BUT: - this app crashes as soon as I end the recordings (with or without a thumbnail image); - as soon as I unboxed my new Mikme, I updated it... and it became not visible by neither my Mac, nor my win pc; - the Mikme support gets some few days rest between my emails. Not a good start... And I bought it because I’m a tech reviewer! ### 2/5 — Not Ready for Prime Time *2017-10-24* This is a review of the App and not the Mikme microphone which appears to work well for me. IMO the app has a poor user interface for the following reasons. When you make a recording with the Mikme microphone you have to take a picture to save the recording. That function is not useful for me and one can not turn that requirement off. The app assigns a nonsense name to the recording which you have to change. The app does not just prompt you to name the recording if you wish to save it. To delete a recording after it is made and saved may have select the “image” you made to save the recording multiple times to get to a screen where you can delete the recording. For reasons I can’t figure out, the app does not allow you to either swipe to delete a recording or multi-select from a list of recordings to delete more than one recording at a time. In summary the Mikeme app has the most tedious user interface I have experienced on any app I use. I wish Mikme would look at apps like “Clear”, “Wonderlist” or even “Outlook” for user interface inspiration. I wish Mike would not force me to take pictures to save a recording. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Expensive paperweight, now *2023-07-11* This thing was cool when it worked, but the app seems to need ever more permissions for less actual functionality, and the mic itself seems stuck in a firmware update loop. I hope they get this sorted out, the actual microphone sounded great when I got it. But I don’t need another app to record through my iPhone’s camera and mic. ### 1/5 — Nul ! *2023-06-27, version 4.2.0* J’ai acheter un micro cravate une fortune chez vous pour qu’au final je ne puisse même pas enregistrer ma voix sur l’application sans qu’il y ai un bug ! (Erreur enregistrement, l’application qui se ferme toute seule à chaque fois qu’on veux synchroniser un enregistrement). Vous êtes une honte au pris auquel vous vendez vos produit vous êtes même pas capable d’avoir une application qui fonctionne correctement ! ### 1/5 — Seit Update funktioniert Synchronisation nicht mehr *2023-01-16, version 4.2.0* Dadurch ist für mich das nicht gerade billige Mikme-Mikro nicht mehr wie gewünscht zu gebrauchen. Echt enttäuschend. Außerdem zwingt die App einen, den Zugriff auf die Kamera und die Ortung zu erlauben, obwohl für meine Bedürfnisse (Audio) irrelevant. ### 1/5 — Pas fiable *2019-11-07, version 3.1.7* Le micro est excellent mais l’app n’est pas fiable : j’ai perdu 45 minutes d’interview vidéo à cause d’un bug. Frustrant, surtout pour un micro à 200€. Deleting recordings is pretty much undiscoverable while when saving it forces you take a picture. Built by hardware and sound people with no clue on how to make a usable app. Hire a UI design contractor and have this fixed please. ### 1/5 — Pretty bad *2019-04-02* The app is trash - constant bugs and crashes, can't record video. The microphone is a disaster - the unit's battery was faulty, I sent the request for warranty repair, but never got an answer. At this point I literally have a $300 nonfunctional brick sitting on my table that I can't do anything with. What a disappointing experience. Years to get the hardware then an app that is pretty useless. ### 1/5 — does not do anything promised by the indiegogo campaign *2017-11-11* interface is poorly done. buttons do not work. can't record. does not work on ipad. very buggy on iphone. i feel ripped off double because i got this based on the promise of wireless recording using android, no android app still after 2 years of waiting. so i got an ipad and an iphone, now a double waste of money because APP NOT WORK. very disappointing. beyond feeling ripped off, i feel tricked and conned. the whole reason i got this was so i could record practice jam sessions with instruments and not have to fiddle with microphones. that dream is far from reality using this hardware and software. i'll change this review if the company ever makes good on its promises, till then, i remain a jaded consumer who was tricked and lied to. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Endlich wieder da! 🥰 *2024-07-19, version 4.2.0* Ich dachte schon diese App und damit viel der Nutzbarkeit meiner wundervollen MIKME Mikrofone wären für immer verschwunden. Finally changed the cord to connect to my Computer (wasn't sure where the cable I got with this was), and the cable quality DOES matter or the Computer won't pick up the Mikme as existing. ### 5/5 — Simple Intuitive App *2014-12-13* This app has the basic features that I need in an easy to use, beautiful package. I am glad to see the company is continuing to refine the app and push out updates. Play around with the app and make several test videos of various lengths before recording anything critical. ### 4/5 — Very disappointed in developer *2018-06-12* Updated to four stars because they did finally get back to me and the product is much improved now. You can see the original review below: This app is all about good ideas with very poor follow through. While I can name many issues with the app, my biggest disappointment is with the developers and their very poor communication and updates. Their customer service is a NIGHTMARE (after contacting them multiple times via multiple multiple channels, they have not gotten back to me after weeks) and they are FULL of “potential” updates and timelines that are NEVER met anywhere close to their estimates. Their software and their whole company has been a mess ever since they launched. Hmm. Shorter videos are fine. Would be great if you integrate mikme mikes with Filmic pro and BeastCam. ### 3/5 — Okay, but not great yet *2020-11-29, version 3.3.2* The overall usability is a bit dodgy. Especially video functions are very limited and you can’t take advantage of the phone’s capabilities (lenses, etc.). Would be great if the audio syncing would add as a feature to the internal cam or more established pro apps for videographers and for example gimbal video apps. The branding integration is a nice little feature for a quick interview or vlog.
