### 4/5 — Not connecting

*2025-10-11, version 2.4.2*

App says it cannot connect to heating gateway and suggests resetting WiFi. Unplugging gateway and the router, restarting router and the gateway. Didn’t work , but changing batteries in the thermostat fixed it . Why not advise doing that first?
BTW . Option in App Store for app support leads to page with error 404.

### 3/5 — Amicable but no amazing

*2025-01-27, version 2.4.2*

I’ve been using the MiGo product for over 8 years. Initially the software was very quirky but contained a lot of features.

Usability and stability have significantly improved.

We are using LPG cylinders so boiler modulation is really important (saving 2-4 gas cylinders a year), this is a fantastic benefit.

Weather compensation on the climapro did appear marginally better (this replaced our old one) and significantly cheaper to buy.

Development appears to have slowed, with MiGo Link receiving improvements and this staying still.

Enhancements such as reporting boiler error codes, flow/return/outdoor temperature, gas consumption, a widget and HomeKit integration would significantly improve it.

At one point there was suggestion of an upgrade path to move onto the link app but that is no longer the case with support saying “it’s not compatible”.

### 2/5 — AI Junk

*2023-12-28, version 2.4.0*

I start to have enough of this app now. It does not allow me to heat my apartment to a desired temperature in the middle of the winter in Scotland. I cannot change it manually on the boiler while changing the temperature in the app does not result in an expected temperature in the apartment. I called my gas engineer who installed this whole junk and he seems to be clueless about this. While devs have fun playing with AI so it can decide on temperature and gas consumption for users, the latter cannot control products and energy they pay for.

### 5/5 — Fab

*2023-01-24, version 2.3.0*

Great app p! Wouldn’t be without it, easy and so convenient.

### 5/5 — Convenient toolbox

*2023-01-21*

Great app with easy to use interface to stay in control of your heater and hot water.

### 5/5 — Works well

*2023-01-19, version 2.3.0*

Works well. We are able to control the heating from our iPhones. Even outside the house. The information screen has given me a lot of control over heating costs. As I know exactly how much the boiler is firing up. I can control the heating via Alexa now too.

### 5/5 — Works great - saves a fortune

*2023-01-16*

Use it on a holiday home in the UK. Stops place freezing but is as economical as possible doing it - system learns and modulates - integrated with gloworm boiler.. Can immediately turn on system in event of staying at the house so it’s warm when I arrive. Sends a message in event of system failure. Perfect for me.

### 5/5 — New update is better

*2023-01-15, version 2.3.0*

New update is far more reliable and easy to use

### 4/5 — Good!, but schedules tricky

*2023-01-15, version 2.3.0*

Schedules are a bit tricky to set up and change.
Seeing graphs of historical performance is great

### 4/5 — Great when working, crashes every few months and requires setup again

*2023-01-09, version 2.3.0*

Great when working, crashes every few months and requires setup again

### 2/5 — Really not working!!

*2022-03-20, version 2.0.1*

This new app from my iPhone is really not doing it for me. From the outset, it seems quite intuitive ie. What time do you get up, what time do you go to work etc and it automatically sets your heating & hot water to come on when you’re home. Unfortunately, despite several attempts at editing the system or adding a new hot water period for instance, it just doesn’t add a new set of custom schedules or temperatures. The online help is for the old system, so that’s not very helpful either. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong but WHERE can I find the answers??

### 2/5 — New Update

*2022-03-19, version 2.0.1*

I hate it. Where has the summer setting gone? Some clear instructions or an indication of where to find them would be helpful.

### 3/5 — Manual override??

*2022-03-09, version 2.0.1*

There doesn’t seem to be an override option to manually set temp when I want…..
Is this correct??

### 3/5 — Decent but could be better

*2022-03-08, version 2.0.1*

Simple to use, redesign is a big improvement visually and the update seems more stable than before (previous versions were very buggy).

FAQ says that Google Assistant is supported but then provides no info on setup - please get this added! Being able to properly integrate MiGo with other smart devices & services would make the app vastly more useful.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Forced gateway firmware update doesn’t work

*2024-07-13, version 2.4.1*

The app is forcing me to update the firmware but gets stuck on downloading it to the gateway. Literally made it useless. Can not add a thermostat

### 1/5 — Very poor.

*2024-02-28, version 2.4.0*

We had a new one sitting on the shelf for some time after finding huge problems with the house just purchased. On installing this recently we found it was extremely heavy on batteries - it then stopped working completely showing 48degrees on the display even with the batteries removed. It no longer communicates with the base unit. Calls to the helpline proved unhelpful. We are now looking for a different unit as we refuse to make a further outlay on this apparently poor unit.

### 1/5 — Too complicated

*2023-04-29, version 2.4.0*

Not sure about it

### 1/5 — The absolute worst - do not buy this system!

*2022-12-05, version 2.2.1*

We’ve had so many issues with our boiler not working because of this app which is the only way to control the boiler, other than the thermostat on the wall which also doesn’t work/ connect in line with when the app isn’t working. The lastest issue - for the last 24 hours the app hasn’t worked, either keeps rebooting, says the severs are down or the app loads but then nothing you do actually connects to the boiler. It’s currently December, I have a poorly toddler and her room is 13c and due to drop colder overnight. It’s completely unacceptable this app not working means my sick daughter has to sleep in a very cold room. Whoever made this app should be sacked, it’s not fit for purpose!

### 1/5 — Servers down!!

*2022-12-05, version 2.2.1*

The past few weeks its been disconnecting, i have to reset and sign back in even though I haven’t changed my wifi password!!
Today it’s saying servers down, possibly the worst app in history, for such a big company like vailent half of the engineers don’t know how to get this so called smart thermostat working! Absolute waste of time effort and money. Should of just got a nest, hive, or tado

### 1/5 — Too Complicated

*2022-07-30, version 2.1.0*

I’d like to set much the same as you would an alarm clock. Why does it need to know if I’m at home or not. Also there’s no over-ride. I’ve deleted it and will have another go when I’ve calmed down. And I can’t even manually turn the boiler in now because it’s connected to this damn thing. Hate it because it’s too complicated without an an over-ride.

### 1/5 — Time wasting pos

*2021-12-23, version 1.1.2*

Could not get set up by 3 separate engineers, including one from Vaillant themselves. After trying dozens of times repeatedly going through the same sequence and getting the same (non) result, it was suggested that I contacted my Wi-Fi supplier as I may be “on the wrong gigahertz setting “!
I bought the glow worm boiler on the recommendation of the installers partly due to the functionality promised by this app.
All it has provided me with is a huge amount of wasted time and money.
I cannot rate this app low enough.

### 1/5 — Stopped connecting

*2021-07-19, version 1.1.2*

Would be great if it worked, now all it says is that it can’t connect and asks me if I have changed my WiFi password (I haven’t) so we are unable to change the timing on our boiler. Fantastic.

### 1/5 — Terrible User interface

*2021-01-09, version 1.1.0*

Baffling in how to set a thermostat program per day. No proper support online. Awful

### 1/5 — Very poor

*2021-01-08, version 1.1.0*

The app is clunky and often doesn’t seem to save changes. I’ve had to reload it a couple of times to achieve changes to the settings.

As for the hardware, the battery-powered thermostat that links wirelessly to the heating hub is a piece of plastic cr*p! Just picking it up will send the heating selection up or down as putting your fingers even remotely close to the + or - buttons adjusts them.

Don’t bother getting it.
