## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-10-05

Motion MIDI is now MIDIPlex.

IMPORTANT AFTER UPDATING
Your presets, dials and settings are all still here. In your host apps (Loopy Pro, AUM and others), "Motion MIDI" will show as missing. Open each app's MIDI settings and select "MIDIPlex" as an input, and as an output if the host sends feedback for button lights or the fader. Saved sessions and projects need the same change once.

COLORS AND STYLES
- Color palettes: 12 built in, plus your own. Make new ones, edit them, or roll the dice for a random set.
- Give every button, dial, drawbar, morph corner and meter its own color.
- Ten styles change how controls are drawn. Five flat: Standard, Flat, Neon, Graphic and Candy. Five shaded: Clay, Glass, Metal, Soft and Plastic.
- Choose a palette and style for everything, for each side in split screen, or for a single preset.
- The app's icons now take on your palette's colors.

CC MAP
- Every dial now appears in the CC Map, including dials that only change scales or pad settings.
- Edit everything a dial step does right in the map: scale, root, range, voices, pad mode, release targets, program changes and more.
- Steps that retarget the pad's X, Y or morph corners now show their CC numbers and are checked for conflicts.

PRESET FILES
- Presets now export as .midiplex files. Older .motionmidi files still open.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-22

HELD NOTES
A new Held Notes setting in the Notes pad decides what happens
to a note once your finger lets go of it:
- Release — works as before: lift a finger or switch pads and
  the note ends
- Latch — notes keep sounding after you lift. The next fresh
touch starts a new chord; fingers added while holding join it
- Carry — plays normally, but switching to another pad keeps
whatever you were holding, so you can work the XY or Morph
pad over a sustained chord. Your first touch back in Notes
  lets it go
A HOLD chip in the pad header shows how many notes are held.
Tap it to release them all.

HOST FEEDBACK: LISTEN ON A DIFFERENT MESSAGE
A button lit by host feedback can now watch a different CC or
note, on any channel, from the one it sends. Your host can
report a widget's state on its own message, separate from the
control, and the button follows it. You can set it in the
button editor or right from the CC Map.

BUTTONS
- Add, delete and reorder buttons on iPhone as well as iPad
- iPhone now shows every button; extra ones wrap to a new row
- Show Buttons on Deck hides the whole button grid and gives
the space to the XY pad. It's saved per preset
- Reordering buttons works again on iPad

DRAWBARS
- Drawbars are now solid bars instead of thin lines
- Invert Values sends the opposite value, so a full bar sends
0, for host parameters that work backwards

CC MAP
- Smaller number and channel wheels, placed right under the
values they change, so they're harder to spin by accident

UI IMPROVEMENTS
A variety of refinements throughout the app: clearer controls,
tidier settings, and help text updated for every new feature.

FIXED
- Switching the pad out of Notes with a dial step while holding
notes no longer leaves them stuck on

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-12

Pad buttons can now follow your host.

Set a button to Host Feedback and it lights from incoming MIDI
rather than its own press — so a looper clip stays lit while it
plays and goes dark when it stops, however it stopped. Started
from the host's own screen, ended by a scene change, or run to
the end: the button tells the truth either way.

CC MAP
- Edit a button's message type, press behavior, and lit source
  directly from its row
- Add a button without leaving the map
- Collapse any section; collapsed sections still report their
  conflicts
- Shift every channel in a section up or down together
- Note buttons now appear alongside CC buttons
- With two performer surfaces, a Left / Right selector — and
conflict detection that spans both, since they share one port

STEPPED DIAL
- Steps can now reshape the pad itself: switch between Standard
XY, 4-Corner Morph, Drawbars and Notes, retarget either axis,
retarget a single morph corner, or set the release behavior
- Save a dial as a new library entry, or save over an existing
one — with a warning telling you how many presets it affects
- Pair a dial on the left surface with any dial on the right.
Turn either and both move to the same step. Names don't need
to match, and each dial keeps its own steps

XY PAD
- Morph mode has its own release targets: hold, even blend, any
single corner, or any edge centre

FIXED
- Editing the master scale, root or range now takes effect
immediately instead of sitting behind a dial step that was
  holding a different value
- Turning a dial no longer re-applies a scale from a different
dial that hasn't been touched. The dial you last turned
describes the pad; anything its step doesn't mention falls
  back to your master values

### 1.0 — 2026-09-05
