### 2/5 — Constantly disconnects

*2026-04-23, version 1.4.5*

Constantly disconnects. There hasn’t been an app update in a year to fix these issues. It doesn’t record movement accurately and will say he’s sleeping in the crib and show breathing activity when no one is in the room. Honestly I should have went with the Nanit but didn’t want to spend so much money. Now I wish I did

### 1/5 — This should have been a lawsuit

*2026-01-22, version 1.4.5*

As an original Miku owner, many of us considered a class action lawsuit after the company introduced a subscription fee for core features like video recording and sleep monitoring. That’s exactly why we paid a premium price when we bought the device in the first place. They pulled the rug out from under thousands of buyers post-purchase. We now don’t get the features we originally paid for. The app is buggy and unreliable and while the contactless monitoring concept is great, the tech simply isn’t robust enough to justify the bait and switch. What a frustrating experience, and probably illegal.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-01-18, version 1.4.5*

Love the concept, the monitor is great when it is working ... but after a while it keeps giving us false alarm ..it kept saying baby breathing stopped when baby is not even in the cot -_- ....

Reached out to customer support but they didn’t really help me and just brushed me off

Sad 😔

### 1/5 — I threw it away - useless

*2026-01-06, version 1.4.5*

Do not buy anything from this company. The app doesn’t work - it never connects, sends false alarms through the night. Then the monitor itself completely quit working - just no lights, nothing. Company said they couldn’t help because they went bankrupt. Honestly I didn’t even know they were still selling these when they know they don’t work. I threw the whole thing away and I’m getting a different brand for the baby I’m about to have.

### 1/5 — Unreliable, Not worth the cost at all

*2025-12-17, version 1.4.5*

The app doesn’t connect to my camera about 80% of the time. Completely unreliable and unstable connection even when the camera does work. Buy a Nanit or any other camera instead.

### 1/5 — Horrible connection

*2025-12-16, version 1.4.5*

This app NEVER loads turns on and I see my kid for 2 seconds before it turns black and says connection error. All connections are great everything is solid it’s the app. So weird makes me question who actually is getting to view it if the parents never are

### 1/5 — This app sucks

*2025-12-13, version 1.4.5*

Where's hatsune miku

### 1/5 — Sad waste of money

*2025-12-04, version 1.4.5*

I’m one of the few that don’t leave reviews. So disappointed in this camera system time and time again. We have had it for over 2 years and it constantly always disconnects, requires repairing, and always leaves us having to set up a cheap camera that works so much better in the room. For how much you spend in monthly payments for the “SUBSCRIPTIONS” for the extras is just crazy for how bad this performs. Do not recommend for any young parents. Would love to hear any response from the company because we have never had any response.

### 1/5 — Do not buy

*2025-11-16, version 1.4.5*

Routine connectivity issues, and requires a monthly fee on top of a high purchase cost. You can spend 1/10 the amount on a cheaper system and have better reliability. Avoid

### 1/5 — Meh

*2025-11-16, version 1.4.5*

We bought this because the breathing monitor was included. They sold the company and then forced a subscription onto original users for several features including breathing monitor. We were still able to use it as a video camera and lullabies. Now the music isn’t even working. Disappointed again and again. Go with a company that doesn’t force subscriptions on you unless it’s your choice.

### 1/5 — Miku no bueno

*2025-11-06, version 1.4.5*

Doesn’t work, it tracks everything around my son or morning at all, I have to constantly reconnect it to my Internet, and I’ve been trying to cancel the subscription and it will not let

### 1/5 — Predatory pricing

*2025-10-29, version 1.4.5*

Miku implemented subscription costs after they said they wouldn’t

### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY THIS MONITOR

*2025-10-29, version 1.4.5*

This monitor is useless. Doesn’t connect 80% of the time. Don’t bother getting the subscription, the monitor won’t connect to monitor your baby.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2025-10-14, version 1.4.5*

Long delays when you open the app. Takes 15+ seconds for the camera to load, the “activity” doesn’t capture 95% of movement, waking, crying, etc. If the baby gets removed from the bassinet, half the time it doesn’t even realize it. Lastly, the UI (user interface) is terrible. Really needs an upgrade. Not intuitive at all.

