I am very familiar with the concepts and what the various inputs mean, however the reticle displayed goes back to another default reticle despite my having selected my specific Nightforce MOAR-F1. In training mode it displays my selected reticle, as soon as I deselect training mode, the reticle changes back to a default version. I also don’t have access to turn off spin drift - and my settings don’t match the online manual. I have literally spent hours going through this app trying to figure out how and where to change various settings and it is very frustrating. This program is either buggy, or the iPhone support is lacking. ### 4/5 — Mil-Dot Ballistics *2022-09-04* I use this app all the time. It’s a good app. My only complaint is it’s lacking major brand scope types like Trijicon. ### 3/5 — Good app . . . But *2020-12-07* The app has great potential, but things change, new scopes, reticles and bullets are added every year. Without updates, especially for good quality scopes and major companies, the app is sadly lacking. ### 4/5 — Long time user *2020-11-21* I’ve had this program since around 2013. This is one of two apps I’ve ever paid for. As apps go $15 is a lot but it’s worth it. Ballistics are not simple but this app does make it easier to visualize. I tend to go month’s without shooting and this app helps me pick up where I left off. I gave it 4 stars because I miss a few things from older versions of the app. It used to have optimum PBZ and I really miss that feature (the screenshots on the website still show it under “solution info”). You can still play around with your zero range and look at PBR to figure it out. I also miss the ability to tap your elevation or windage values to toggle between primary and secondary units. The new method works but it’s a little slower for how I use it. Once I make the decision whether to adjust my scope or hold over I preferred the ability to quickly toggle between clicks and inches. Also if you select the feet/inches for Target UOM it displays 0 for target sizes smaller than 1’. A workaround is to switch Target UOM to inches. Despite these critiques it’s still an awesome app. ### 4/5 — Finally... long over due! *2018-02-27* Thanks for the latest update. I have a Vortex EBR reticle and I like the use of its likeness. I studied it before I went shooting my AR 15 and went out to the Desert set up a steel target at 500 yards used the ballistic calculator and smacked it every time dead on with Full metal jacket 556. PS confirmed the range with my laser rangefinder and was only 13 yards off the mil dot difference. unbelievable. Worth a lot more than what it's selling for but don't tell them that. ### 5/5 — My Favorite App *2016-01-12, version 4.5.9* I love this app, the only thing that I would like to see improved is the library of factory loaded ammo and the bullets library could be updated. ### 5/5 — Best Ballistics Software I have ever used. *2016-01-10, version 4.5.9* I have been using this app for approximately 2years. I have used numerous other programs, including a Dedicated PDA ballistic computer, none of which are as good as this app. There are several features that Mildot Ballistics provides that makes it very user friendly. It not only provides proper hold over for both second and first focal plane scopes, but I can even see a preview of what a shot looks like through the crosshairs of my NightForce ATACR F1 or Vortex Razor HD Gen II. There are dozens upon dozens of other reticles saved for those of you wondering; including a standard generic Mildot reticle. This app has proved itself reliable and accurate despite harsh environmental conditions. If your inputs are accurate, the app will not let you down. I have tested it out to 1900 yards with my .338 lapua and I am believer. I can not say enough about it. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Zero support from developer *2021-09-16* This app has a lot of features however you cannot backup the data like you can with other apps. The app began to crash about 10 firmware updates ago upon opening. I waited it out, reached out to the developer multiple times over 2 years to discuss resolution with no response. I had over 30 profiles of custom drags models setup based on my reloading..lost. Don’t waste your time or money on this app if you want to manage load Development. ### 1/5 — No Support *2021-02-14* This is supposedly version 5.05. The manual is version 4.05 and doesn't come close to explaining many features. I bought the app many years ago and it was good. It recently crashed so I had to purchase again. Now it's garbage with NO SUPPORT. HE'S JUST OUT FOR YOUR MONEY. Don't waste your money ### 1/5 — Where is the iOS 11 support? Update reports some missing URL and freezes iTunes. I had to uninstall the app to be able to backup my iPad and now I can’t reinstall it. Hopefully a patch is in the works! ### 1/5 — No longer works!! *2015-10-22, version 4.5.9* Loved this app but an update just came out today and when I tried to download it, it said unable to download at this time. The app stayed in the "waiting" mode even after hard restart. I deleted app and tried to redownload and got same result. What's up?! ### 1/5 — A Fun Display, But..... *2013-04-08, version 4.3* This app has an interesting graphic display, but lacks a simple method to quickly enter the variables and then display detailed info that I need to set my scope for a long range shot. To be fair though, most ballistic apps do. The main problem with this app is that it displays an image of the bullet impact point and not an actual scope settings. That image has to be translated, by your eye, to a corrected reticle placement on your scope. To me this was nothing more than a Kentucky windage app that took me as long to learn as Mil-Dot calculations did in the military. Other apps are no easier to setup, but once done they give you the number of clicks for your scope and the rest is up to you. I won't name the better apps as that would make this feedback appear to be nothing more than commercial dis. There are several others available that will tell you the click count needed for your rifle/scope/bullet combination. BEpping ### 5/5 — Ballistics Apps of 2018 *2018-01-31* Yes, its related to sniper specialty very accurate and easy to use ballistic apps, I purchased this Ballistic Apps over 2 years ago, and for comparisons, such as; StrelokPro, BulletFlight M, Ballistic AE, and iSnipe. The closes runner up Ballistic Apps that you may try are iSnipe and Ballistic AE, if you want to compare. I am an active and up to date Sniper with established Pistol and Rifle Ranges, now up to 3 miles distances. I am rating this Apps a 5 plus stars. Sergeant, USMC ### 5/5 — Great value for what you get in features *2017-08-17* Great program. It works well at range with mil-dot scope. I was able to change distance with out changing scope settings using the graphic display. ### 5/5 — Incredible App *2017-07-27* I've been using the app for over 2 years now. I was able to use the MOA function in the program to make a 974 yard shot with a Steyr 308. The longest shot to date that I had taken was 517 yards (1-3/4" group). The calculations were spot on and allowed me to hit my target. I have the app installed on my iPad and iPhone. It would be nice to have the data stored in the cloud so that all of my devices can share the custom load information with a single input. ### 5/5 — Mil dot *2017-06-13* I really like this app. It's great for serious shooters. It should be more expensive *2016-11-12, version 4.5.10* once you put in all your information, this truly makes it easy to shoot standard or custom loads. It's also a great teaching tool and teaches you how to range find through your scope to range targets. Gps updates all your weather. Has a built in angle meter to tell u the angle of your shot. I could go on and on. I've tried other apps, this one is the best. ### 5/5 — Easiest calculator I have used *2016-09-12, version 4.5.10* Comparable to Ballistic AE, in the nearest 100ths, in regards to calculations because the both use the same engine. The graph, reticle and HUD in MD ballistics is way better in my opinion. ### 5/5 — Great data for Long Range shooting *2016-04-12* I used this app on my I-phone to start and found it vary useful giving me all the data I needed. But when I put it on my I-pad wow, the screen changed and have a full menu on the left side now which makes it much easier to use. I haven't found a better app yet. There are plenty of app's that are real good but this app shines. Plus I would also recommend.
