### 5/5 — Indispensable App

*2019-10-28, version 2.0*

My music setup (looper based setup) would seem broken without this app. For me, there was a steep learning curve but the payoff was worth it.

### 5/5 — A MIDI Must

*2019-10-27, version 2.0*

The point is that midifire makes anything possible with midi, whether it be on your idevice only or amongst several devices. It enables anything you want as far as Routing, remapping, blocking or anything else you want to mess with with midi. There are no limits because you have a scripting language that opens it all up. Is it easy to use? It's as easy as how complex it is that you want to accomplish. Most of us will just use the built in objects that are configured by dragging from one to the other and setting parameter values. Some of us will dig in to the scripting to accomplish very very cool things that we previously thought impossible. I highly recommend midifire. If you take the time to learn the deep stuff, you will be able to do things with midi way way beyond what your music friends will probably ever be able to do. It's worth it because you will be a super hero of midi. You know the old saying about things worthwhile in life are not easy.
Have fun

### 5/5 — Functionality great. Support exceptional.

*2019-03-11*

As a complete midi novice, I needed to get the X-Key keyboard, iRig BlueBoard (with button operating as a sustain pedal) and IOS GarageBand (iPhone 6 Plus) working together over Bluetooth. For me, this was not an easy task. This app does the job perfectly. And the hand-holding pre and post-sale support from the developer (via email), to help me get everything working together, has been exceptional. I cannot recommend this app and this organisation highly enough.

### 5/5 — Powerful and very deep app, MidiFire rocks!!

*2018-11-28, version 1.15*

I had this desire to extend my 4 buttons BlueBoard pedalboard capabilities to have more controls with iOS apps and Ableton Live for my Saxloops saxophone live looping project. I needed some specific features to push my setup further. MidiFire was the way to do this: up to 6 trigger actions per button for a total of 24 actions with almost 3/4 of them triggering Loopy, with also special round robin feature for presets changing via midi notes for VoiceRack FX, and CC send with ramp up/down for knob control in AUM... and all of this can also works with Ableton DAW. There is a learning curve, but Nic dev on Audeonic forum is super helpful, giving lot of ressources and Streambyter rules to help you making your project reality. MidiFire is very stable and light on ressources, perfect for live, just look at YouTube videos to get an idea of its capabilities. 100% recommended app for advanced midi control, this will help you a lot in your music making!!

### 5/5 — Great app & amazing tech support

*2018-11-22, version 1.15*

This is the most useful app on my phone. It converts all types of midi messages and is very flexible and reliable. The tech support team are the best I've ever experienced. They are happy to help with all kinds of code writing and understanding the midi protocol. I highly recommend this app to anyone working with midi.

### 5/5 — Super handy

*2018-07-08, version 1.12*

I’m using this to merge hardware MIDI messages with TouchOSC messages and send them out to other hardware via an iConnectivity MIDI interface. I’m only using a simple use case but it works like a charm!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2018-04-09, version 1.10*

Trying to get a midi foot controller that only sends pc messages to work with an app that only accepts cc messages and MidiFire made it all work (with a bit of help from the very responsive developer). Great app!

### 5/5 — All I can say is AWESOME!

*2018-01-12, version 1.10*

I’m solo guitarist/singer using Midibridge on my iPad mini 2 to interface Stage Traxx to TC Helicon Voicelive 3 through Quicco mi.1. I’ve been working on changing my setup to use Mainstage 3 to reduce the connections I have to make during setup. MidiFire is a godsend. I can still use Stage Traxx on my iPad mini 4 and connect through core midi to my MacBook Pro. The best thing I like about the Stage Traxx - MidiFire setup is that I can send a tempo value midi message from Stage Traxx to the Dynamic Clock in MidiFire, and Mainstage concert can be set up to accept the midi clock directly from MidiFire. I reverted back to my Harmony G XT and will use Stage Traxx and MidiFire to mute harmony during performance. I will also setup my FCB 1010 with the mi.1 for manual control of Stage Traxx and Mainstage. I’m always looking for ways to get more efficient in setup and breakdown. I’ll be able to reduce the time from 15 minutes to 10 minutes. Thank for a Great app at a reasonable price!

### 5/5 — Fantastic app and service

*2017-10-10, version 1.9*

I've been looking for a solution to my live iOS setup for a while but could not find a MIDI utility that accomplished what I wanted to do. I found the MidiFire scene setup to be easy and intuitive. And not only does the Stream Byter solution inside MidiFire solve the problem nicely, Nic at Audeonic offered amazingly swift and helpful support. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Modular MIDI magic

*2017-10-04, version 1.9*

Deep, open ended, brilliant

### 5/5 — Powerful app!

*2017-10-04*

Loved MidiBridge and love this too - congratulations on a great app :)

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2017-09-27, version 1.9*

MIDIFire is an excellent app. It offers all the power of MIDIBridge and MUCH more in 64-bit (iOS 11 compatible). It has been working flawlessly for me. The Graphic user interface is beautiful, powerful, and intuitive. The ability to save my setups and easily transfer them to other iOS devices is a very welcome addition. MIDIFire should be a part of any serious MIDI user's setup. Thank you, Audeonic!