### 1/5 — Disappointing after paying $$$$

*2025-10-08, version 1.4.5*

She. I first bought the monitor it was all free no membership pricing. The monitor itself was around $400 and that was bc of the live breathing and tracking that came with it .
Year into having company went bankrupt and now change a membership for what was once free!!
I can barely even connect to the monitor now bc always says poor connection when I have full bars on WiFi

### 1/5 — Not Worth It

*2025-09-21, version 1.4.5*

This app was wonderful when I had my first back in 2021. We saved it and used it for our second who was born in 2024. The new subscription service is not worth it at all. At the time of this review, the app store says the app hasn't been updated in 6 months. Most recently, I haven't been getting any notifications (baby awake, baby asleep, no movement, etc.) I've reset everything to no avail. Cancelling my membership and going with something else.

### 1/5 — DO NOT PURCHASE

*2025-09-13, version 1.4.5*

This might be the worst functioning app I’ve ever encountered. We’ve used it for 2 years out of sheer stubbornness because of how much we paid for the monitor only to have the company switch to a paid subscription service which is absolutely terrible. I advise anyone in need of an app to steer clear.

### 1/5 — Not Worth Time or Money

*2025-09-08, version 1.4.5*

The mom I nanny for has this and it’s absolutely useless. The camera never connects, the screen always goes dark and when it happens to work it’ll say “no movement detected” and set off alarms…and the baby isn’t even in her crib. I’ve seen a number of baby monitors and I’ve had ones 1/3 of the price work 10xs better than this one. The breathing tracking would be great, if the system ever actually worked. I would NOT recommend this product.

### 1/5 — DO YOURSELF A FAVOR & STAY AWAY!

*2025-08-25, version 1.4.5*

Miku was never the superior baby monitor to its competitors but its deficiencies were tolerable when they didn’t charge you for a monthly subscription. Ever since the new company bought them out, they haven’t improved on the app at all. If anything, it’s gotten worse.

First of all, it often takes a whole minute for it to load. Every time you need to switch apps and return, you have to wait a whole minute. Half the time when I turn on the music, it says “error loading music” and I’d have to restart it. Overall it’s laggy and not what you’d expect from a professional software company in this day and age.

Second, every so often, the app crashes and I would not be able to monitor my daughter. The music continues playing but the camera doesn’t work. It would require a reset to get it working again.

Third, the camera randomly turns on at times. It’s a bit scary to think that someone could’ve gained access to it. I’ve already changed my WiFi settings and even got a new router. With all the other problems with this app I have to believe that this issue is part of its long list of problems.

I’ve reached out to email support multiple times, and they basically fail to take responsibility. All they ask me to try steps 1,2 and 3. Nothing works and they avoid the possibility of offering me a refund or a new monitor.

Listen to the other hundreds of reviews and stay away. Any other baby monitor brand like Nanit, Eufy or others will undoubtedly be much better than the headaches you will inevitably encounter with Miku. If you bought it already and are just reading this, RETURN IT.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — The worst

*2026-06-02, version 1.4.5*

I highly recommend another option. Customer service is a joke. App freezes all the time and disconnects. Instead of giving me less stress it gave me more!

### 1/5 — Horrible connectivity

*2026-04-19, version 1.4.5*

This app is a joke , I downloaded it and it works on my wife’s phone but when I try to share it to my phone it try’s to force me to add a new device , won’t allow me to connect to the existing . So frustrating . FIX YOUR APP

### 1/5 — Engineers need to fired for such a poor design

*2026-04-10, version 1.4.5*

Spent 2 hours on setup and still not paired. Fix your freaking bugs

### 1/5 — Gives false monitoring data

*2026-04-05, version 1.4.5*

The app says my baby has been asleep for 20 minutes and shows a graph of her supposed breathing rate as an overlay, but she’s not even in the bassinet or anywhere on camera.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-03-26, version 1.4.5*

Don’t waste your money on this product . Or this app .

### 1/5 — Poor performance

*2026-03-21, version 1.4.5*

Works maybe 30% of the time.

### 1/5 — Getting worse by the day

*2026-02-27, version 1.4.5*

Used to love it. Now, I am lucky to connect long enough to glance at my baby before it buffers or goes completely black. No sound, no video. Useless.

