## What is Mikaze for Home Assistant?

Mikaze is a native-feeling iOS app for controlling Home Assistant without making everyone in your home learn a custom dashboard first.

It is built for the way people already use iPhone and iPad: clear navigation, familiar controls, fast rooms, searchable devices, favorites, widgets, and routines that make common home actions easy to run.

Use Mikaze to:
- Browse rooms, devices, and entities in a more approachable iOS layout
- Save favorites for the lights, sensors, locks, covers, media players, and switches you use most
- Watch your energy live: solar production, house load, grid flow, and per-panel health
- See issues like low batteries, unavailable devices, stale sensors, and problem states
- Build simple routines from Home Assistant entities, then run a whole set of changes with one tap
- Add Home Screen widgets for quick status, controls, saved device groups, and energy
- Connect more than one Home Assistant home and switch between them
- Protect sensitive actions with Face ID or passcode checks
- Choose your look with the Mikaze or Mono theme

ENERGY, IN PREVIEW
If your home publishes power and energy sensors, Mikaze finds them automatically and draws a live dashboard: what the roof is making, what the house is drawing, and which way power is moving through the grid. Daily and monthly history comes straight from your own recorder, and a panel grid makes a shaded or failing micro-inverter obvious at a glance. Energy is in preview while sensor detection and the layout are refined, and it keeps growing.

ROUTINES FOR REAL HOUSEHOLDS
Routines are built for everyone at home, not just Home Assistant power users. Pick the entities you want, capture the states that matter, and create small automations for everyday moments like bedtime, movie time, leaving home, or resetting a room.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Mikaze talks directly to your own server. There is no Mikaze account, no middleman cloud, and no tracking. Your access token is stored only on your device, in the keychain.

MIKAZE PLUS
Mikaze Plus is a one-time unlock for larger setups. The free app includes connection, browsing, control, both themes, and up to 3 favorites. Mikaze Plus unlocks multiple Home Assistant homes, Routines, Issues, the Energy dashboard and widgets, unlimited favorites, Home Screen widgets, and advanced protected controls.

Mikaze requires your own Home Assistant server and access token. Mikaze is an independent app and is not affiliated with Home Assistant or Nabu Casa.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-08-28

What’s New

• Rooms and devices now use richer Home Assistant registry information, including floors, areas, manufacturers, models, firmware versions, parent devices, and connected hubs where available.
• Added read-only Home Health details for Home Assistant Repairs, integration setup failures, backup status, and available updates.
• Improved camera compatibility with automatic playback fallbacks between HLS, MJPEG, and authenticated snapshots.
• Energy dashboards now use sources configured in Home Assistant or meters explicitly confirmed by you. Mikaze will no longer silently guess which sensors represent whole-home energy usage.
