Stopped logging trips

Just like that it stopped without me knowing. I switched from mile iq ti tripbook hoping for cheaper alternative. Well the app stopped working and i was unable to recover 6 weeks of driving. Went back to mile iq.

Response from developer

We’re sorry you experienced this. Yesterday, we released a major update to Tripbook with a new underlying trip-tracking system designed to prevent this issue and make automatic trip logging significantly more reliable. Please update to the latest version and give Tripbook another try. We’re confident you’ll see a big improvement. If you have any questions or experience any issues, please reach out to us directly at info@tripbook.io — we’d be happy to help. The Tripbook Team

Missing trips

This app randomly leaves off entire days worth of trips. When reported to customer service, they say to put in the trips manually. They tell me it’s my fault for turning on the battery save mode on my iPhone. Well, I haven’t used the battery save mode now for over a week. And the app is still leaving off entire days worth of trip trips.

Love the app!

I have noticed that often the app logs trips without entries when I stop, perhaps this is because I am dropping off and making quick stops and take my phone out of the car with me. I do have to make notes about what the stops were and who they were for. It can be confusing if you see addy to and from are the same but it logs a lot of miles.

Response from developer

Thank you! We’re glad to hear you love Tripbook. Tripbook should normally recognize your individual stops, including shorter ones. If you’re regularly seeing multiple stops combined into a single trip, we’d love to take a closer look and see what’s happening. Please reach out to us at[info@tripbook.io with some examples of these trips, and we’ll be happy to investigate. The Tripbook Team

Good but could wish to have more functions

Hope could have custom categories and label functions.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback! Tripbook already includes a **Notes** feature that you can use to add your own information or labels to trips. Your previously used notes are also saved in your history, so you can quickly select and reuse them for future trips without having to type them again each time. We hope this helps! We’re continuing to improve Tripbook and appreciate your suggestion. The Tripbook Team

Good app with potential

The app is generally very good and definitely helps me on a day-to-day basis, but I’m still missing a few features that would make it much smarter and reduce manual work.

The biggest improvement would be tracking presets. For example, when I drive from home to work, the app often recognizes a slightly different address each time. Ideally, users could define and label a set of common locations (e.g. “Home”, “Work”, “Gym”). When the app detects a trip that matches or is close to one of these predefined routes, it could send a notification such as:

“Was that your drive to work?” → Yes / No

This could be powered by configurable rules, similar to smart email filters, and would significantly reduce the amount of manual categorization required.

Another improvement would be assigning the cost per kilometer to the selected vehicle rather than using a single global rate. For example, the reimbursement rate for a car is different from that of a motorcycle, scooter, or bicycle, so this should be handled automatically based on the vehicle used.

If these features were added, this would easily be a 5-star app for me.

Response from developer

Thank you for the detailed feedback! We’ve just added one of the improvements you mentioned in our latest update. You can now set your **Home and Work addresses** in Tripbook. When you park within approximately 150 meters of either location, Tripbook will automatically use your saved Home or Work address instead of a slightly different nearby address. We really appreciate your other suggestions as well, especially around smarter categorization and vehicle-specific mileage rates. Feedback like this helps us decide what to improve next.