### 1/5 — ABSOLUTE GARBAGE

*2026-02-23, version 1.4.5*

The reviews speak for themselves, complete garbage device and app. Get another monitor.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-02-10, version 1.4.5*

The bait and switch they did is unforgivable. Near useless without an insane monthly fee that was forced on us a year after purchase.

### 1/5 — It’s becoming worse

*2026-02-07, version 1.4.5*

We’ve been using miku for 4-5 years for our children. It just become worse and worse ever since they started to charge you monthly fee. Customer service stopped responding when asked for warranty information.

For new parents or parents who are sleep training the babies, do yourself a favor do not purchase this product. Imagine when your baby cries and you tapped into the app and the app keeps on loading and shows you Miku disconnected/offline while you are debating whether you should go check on your baby or give it a minute - at that moment, every second feels too long.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — A monitor I can actually trust!

*2026-05-28, version 1.4.5*

We’ve tried a few baby monitors, but the Miku is the first one that actually gave me peace of mind without making me more anxious.

As a mom, I didn’t realize how often I’d check on my baby while they sleep… especially during naps and overnight. What I love most about the Miku is being able to see their breathing motion right from the app without having to put anything on them. No extra wearables, socks, or clips to worry about.

The picture quality is super clear, the alerts are helpful without being overwhelming, and I honestly use the app constantly throughout the day. It’s also really nice being able to check in when I’m doing things around the house instead of tiptoeing into the nursery every 20 minutes.

One of those baby products that actually became part of our daily routine instead of collecting dust. Definitely one of our most-used baby items.

### 5/5 — Miku

*2024-12-23, version 1.4.4*

Would recommend! I love having Hatsune miku watch my kids.

### 5/5 — Works Really Well, Wish It Had Picture-in-Picture Support

*2024-06-17, version 1.4.4*

Like the title says, the app and baby monitor have worked very well for me over the past year I’ve owned it. Although one feature I’d like is to be able to do Picture-in-Picture video playing on my iPhone and iPad similar to how YouTube and Nanit’s app work. Other than that, the monitor’s video is crisp in the app, the sleep insights with the premium subscription are useful, and the activity alerts/clips from the previous night have been great to have to be able to track our baby’s sleeping habits.

### 5/5 — Can’t go wrong with this camera

*2023-01-30*

We’re really happy to have this camera. It alerted us to when we needed to stimulate our newborn during the night, the first night home after surgery, and we couldn't be more grateful. We do have the bassinet up against our bed and originally had the camera on our nightstand. We felt like the camera did pick up the movement of the space heater and whoever is sleeping on the bed right next to the bassinet. The camera also sent out alerts and picked up breathing when baby wasn't in the bassinet. So we ordered the floor stand and now the breathing reading is way more accurate. We did get one alert when baby wasn't in the bassinet, but so far less alerts than when the camera was on the nightstand. Other than that, this camera has been great and would recommend it to everyone. We like that we can view the bassinet wherever we are in and around the house, even when one of us is out of the house. With another camera we have downstairs you have to be within range to view. Setting it up was fine, and connecting it took a couple of tries but once connected it's been great.

### 5/5 — Loving this monitor so far!

*2022-08-26, version 1.3.8*

One of the things that drew me to this particular monitor is the simplicity and ease of set up. It all comes beautifully packaged was very clear instructions on how to install. Installation takes only a few minutes. You can pick between a wall mount and a floor stand which is very helpful. During set up, the monitor connected to Wi-Fi the first time with ease. I like how sleek this monitor is. My very favorite thing about it is that there are no wearables required. I didn’t have to purchase any extra swaddles or bands to be able to access the insights while baby is sleeping. You are also not required to purchase a package to be able to get insights on your phone. They come included with the package. This monitor can also easily be taken on the road to be able to monitor baby while sleeping. Overall I am very happy with this well thought out product and I highly recommend it to anyone with a baby on the way.

