### 4/5 — Great resource

*2023-07-30, version 1.3.3*

Great resource that is available 100% free. Love the simplicity. Would love a barcode scanner and would be willing to pay a few bucks for it too

### 4/5 — LOVE the app, Mike, but….

*2023-04-11, version 1.3.3*

PLEASE add the ability to re-order our list of saved meals!

### 4/5 — So far so good

*2023-03-03, version 1.3.3*

The app is pretty simple to use and so far so good. Would like it if you were able to use your camera to scan the bar code of the food, but other than that it works well.

### 4/5 — Could be great because it is very simple…

*2023-01-30, version 1.3.3*

But… the very first food I put in 150 grams of strawberries had the wrong macros. It initially showed a 100 gram serving , however when recording the serving it says per/10 gram serving. So I can easily see the mistake, there was a placement error, but to a new individual the would mislead them to thinking that 150g of strawberries is actually 211 carbs. (It’s not).

### 3/5 — Latest update ruined the screen

*2022-10-11, version 1.3.2*

What happened? I’m using iPhone dark mode and after the latest update I can barely see the macros. It was fine before the update. Can I get the previous version uploaded please?

### 3/5 — Database stopped working

*2022-09-07, version 1.3.1*

I had the app for two days and the database completely suddenly stopped working on Day 2, no food would come up not even the most basic ingredient. I re-installed the app but same problem. Can’t use this!!

### 3/5 — So Close, but not yet ...

*2022-05-14, version 1.3.1*

I thought I might have found the perfect nutrition app (at least for me), however it is missing a few features, it has some bugs, and there's no technical support or contact email for the app.

This app is a light, simple app with a core functionality of tracking macros, calories and the meals that go with them, and at its core this app great potential!

However, the food logI is extremely confusing to use. It seemed straightforward at first until you try to figure out the meal structures and how to save them, that's when the functionality disappears and the bugs emerge.

There doesn't seem to be a way to search and add foods to a "meal". You can search and add foods to your "day" only, not to an actual meal. I believe the functionality is there, but it's not working or the code needs updated. When I managed to bring up the correct menu the macros for all the foods and meals are empty, clearly there is some sort of bug here.

Also, A needed feature would be to share saved meals, that would help out couples who are trying to lose weight together keep from having to double entry everything. Another nice feature would be the ability to track fiber. For those following the keto diet and wishing to subtract for net carbs, this would be a nice add-on.

I tried to find a way of contacting the developer to inform him of the bugs in more detail, but there doesn't seem to be a way of doing that. I don't use social media accounts. A simple contact email or a form on the website would suffice.

All in all, as I mentioned, this app has great potential once these bugs and issues are fixed. The database seems very comprehensive, although a bar scanner would be great, but I'm happy with a search field.

### 4/5 — Can’t create meals from database

*2021-05-11, version 1.3.1*

This app is really beautiful. I’ve used it to successfully manage my weight for years. The database is nice and clean and the app is easy to use. I do wish you could build full meals using the database instead of having to type in macros. Seems like you can in Android maybe? Anyway, highly recommended.

### 4/5 — Pleasantly surprised

*2021-04-06, version 1.3.1*

My fitness pal wasn’t correctly tracking macros so I looked for something else. This app is a lot simpler than my fitness pal. It has been able to find all my foods to track macros and calories. And free so can’t complain.

### 3/5 — Great app - needs some new features!

*2021-02-04, version 1.3.1*

The macro setting portion is great and the rest/training day macros, “tap” to see your remaining macros, and the food data base is awesome.

I wish I could add foods from the database to specific meals. If you add a new meal you can’t add foods from the database to that meal, you have to do it manually.

Some added user-friendliness and this would be an amazing app!👍

### 4/5 — Would be the best but...

*2021-01-13, version 1.3.1*

This app would be hands down bar none the best macro counting app available *if* it had a recipes feature. The database is accurate and fairly comprehensive, the macros are customizable, the UI is no nonsense and clean. I just simply cook too much to use an app without a recipe building/saving feature. Please add it and save me from Mfp!!!

### 3/5 — I really wanted to like it

*2021-01-09, version 1.3.1*

I really wanted to like this app.

I’m a coach/fitness professional and a lifter. I loved that this app was made by a fitness professional, and I was excited that Jordan Syatt recommended it.

I also really hate my fitness pal and was psyched for an alternative !

This app sadly falls short in so many ways. Maybe I’m missing something ? Would appreciate a response if so!

First, there is no way to save foods. In MFP, you can save “Orginal silk soy milk 1 cup” as one of your saved foods. That way, when building meals, you can simply select foods (and the exact serving you usually have of that food) and compile them into a meal.

In this App, one must search for the food and select the serving every time.

Next, making saved meals is really not useful in this app, because you can’t search the food database to make meals.

Instead, when creating a meal, one must know exactly how many calories carbs fat protein the entire meal or food item has.

If I’ve logged all the foods and servings from the database for that day, why can I not simply select all those foods and save it as a meal?

Am i really meant to manually add up the macros and enter that as a meal?
When making a saved meal, you cant search the database, and must instead enter in the exact macros of food #1 /2 etc?

That seems ridiculous and makes the app really in user friendly and time consuming.

I think all the info Mike provides, as well as the much more accurate equations, are freaking awesome.

Sadly this app just doesn’t follow through on the actual usability.

