Now a year later it doesn’t show the washing machine anymore and when trying to re-register it says it is registered to another account. Tried deleting account but needed password. Password not automatically saved the last time this happened as miele’s url is IoT-Miele. Did a password reset but can’t login - says temporarily locked out…. It was faster to just use the washing machine controls. There’s no joy in using this app. ### 1/5 — Washer is a piece of junk *2026-08-01, version 4.18.0* Brand new washer refuses to SAVE setup. Asks for setup every time it is powered on. Will not start a cycle. Piece of junk. Ok, I thought, I’ll check the app. The app is aggressively useless. Literally says “your appliance is reporting an error. Check operating manual for more info.” Really?!? It offers no additional details. It can’t even tell me the error code let alone cross referencing it. It doesn’t have link to the manual. Doesn’t have an AI agent to help me troubleshoot the issue. No support for getting a technician booked. I’m sure there is a point to this app, but I don’t know what it is. ### 1/5 — Terrible. *2026-07-13, version 4.18.0* Unable to create account, with no error message. I hate that the new filters no longer have a meter showing when they need replacing. Instead, I have to download an app to get a reminder. Worthless. ### 2/5 — Great when it works, super unreliable, built by people who don’t understand networking *2026-07-12, version 4.18.0* Notable difference between laundry and oven devices Ovens are excreable; wifi modules can’t deal with networks that isolate devices even though they don’t need to talk to other devices on the network; establish a whole fresh network to register them then move on to the isolated network and all is well Laundry setup is much smoother using Bluetooth, but “wake” is unreliable and state sync of device sometimes requires a force quit of app Failed instruction Manual downloads (6 bytes vs 9 mb) are neither detected nor corrected Miele need a competent tech director, and a year or two to fix all the broken edges. Very, very, annoying. For example, changing things like PIN code, keypad volume, buzzer, and welcome time; changing these options within an app would probably be less of a hassle than navigating the programmable functions on the appliance itself. Edit: It’s now been a couple years and the app functionality hasn’t improved at all. I can only assume that the people who work on this product don’t actually use it in their own homes. ### 1/5 — Failed to login *2026-06-30, version 4.18.0* Account authentication failed during multiple attempts, including after uninstall and reinstall. After every login, pop up dialog box with “Authentication failed” appeared and signed me out. Login works in a desktop browser. ### 3/5 — Required But Not Desired *2026-06-24, version 4.18.0* This is the way you’ll interact and monitor with your @home connected Miele appliances, but the app is a bit glitchy and the designers probably don’t use the app themselves due to how it’s organized. First: Living in the US, we use the unpopular Fahrenheit system. Our WXR860 clothes washer is set to F, as is the Miele app, but the app is taking the washer’s reported temp (in F) and re-converting it to F, meaning washer is running an 85F wash, the app says it’s a 185F wash. Not critical but annoying and seems like a very obvious bug that hasn’t been fixed still. Second: Going into the washer app, half the initial screen shows a huge washer line art image, and Washing Assistant “Unsure how to best wash your textiles?” which I can’t imagine many people need the assistant this often to make a priority over washer cycle details (like estimated time of completion, not just time remaining.) Third: Unsure if the washer tracks actual eco usage (water, electricity) but the Miele dishwasher does. If so, why can’t I see water and kW usage as a washer cycle progresses in the app? There are other annoying niggles as a user I’ve learned to live with but the whole experience feels like it was outsourced. Glitches, annoying navigation flow, TwinDos level on separate areas. “Programme” spelling when cycle time changes in pop-up alerts despite being in the US. I cannot see how this app can have an average rating of 4.5. It logged me out about five times before being able to register one appliance. But then I can’t use any of the functions as I am constantly being logged out. The App support gets you to the Miele website. Equally unhelpful. It has to be inflated because I’ve seen more one star ratings than any. This app is atrocious. I tried it on my phone. It didn’t work. I create an account at times me out the second I login I did all my girlfriend‘s phone. It worked up until I went to set up my devices and then it can’t connect to the server and then I call customer support and they have regular operating hours. This app is a joke. It doesn’t work. It doesn’t work on two devices and I can’t connect to my router one star don’t even how remotely comes close to having four y’all need to work on this for having such high appliances. ### 1/5 — Poor design and technology *2026-08-10, version 4.18.0* I have over 150 apps on my iPhone and the Miele app is the worst one. I use it with my $6,000+ super automatic coffee machine. This one app is supposed to control vacuums, washers, dryers, ovens, induction cooktops, ventilation hoods, and coffee machines. The only way to use the remote feature on the coffee maker is to turn on the feature at the machine and then it only works for one drink and then the remote feature immediately turns off. I’ve only just purchased my appliance and created a Miele account, yet I’m completely unable to log into the app. Every attempt results in the message: “Authentication failed. Your login session has expired. Please login again.” I’ve tried on both my iPhone and iPad, re-entered my credentials multiple times and the issue persists. This appears to be a problem with Miele’s authentication system rather than anything I’m doing. For a premium brand, I’d expect the connected services to work out of the box. At the moment, I’m unable to use any of the smart features that were part of the reason for purchasing the appliance. Before I had the app I wouldn't put a wash on in the evenings because I'd have to get out of bed to turn the alarm off when it finished - my bedroom is two storeys up from my laundry room and I could still hear it. In an ideal the world one would be able to disable the alarm altogether but until then, I have this app! ### 5/5 — Remote control, help function, contact details & shop! Perfection *2026-05-25, version 4.17.3* Brilliant app. Simple, polished and genuinely useful. Being able to control and monitor all of our Miele appliances remotely in one place is fantastic. The built-in shop works really well, support/help is easy to find, and having contact details within the app saves hunting around when you need something quickly.
