I find it really easy to use, customisable for every type of person! One problem though is that for the subscription i do think its a bit overpriced. Dont get me wrong i loveeeeee milanote and really appreciate that theres no time limit on the 'trail' version that lets you have 100 notes, but that number can easily get to 100, and £10 or so a month feels a little steep, i do appreciate that the discount for students is a really good price, but i just feel that for unlimited note space £10 is high ! Otherwise love it!! ### 4/5 — Just one thing *2026-08-26* Make so that the pen tool is smoother to operate. The part where when we select the pen tool and the backdrop fades up feels very unnecessary change to me as someone who prioritises using pen tool for her planning things. It’s just so inconvenient and breaks focus link. ### 4/5 — Mostly great *2026-08-20, version 3.18.122* Overall I really like this app for planning in general; I like how versatile it is, how it doesn’t shove a mediocre ai into your face constantly, and that the non-paying package feels like a step down from premium, rather than a subpar service. The only gripe I have is that in an effort to make the formatting simple and keep the focus on content rather than appearance, the app sometimes limits its own range of functionality. For example, while you’re able to make a table and customise the number of rows + columns, you aren’t able to name any of them which limits the tables’ usefulness. Of course, these kinds of things are small fixes and I look forward to seeing the app improve over time :) ### 4/5 — Solid app, but just one suggestion *2026-08-08, version 3.18.119* I love Milanote and its various features. It helps me a lot with brainstorming my thoughts and ideas for my art projects, although I do wish there was a lifetime purchase option. I’d love to keep using the app without limitations and there’s only so much I can spend regarding the subscription. If there’s a lifetime purchase implemented in the future, I will be the first to sign up. Other than that, this app does its job fairly well. I used to be able to access the app but now it won’t load any of my notes. Every time I open the app it just shows a blank screen. I 100% recommend this app. ### 3/5 — Really good but one flaw *2026-07-15, version 3.18.115* I saw Milanote being advertised in a YouTube video once and decided to try it out but just realized that on the free plan you can only add a hundred things to your boards, over all of them. A friend told me about Milanote. I think it’s well designed easy to use in the free version naturally makes me want to buy the full version. I like how the free version offers just enough of space, again after using this app you will want to upgrade to the full version. I never write reviews, but I thought I would write one for a Milanote because it truly got me a more productive state overall. Keep shining Milanote!!!! ### 5/5 — Brilliant app💜 *2026-06-29, version 3.18.111* Milanote is amazing , it helps so much when I’m sorting out ideas and inspo for my art or clothes and I adore the colour picker ! One thing I think would be nice is if when trying to put a photo on the canvas they have it on the side and the photos being smaller in the unsorted section, just because then I can browse all my photos without having half the canvas obscured , but other than that I love this app! ### 5/5 — Perfection *2026-06-29, version 3.18.111* Hands down the best app for note taking, story planning, character mapping- basically anything creative. You can add text,images,charts, and put boards inside other boards like layered files- it's great. Completely perfect! Except one thing… While I was adding things to my OC’s board, I got a notification saying that I was running out of space. That people not paying for the subscription can only use a maximum of 100 notes and I assumed that was per board. That’s common practice for sites like this, they gotta pay bills somehow, so I didn’t mind. I ran out way before I was finished, but I thought “hey, I’ll start on the next board and use that time to think of ways to avoid hitting the limit” only to find out that the 100 notes limit is per account, not per board. I intended to use this to jot down lore on my 6-12 OC’s, but ran out before I even finished the first… ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — FREE? Yeah NOPE. It’s not simplified enough. *2026-05-13, version 3.18.98* Hello, I downloaded this app because I am a character designer, but this app is very glitchy and weird and it makes all my photos that are high resolution into really bad resolution and and I just think this app could be so much better if the text option that is extremely critical for a character designer. It wasn’t more functional. First of all, it has a thing to make the text all capital. But I don’t need that because all I need to do is press shift and it’s very clunky overall you can’t type anything. It’s like a floating keyboard or you could use your voice, but in public I’d rather just type it and there’s no other setting I hope y’all update this in the future, but please update the text and the resolution because that’s really bringing me fatigue and also can you make it that if you delete the photo on your phone? It’s still on the app like it saves it for you or something I really do want to like this app. It’s just not really well made at all like I’m gonna have to. find a different app to character design and it’s really disappointing because everyone I know all my favorite Youtubers use this app but it’s very glitchy to the point where it’s like not really usable and you can’t type or do the bare minimum I’ll change my review to like a 10 out of 10 if you just fix those couple things thank you ### 1/5 — You only get 100 pictures *2026-05-09, version 3.18.98* This was advertise to me at a free creative workshop app and I thought it be a lot like making a mood board but it only allows 100 images across all your different boards. 100 images in total and if you want the ability to have unlimited images downloads it’s 120 dollars yearly and 12.50 monthly. Dragging a bunch of pre formatted cards and then free-forming the dimensions you need is restrictive. Basic expected functions such as duplicating cards and selecting multiple components are missing. Tables must contain 3 columns and 4 rows as you cannot delete the cells you don’t want.
