## What is Milesheet?

You probably don't deduct by the kilometre.

The per-kilometre rate you keep reading about is what an employer may reimburse an employee. If you drive for a living you're self-employed, and you claim actual vehicle costs multiplied by how much of your driving was for work.

That takes two things, and most apps give you one.

A LOGBOOK PROVES THE PERCENTAGE
Date, destination, purpose and distance — for business and personal driving, because the percentage is a ratio. Milesheet records drives automatically, so the number is built from all of your driving rather than the trips you remembered to log.

RECEIPTS PROVE THE DOLLARS
Scan fuel, insurance, maintenance and registration on the device. Nothing is uploaded. No bank account is connected.

THE ARITHMETIC BETWEEN THEM
• Canada — actual costs times business use, the way the CRA asks for it
• United States — the standard mileage rate and actual expenses side by side, so you can see which is larger
• Parking is claimed in full, not split by your percentage, because the whole fee was for work
• Export an audit-ready PDF and CSV: the logbook, the receipts, and every figure next to the sum that produced it

WHAT IT WON'T DO
Sell you insurance. Ask for your bank login. Show you ads. Guess at a number it doesn't have — an unclassified drive is never counted as business, and a missing rate is never estimated.

FREE TO LOG
Recording drives and scanning receipts is free and unlimited. Paying removes the watermark from exports, and the annual plan turns on automatic detection.
