It’s a first time I’ve ever experienced a consumer product that could do this outside of a doctors office. One suggestion would be to increase the time interval between tests and perhaps to give the user a oaise button. The purpose being to give me a chance to breathe between tests as breathing is too noisy to work with this test and you have to breathe sometime right? Also found I found times when the response button debounce was too long, so it didn’t record my press. Using AirPods 2, I got pretty much the same result as in doctors office, showing an injury-induced defect of hearing with my right ear. Inexplicably, the next few times I repeated the test on the same day, the sound was sent only to my left ear, even when the right ear was supposedly tested. Even more weirdly, when I try to use the app in the next day, it did not allow test any earbuds - only headphones must be used. Deleting and reinstalling the app did not help. Support from Mimi was completely ineffective - they just kept repeating the same questions, as if not believing what I was telling them, and nothing happened. The app dB meter that I got instead for the same purpose works just fine with my AirPods 2 Pro, producing reproducible results. Luckily, I see that my right ear shows at least some slow recovery of hearing in some parts of the spectrum. Whether the Mimi app could fix itself, that remains doubtful at this moment. ### 1/5 — Test stops no sound *2024-01-04, version 5.5.0* Test starts out ok but after 4 to 5 seconds there are no mor beeps and the test pauses asking if I want to restart or quit. I picked restart several times but got the same results. The graph displays ear to ear comparisons showing the different decibel frequencies. The hearing test industry uses something similar when testing and programming hearing aids. I have suffered from significant sudden hearing loss in the past (about 20% loss overnight) resulting in steroid injections that helped restore my hearing. This tool helps me scientifically monitor my hearing on a periodic basis, and compare with past results, rather than relying purely on my instinctive feel as to how my hearing is doing.