Unless I’m missing something🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ll have to go back MFP for now sadly - but if they were to ever improve the usability of this app through saved foods and the ability to create meals through logged foods and the database, I’d be excited to come back.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t really work

*2020-05-13, version 1.3.1*

Maybe it’s my device but when I tried to add a food from the database into a meal, there’s no macro information. If I just want to add the food from database as a loose one outside of a meal, that works and has macro info. That’s a bit useless for what I’m hoping to use this app for :(
If I’m missing something and someone reads these pls let me know!

### 3/5 — Font Issue

*2020-02-20, version 1.3*

I really like this app however the last week the font changed to a white text on a white background and I can no longer read my numbers??

### 3/5 — Can’t see anything

*2020-02-19, version 1.3*

I’ve loved this app for years but now with the update I am unable to see anything in the app. I have tried everything including deleting app and re-downloading it (meaning I have to now input all information again 🙄) but can’t even do that because I can’t see anything

### 3/5 — Worked great for a few days

*2020-02-19, version 1.3*

This app was simple and providing everything I needed to track macros. Then a few days after I started using it an update rendered all the text white and the app unusable. Hope a fix is coming soon

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Too time consuming and not good for achieving fitness goals

*2025-10-12, version 1.3.3*

You need to be a health junkie and and personal trainer with a degree to understand all of the technical rubbish in this app. I can see why it’s free. It’s not too helpful and you would spend way too much time trying to understand it rather than focussing on your weight loss or fitness goals

### 1/5 — Error and won’t load

*2023-05-19, version 1.3.3*

Tried to use the app and it gives me an error and won’t load. Checked the other reviews and it’s been going on for awhile. Moving on

### 1/5 — This app doesn’t work

*2023-05-15, version 1.3.3*

Downloaded this app from a recommendation from a book Eat it. But when I put in my info it fails saying there is an error and get a spinny wheel which does nothing until I close the app. Oh well.

### 1/5 — I can’t even use the app

*2023-03-11, version 1.3.3*

Anytime I try to create a profile it just says there’s an error…fix your app.

### 1/5 — Can’t even set up

*2023-02-28, version 1.3.3*

Entered name and email then app just hung after pop-up. Could never even see information.

### 1/5 — Can’t input anything

*2020-02-18, version 1.3*

Tried updating app and what not, but my numbers never come up. Just remains blank... can’t seem to fix it

### 1/5 — Bad UX

*2020-02-18, version 1.3*

The screen background & the font are the same colour. Can’t see what I’m typing or reading. Birth date scroller doesn’t appear

### 1/5 — Data Entry / Input is Nearly Impossible

*2020-02-18, version 1.3*

I was not able to enter any data because I couldn’t see the input fields. The white on white background and font doesn’t let you see anything on the screen when you try to enter the parameters. How did this even make it to the App Store? Please fix and I will update my review. This is on an iPhone 11 with iOS 13.3

### 1/5 — Huge problem

*2020-02-17, version 1.3*

I can’t see any of the words all the text are white on white why is this?

### 1/5 — Updated messed it up

*2020-02-16, version 1.3*

Not working anymore since recent update

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2023-12-05, version 1.3.3*

And it helped heaps to reach my goal and
Plan my meals. However suggestion to Mike: if possible, please add a way to track water, I really could use an integrated feature to do that. Thanks and congrats on the app, really clean and simple.

### 5/5 — Best macros app out there!

*2023-07-02*

Superbly thought out app with much greater accuracy and ease of use than others out there, and it’s entirely free! No ads! What’s more, Mike is a standup guy and will personally reply if contacted with an issue regarding the app or figuring out your macros! Just check out his blog posts - it’s clear he knows what he’s talking about and that he walks the walk.

### 5/5 — Great macro app! The best one I have used.

*2022-12-28, version 1.3.2*

It is easy to use! It works! I love the “plain-ness” of it!! No ads. I heard about it from Jordan Syatt.

### 5/5 — Perfectly simple

*2022-01-22, version 1.3.1*

I was looking for a macro tracking app without all the extra “stuff”. This is perfect- it will either calculate yours, or you can input your own. It’s simple and effective. Thank you for making this app!

### 5/5 — It works! Great App

*2021-07-28, version 1.3.1*

Yes nothing is perfect. Everyone wants all the bells and whistles but this app does what you need it too. I started at 330 lbs in 4 months using this app I’m now down to 267 lbs. It works. Just save your meals and follow it. Tried many others including paid ones. In my opinion it fits my needs and gave me the results I wanted. Pretty easy format. Just enter your goals. Plan your meals and follow it. Of course exercise along with a diet with speed things up. It’s a game changer!

### 5/5 — Incredibly useful

*2020-07-08, version 1.3.1*

Love it! A clean interface and does exactly what you need it to. Thanks for creating this!! :)

### 5/5 — Love it

### 5/5 — Until the update!

*2020-02-19, version 1.3*

Loved this app until the recent update! Now I can’t see any numbers or anything that I type in. What happened???

### 5/5 — Love this app but the recent update broke it!

*2020-02-19, version 1.3*

I’ve been using this app for about 2 years and I absolutely love it. It’s simple and easy to use, however the latest update has rendered all the text white so I can’t see my numbers! Hope it gets fixed soon. 5 stars for the 2 years of functionality and the hope that it will all get worked out.

### 5/5 — Not working

*2020-02-16, version 1.3*

Downloaded app work perfect for five days.
Now I go into app cant see nothing .. everything like my macros you can’t see..

Would like to keep using this app...can’t fine one that works as good as this one...