### 5/5 — Best monitor

*2021-12-07*

We did a lot of research on baby monitors before purchasing the Miku, and it exceeded all of our expectations. It was by far the camera / baby monitor with the most features. We love that all the sleep tracking is automatic! It's amazing how far technology has come. The Miku is able to detect when you put your baby down, how long it takes for them to fall asleep, how long they slept for, when a caretaker helps the baby out, and more... All the statistics, details, and insights are extremely helpful in helping us decide if we need to make adjustments to how we put our baby down to sleep. This gives us peace of mind when we aren't actively watching the baby on a camera or in person. It will detect how many breaths per minute and also alert you if the baby stops breathing. After using the Miku we are extremely satisfied with our purchase. It was very easy to set up (both the hardware and software/app) and we were able to use it right away. The app was very intuitive and both my partner and I have it installed and set up to monitor our baby. There are so many bonus features that we love as well. When viewing the app we're also constantly looking at the temperature and humidity that the Miku reports so that we can make adjustments to the room.

### 5/5 — Great baby monitor!

*2021-11-17, version 1.3.2*

I recently purchased the Miku baby monitor and I'm absolutely loving it so far! I was going to go with something very basic for my baby monitor but I'm glad I decided to go with something a little more high tech. First of all-the monitor arrived much earlier than expected and right away I could tell the product and packaging was very high end. The camera doesn't have a bunch of cords and looks very clean-this was also something I was looking forward to. My favorite part about this baby monitor is that it doesn't seem to be as glitchy as other cameras from what I've heard from talking to friends that have used other brands. Although I've only used it for a short time, so far I am beyond impressed and have a peace of mind knowing I can monitor my baby without having to deal with technical issues. The video quality is also very impressive. Overall I am VERY happy with this baby monitor and glad I purchased the Miku

### 5/5 — Best monitor and App!

*2021-09-18, version 1.2.4*

I have been using the Miku monitor for a couple weeks now and absolutely love it. I purchased two monitors and they came at the perfect time as my son is transitioning from his crib to a toddler bed and we also have a newborn. I love how clear the picture quality of the video is and that I can go back and watch video clips throughout the night when there is any movement or sound in the room. This has been so helpful to watch my older son in his big boy bed to make sure he is getting enough sleep and also staying put. The alarm is also a nice feature and I really love how the monitor tracks how long my kids have been asleep or awake. You can setup an alarm for sound or if there is no movement, etc. The app is so user friendly, setup was easy and installing it on the wall was a breeze. It looks nice and sleek - no wires! Its nice you can download the app onto multiple devices and always have access even when you aren’t home. I have used a couple different monitors in the past and this is by far the best.

### 5/5 — Great notifications

*2021-08-04*

It took me a while to figure out this app, but once I did I love it. Once you open the app once, the audio from the monitor will stay playing through your phone speakers even when other apps are open or your phone is locked, and the app will notify you when your baby wakes up and falls asleep - I set the sensitivity a little lower on this part so that id know when my newborn woke up sooner and it’s been great when I want to do some chores around the house and not get sucked into staring at the monitor every time he makes a little noise! There’s also a really loud alarm that will sound when there is zero movement detected, which gives major peace of mind about things like SIDS while you’re sleeping - the alarm has gone off on accident when I picked my baby up without quitting the app and it is definitely loud enough to wake you up or get your attention if you’re busy!

The analytics are fun to keep track of and I love that the app will tell me how long total my baby has been asleep for during a nap so I can keep track when I’m trying to wake him up to keep him on a feeding schedule during the day!

The ONLY suggestion I have would be to keep your phone connected to some kind of louder speaker when you’re sleeping if you want baby noises to wake you up, because other monitors I’ve used have been louder than this one when the phone is locked. Otherwise, this is 100% perfect!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2021-07-20, version 1.2.4*

We have had the miku pro now for about a month so I feel I can accurately review based on our personal experience. We received the baby monitor only 2 days after ordering! Soo fast! The quality of the packaging and camera it’s absolutely stunning, very sleek. The instructions were easy to follow and set Up overall took about 10 minutes. I love that it came with the wire holder.
The app is very easy to use, we have it sharing on two different devices , mine and my husbands. It’s easy to use. Love that you can play sounds and music through it. There are soo many options for sounds / white noise. Love the option to change to better quality picture if you want to.
There was a glitch in our night vision communication but customer service was great and we resolved that issue.
My only thing to note about the camera would be that its accuracy with moving bassinets. We originally set it up with our SNOO without thinking and got alerts non stop since it moves. Once we moved it to Our crib, It was able to monitor baby boys movements instead of the SNOOs!
