1. You can’t change chords mid pattern in latch mode. It seems to bug out and change half the chord so it sounds terrible. 2. You can’t strum with a midi controller! You can control nearly everything except the most important thing. I want to be able to strum up and down to my own rhythm on a midi controller. Without these, it’s just a sequencer. And one where the UI is quite clunky. ### 2/5 — Great…when it works. *2023-02-07* Absolutes brilliant app apart from the fact I keep having to reboot GarageBand every five minutes to get it to be stable enough to work on a song. I constantly get the message ‘Audio unit extension quit’ on my two iPad Pros and my iPad mini. It’s just too annoying to be bothered with I’m afraid. Such a shame. ### 3/5 — Good at what it does, but could do more *2024-04-06* When making songs with a straight bpm, the strumming is serviceable especially with effects like random velocity and humanize which can add more realism so to speak to a performance. But as far as any song with a swing/triplet tempo with any sort of specific version of such, this program can’t do anything like that at all. Compare this to how logic pro for ipad allows one to offset each note in its pattern editor. In addition to playing patterns with touch pads, it will also convert incoming MIDI to guitar chords which can be arpeggiated. You can also send Strummer’s MIDI out to play another sound module. And, it’s a capable soundfont player, so you can load other sounds. The “hear what you get”-principle is included when working on chord progressions. Only a small thing could be enhanced: The colors of the actually chosen/ played chord should be stronger so that it is easier to find out which chord is best to follow the actual chord. All in all a great app to a favorable price compared for what you get. ### 5/5 — Sehr schöne App *2021-11-11* Diese Strumming App ist wirklich mit viel Liebe zum Detail entwickelt worden. Man kann musikalisch sehr viel damit anstellen. Leider ist die Bedienung an einigen Stellen nicht sehr intuitiv. Bis man eigene Strumming Patterns damit erstellt und zum Laufen gebracht hat, muss man schon ein wenig Arbeit investieren. Es wäre deshalb toll, wenn deutlich mehr Presets enthalten wären. Auch weitere Soundfont-Dateien wären sehr nützlich. Ich hoffe sehr, dass diese App weiterhin weiter entwickelt wird. It works really smoothly within Cubasis as an AUv3 Instrument, with the ability to control many of the features via MIDI notes in the track and MIDI CCs. It’s the closest equivalent to MusicLab’s RealGuitar (for PC) that I’ve found. You can create and save your own custom chords as well as the patterns and presets, and you can import your own Soundfonts if you wish. Two features that would improve it for me would be to add the ability to change chords on every half beat and quarter beat, and have the current preset name displayed at the top of the interface. ### 5/5 — The best one of its kind *2021-02-21* This is quite simply the best guitar-oriented app out there. I’ve tried others but this one beats them all. Easy to learn, but with lots of depth to investigate. It’s easy to put together guitar parts which will sit in a mix and if you know guitars it’s also very quick to use. Even if you’re not familiar with guitar it’s still well worth buying, and at such a low price the value for money is outstanding.
