## What is Mimi Hearing Test & Hear Boost?

Two hearing tests you can take at home, with the headphones you already own.

TONES, ONE EAR AT A TIME
Hold the button while you hear the tone, let go when it fades. The tone walks down until it disappears and back up until it comes back, four pitches in each ear, with a quiet hiss in the other ear so it cannot answer for the one being tested. About two minutes.

WORDS IN NOISE
Three spoken numbers against a background hiss, sixteen rounds. This is the test that measures what people actually complain about: hearing a voice but not catching the words. It is also the one measurement here that does not depend on how loud your headphones are, because the voice and the noise go through them together — which makes it the number worth watching over time.

WHAT YOU GET
• What the tones found, in words rather than in decibels
• Each ear on its own, and whether one is behind the other
• Which sounds are quiet for you, and why that makes speech unclear rather than quiet
• What it means in three everyday places: one to one, the television, a busy room
• A PDF you can keep or hand to a doctor
• Every check kept, so you can see whether anything is moving

HEAR BOOST: PUT THE WORDS BACK
• What is around you, louder, straight into your headphones
• Live text: every word in large type as it is said
• Read aloud: the same words in a clean voice, into your headphones
• Translation while someone is talking
• Record a conversation and read it afterwards
• A sound level meter, for when the room is the problem rather than your ears

YOUR RESULTS STAY ON YOUR PHONE
No account, nothing uploaded. The only copy that leaves is the PDF you choose to send.

WHAT THIS IS NOT
A screening, not a diagnosis. We are not a medical app. Your headphones, your room and your attention all move the result. It tells you whether something is worth looking into, and gives you a page to take with you. For a real answer, see a doctor.

Headphones are needed. Each ear is tested on its own, and a phone speaker cannot do that.

### 5/5 — Pretty cool little app

*2026-09-06*

I’m 66 and apparently everybody decided to start talking quieter at the same time 😂 At least that’s my story. Tried the sound amplifier with my headphones and was surprised how much more I could pick up. Pretty cool.

### 5/5 — Helpful for my mom

*2026-09-05*

My mom has been having more trouble following conversations lately, especially when several people are talking. We tried this as a simple hearing helper and she actually likes using it. The fact that she can work it herself is the best part.

### 5/5 — Simple controls

*2026-09-04*

What I like most is I didn’t need a tutorial just to figure it out. Put my earbuds in, adjusted the sound and that was pretty much it. Hear Boost does what I need without making it complicated.

### 5/5 — Family dinners are better

*2026-09-02*

My hearing isn’t what it used to be and family dinners can get LOUD with all the grandkids talking at once. Tried this with my earbuds and it helped me follow the conversation better. Nice to not feel left out.

### 5/5 — Got this for my dad

*2026-09-01*

My dad keeps saying everyone on TV “mumbles” lol. I put Hear Boost on his phone and showed him how to use it with his headphones. He picked it up pretty quickly and has been using it on his own. That’s a win in my book.

### 5/5 — Easy for me to use

*2026-08-29*

My grandson put this on my phone for me. I’m 78 and I’m not very good with all these apps but this one is easy. I put my headphones on and can hear people better without asking “what?” five times. That alone makes me happy!

### 5/5 — Actually pretty useful

*2026-08-28*

Downloaded this mostly out of curiosity. Didn’t expect much from a phone sound amplifier but it works better than I thought. I use it with my earbuds and voices come through much clearer.

### 5/5 — Really works

*2026-08-22*

Almost better than my hearing aid
