With the Midttrafik app, you can only buy single tickets for Midttrafik buses, the Light Rail (Letbanen), and Midtjyske Jernbaner. Sales of multi-ride tickets (clip cards) ended on 30 September 2025. Already purchased clip cards can be used until 31 March 2026. Sales of single tickets end on 31 march 2026. After this date, you must use either the Rejsebillet or Rejsekort app. Single tickets and clip cards are valid on Midttrafik buses, the Light Rail, and Midtjyske Jernbaner – not on DSB or GoCollective trains. You can also buy single tickets for journeys between Midttrafik and Sydtrafik/NT. Before using the Midttrafik app, you must create an account and choose a payment method. You can pay with MobilePay or link a payment card (Dankort, Visa, Visa/Dankort, MasterCard, Maestro, Visa Electron, or American Express). If your phone is set to English language, the Midttrafik app interface will be in English. You can also switch to English under the “My Account” menu. Buy your ticket in the app before your journey begins and before boarding. Make sure you have an internet connection when purchasing your ticket. The ticket can, however, be displayed without internet access. Ensure your phone has enough battery power for the entire journey so you can show your ticket during inspection. Your phone must be intact, and the ticket must be clearly visible on the screen during inspection. Single tickets and clip cards in the app are valid within the Midttrafik area for travel on Midttrafik buses, the Light Rail, and Midtjyske Jernbaner. Tickets for journeys between Midttrafik and Sydtrafik/NT are valid as described on the ticket. Single tickets and clip cards in the app are not valid for travel with DSB or GoCollective trains. It can’t read any wifi and always thinks I’m offline, leading to me accidentally buying 3 tickets because the app wasn’t showing it. I have no clue what has gone wrong with it, but I’ve restarted the app and my phone and it’s still not working. ### 5/5 — Good for tourists *2023-07-17, version 4.5.5* This is really good app in the area for day to day travel. User friendly interface and very easy to operate but tickets. Called customer service twice, tried every way possible and it won’t let me purchase a ticket. Very frustrating. ### 4/5 — Good app. Few improvements to make it great *2018-05-22, version 2.2.1* I used this app when working abroad (UK citizen in Aarhus, Denmark) for two weeks in May 2018. Overall the app is great. Payment is quick and you can get a ticket very easily... ... once you know where you are going. Aside from one trip from Aarhus to Ebeltoft, I mainly use this for commuting on one route. So, once I knew my route, I saved it as a favourite and I was sorted. At the beginning, it wasn’t so easy... The trouble with bus routes is that there are far more stops than with trains. So, finding out exactly what stop you need to take, and whether that falls into a 2- or 3- zone ticket is difficult; especially if you are not familiar with Aarhus. Long bus stop names can be hard to fit on an iPhone screen, and with all the øåæ in place names, it can be quite daunting for people from, e.g., the UK. But, the was bug-free when I used it, and helped me get from Å to B easily. I would recommend they test the app with more non-Jutland/Denmark natives to see how they find it. Maybe add a map function to check bus stops before booking? A pre-indication of what zone you may need? Can only be entered in settings. Pretty straightforward to find bus stops closest to your location and destination so you can be relatively vague.