### 1/5 — Changing midi channels doesn‘t work

*2024-03-23*

Just wanted to switch to midi channel 16 with a channel strip since my bluetooth keyboard is only sending on channel 1. It doesnt work and midi wrench is still receiving data on channel 1.

### 1/5 — No ios 11 support- I was robbed

*2018-08-04, version 1.15*

I purchased the app just to use an old Synthstayion 25, only to find out that it doesn’t work on ios11. I want a refund!

### 1/5 — Pour spécialistes uniquement.

*2017-12-14, version 1.10*

### 1/5 — MidiFire

*2017-10-06, version 1.9*

Excellent app!
Solved my midi problems.
Nic Grant is a gifted developer.
His personalized help was second to none.
I highly recommend this app.
You will not be disappointed.

### 2/5 — nearly unusable user interface

*2017-09-24, version 1.9*

Clunky interface almost made me give up within minutes of first use. I dragged a module somewhat to right edge of canvas (certainly not at the edge): I found I couldn't select, delete or access this module. In fact I couldn't find any way to clear the scene I'd created (with the inaccessible module). I had to uninstall and reinstall MidiFire to escape the broken state of my first canvas. Did I not notice an initialization option?

How did the developers not experience the difficulty of use? Even in the promotional video (on discchord) the difficulty of selecting modules is obvious. Many common and expected affordances are unavailable. MidiFire clearly has serious usability issues, and the developers will need to deal with this sooner than later. The following are needed desperately:
• undo
• "initialize" or clear canvas option
• improved touch draggability for modules
• simple UI assistance for Range Filter and other modules (e.g. 'From' should update to follow 'To' if users has not edited 'From' yet)
• much UI testing, bug fixes, refinements...

MidiFire has useful features that help many audio configurations, however much time will be wasted with a terrible user interface... a real shame.

PS. I have updated to 2 stars since uninstalling and reinstalling, as its features are useful to me despite being a nearly unusable iPad app. Please note that if I were a normal user, and not a developer, I would likely have given up after running into the aforementioned UI bugs and weaknesses.

### 3/5 — Auv3 not working

*2025-12-18, version 2.1*

It doesn’t show up as auv3 in cubasis. It only works as a standalone and then routing via midi to the daw. You say in the description auv3, it should work in midi effects with auv3 if you advertise that. Take it out of the description

### 5/5 — Will this great app, by a great developer, keep up with Apple's weekly changes?

*2026-02-05, version 2.1*

I've been using MIDIfire for years now... I thought I'd written them a rave review years ago... but I can't see it here (am I going mad or did I imagine that)?! It's an absolute workhorse for anyone wanting to use iOS (or other OSs) to process MIDI messages - the sky's the limit!
But...I'm hoping that this app (and it's fabulous developer) haven't given up keeping up with the massive number of changes that Apple makes to iOS each year? On my iOS 26.x devices, this app now displays wrong. Will this be updated?
On a positive note the current version supports older iOS really well and I can still develop changes to my MIDI messaging on an older device and then pick up that file on my newer iOS. Crazy, heh?

### 5/5 — Essential

*2024-03-18, version 2.1*

This is just what I needed to coordinate the BandHelper app with a CME WIDI Jack and an AIRSTEP Lite. The monitor and filter functions are super helpful!

### 5/5 — Amazing!!

*2023-09-20, version 2.1*

Now my midi controller can do ANYTHING! plus a bunch of more stuff! Thank you audeonic apps!!

It might take you a bit to figure it out but once you do 🤯

### 5/5 — The MIDI sync solution

*2023-03-29, version 2.1*

I have been trying to get my ipad pro to communicate with my pc for months. This is the only app that has worked in conjunction with rtpMIDI. When I actually received a MIDI signal in Ableton, it was truly magical! Thank you!

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Still searching

*2022-10-17*

Is there a way to transform a midi controller range into note signals? I want to generate keyswitches from a controller (Maybe modulation wheel) so cc values from 0 to 20 would trigger a midinote c0, values from 21 to 40 would trigger the note c#0… etc… is that possible?

### 5/5 — Incredible midi resource

*2021-06-16, version 2.1*

I have been using this app for over 6 years and I keep going back to using it. The developers has contributed to my projects by providing insights and examples on the application

### 5/5 — IOS14

*2020-10-18, version 2.1*

Excellent app but don’t seem to be compatible with ios14. Can you confirm ?

### 5/5 — Indispensable Midi App

*2020-03-01, version 2.1*

This app fixes many things missing in other apps using it’s free form canvas layout. Some of the programming can go deep though so be ready for that however the developer’s forum is very helpful as is the developer.

### 5/5 — Top app

*2020-02-26*

Does everything i was looking for. Easy to use! Good manual!
