MIDIKid is a playful synthesizer designed to make creating music immediate, visual, and fun. Kids can choose sounds, layer them together, play the keyboard, and shape their music using an expressive XY pad. There are no complicated menus or intimidating synth controls standing between the player and the music — just touch, listen, experiment, and create. MIDIKid is designed especially with young musicians in mind, but it’s just as much fun for adults who want a simple, hands-on instrument for experimenting with sound. FEATURES • Play sounds directly from an on-screen keyboard • Explore sound with an interactive XY pad • Choose from a collection of sounds • Layer sounds together to create new combinations • Colorful, approachable interface designed for hands-on music making • Great for musical exploration, experimentation, and creative play • No musical experience required Whether you’re making strange new sounds, building a favorite combination, or simply seeing what happens when you move your fingers around, MIDIKid encourages curiosity and creativity. Music doesn’t have to start with lessons, rules, or theory. Sometimes it starts by touching something and discovering that it makes a really cool sound. ## Key features - On-screen keyboard for playing sounds - Interactive XY pad for sound shaping - Collection of sounds to choose from - Layering sounds for new combinations - Colorful, approachable interface - No musical experience required ## Recent user reviews (1 of 1) All indexed reviews: https://appshunter.io/ios/app/midikid/id6801957869/reviews.md ### 5/5 — Worth the money! *2026-09-02* What a great, fun app for my child and me to use! We have fun playing around with all the different sounds and combinations. We like that the pitches can change and we are in control of that. We also like the playback of what we “create”. Cool to hear all the different music we can create!! ## Frequently asked questions about MIDIKid ### What is MIDIKid? Each loop gets its own Gyro button, plus a Live button for what you're playing right now. On your own Mic recordings, tilting sweeps the tone from muffled and underwater to thin and tinny, and waving adds a wobble. - **Two-finger playing.** Tap a second finger on the pad and it picks up the sound. Lift it and the note hands back to the finger still down. - **How to play.** A guide at the bottom of page two that opens up when you want it and folds away when you don't. Every button on both pages, explained simply. - **A living background.** Soft colours drift and gently pulse along with the beat. - **A friendly warm-up.** A little swirl while the app gets ready, so your very first note is clean. **Improved** - Bigger, bolder pictures on the loop cards, the beat buttons and the sound picker — much easier for small eyes, especially on iPad. - Swiping an effect button down to pin it now switches it on at the same time, instead of making you tap it again. - Key and Songs now share a row, and the Speed, Swing, Vol and Reverb faders have room for their labels. **Fixed** - Notes now sound the instant you touch the pad. - Sliding sideways on the pad bends the note instead of flipping the page. - Playing with two fingers no longer leaves a note stuck on. - Throwing away your last loop no longer restarts the drums — the beat just keeps going. - Starting a recording while a beat is playing now waits for the top of the bar, so the count-in lands on the beat instead of wherever you tapped. - The first tap after opening the app no longer crackles. ### 1.0 — 2026-08-31 No release notes. ## More apps by BRADLEY WAYNE MYERS - [MotionMIDI](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/motionmidi/id6795993317) All apps by BRADLEY WAYNE MYERS: https://appshunter.io/developer/6795993319 --- *Data collected daily from the US App Store and indexed by [AppsHunter](https://appshunter.io/).
