Changing a trip from business to personal and press save the entire app closes and have to redo the trip. This is very annoying when you need to catch up on trips and have to restart the app constantly. Bug needs to be fixed ### 4/5 — Drivenote Review *2026-08-21, version 4.28.4* I’ve been using Drivenote for many years now and find it an absolute lifesaver when it comes to keeping track of business versus personal travel. It makes maintaining an accurate logbook simple and takes a lot of the hassle out of recording kilometres. One feature I’d really like to see added is the ability to enter the vehicle’s odometer/kilometre reading when recording a fuel purchase. Having the fuel entry and odometer reading together would make it much easier to keep an accurate record and would be particularly useful for tracking fuel consumption and maintaining a complete vehicle history. Overall, a fantastic product that I’ve found extremely useful over the years. Keep up the great work! ### 3/5 — Great App… when it works. *2026-08-20, version 4.28.4* I drive A LOT for someone who is not a trucker. I have driven about 70,000 miles since downloading this app, then purchasing the motion-sensing device that auto-tracks trips. I learned the hard way that, even though my iPhone is less than 15” away from the “bug,” it does not always automatically track trips. I have lost a minimum of 20% of mileage because it worked so well the first month I had it, I’d forget to check if the auto-track bug had activated the app. THAT has been a bane of my trip tracking existence. To be fair, however, IF YOU CHECK EVERY TRIP EVERY TIME YOU BEGIN TO ROLL, the app is really accurate and works perfectly. I pay a monthly subscription for it, purchased the bug, and expected it to work as advertised. Auto-track is extremely iffy. I’ve had situations where I have forgotten to check the app a few miles away from my previous destination. When typing in that location, the app says something like, “the location you selected is too far away”. BUT I WAS JUST THERE! IT’S on the last stop, and I didn’t teleport a few miles away. My car is my office. I’m busy, take a ton of phone calls between service calls… I don’t believe it’s too much to ask it to work as advertised. But, as I said, if you do not get distracted or you get into the habit of making sure your trip has started, it hasn’t let me down in that regard. If you never want to forget, don’t buy the bug or put it auto track. Just hit the + sign and hit begin tracking a trip. It won’t cost you hundreds and hundreds of dollars in write-offs, or the cost of the bug. August 20, 2026: I was asked to leave another review. What I said above stands. Since April of 2025, I have driven over 70K miles. I use the app every single day. My latest trip took me into Illinois, with a 7-hour drive. The first leg of that day - 3 hours - was not auto tracked. It’s part of it. I sometimes forget to check to make sure it’s on standby - if it isn’t, I just tap on track a trip. The auto tracking feature is great, no more remembering to check kms or turn the tracker on. I’ve tried a bunch, but none come close to Driversnote. Super simple, clean, and honestly the best tracker I’ve ever used. And their service? Unreal. I accidentally deleted my account, and Lauren and Sophie got me back up and running without a hitch. If you need mileage tracking for one business or multiple and want stress-free CRA reporting, this is it. Don’t waste your money elsewhere. It annoys me relentlessly (to no end), to actually assign my vehicle travel for either work or personal use (as required for taxation in my country). The beacon improved the accuracy of the system, automatically learning regular routes and categories them, only requiring a one touch confirmation option. There is scope for improvement and I hope they reinvest profits into R&D, supporting the local geographical community, business & co-ops who have better (and more recent) data. I was charged for July even though I did not use the app at all, and my request for a one-time goodwill refund was refused. Melusi, the Customer Success Specialist, then suggested that I set a calendar reminder next time, which felt patronising and as though I was being spoken to like a child. I had planned to use Driversnote again, but this experience has changed my mind ### 1/5 — Pricing is a joke! *2026-07-20, version 4.28.4* For new users let me explain, used this app for several years and I am a small business, 1 person, at the $13 a month it was the most expensive option at that time. Now they hike it to $17 for existing users and $22 for new users (seems they dropped that after backlash) it is now far too expensive for the simple purpose. I would have kept paying too if they didn’t hike the cost but have now dropped this one in favor of a MUCH better option, “Drivers Note Maxima” which has a lifetime cost HALF the cost of a years subscription for this one and works automatically from CarPlay connection, no stupid beacon and also has feedback via CarPlay. More features and more developed.
