### 4/5 — Love it but needs few fixes

*2022-05-01, version 1.0.9*

Pretty basic and easy to use which is a plus for folks that not tech savvy and older adults

Only issues is the microphone options has issues. Text works great but the microphone can never understand or did not catch anything. Also recommended it to few friends but their android keeps feeezing.

Looking forward to the success of this ap after improvements. Hope to have more people using this. It will greatly help to communicate with those with hearing issues . Also provides ability of more accessibility and inclusion.

### 3/5 — App sharing

*2021-08-18, version 1.0.9*

This app doesn’t give you options to share nor if you push save it doesn’t. Where does it go. So bad app

### 4/5 — It’s pretty good

*2020-12-12, version 1.0.9*

Ok this app is a good app I know a little sigh language now but the translator lady is soooooo creepy dude it’s horrifying I am truly terrified the hair the arms everything about it is petrifying but it’s good so 👍👏🏻 my only problem is how scary the lady is but good job it’s a good app

### 4/5 — Spells too many words

*2019-07-22, version 0.7.2*

I’ve noticed that many times instead of using a symbol for a word she hand spells it. I thought that was only used for names and and non-standard words. For example, She hand spelled the word “word.”

### 3/5 — Adjust the avatar...

*2019-05-16, version 0.7.2*

Quick question..how do I make the avatar face forward?

### 4/5 — Slow down feature

*2019-01-23, version 0.7.2*

This is a good app. I think it would be great if there was a feature that allowed you to slow her down. Sometime she signs so fast you can’t figure out what she’s doing.

### 4/5 — Really Good I just have a suggestion

*2018-11-25, version 0.7.2*

If you could make it slower thank you

### 3/5 — Glitchy but works

*2018-08-30, version 0.7.2*

The app can help with basics- but if you try to slow it down, the sign doesn’t complete, so I have trouble understanding. It is a free app that hasn’t been updated in a year though- so if you’re hesitant to spend, start here.

### 3/5 — Well... it’s not really accurate.

*2017-11-29, version 0.7.2*

This app does show you how to sign the signs you need. BUT, if you were to put in a whole English sentence it wouldn’t translate it to American Sign Language! Like I typed in “who’s your favorite musician?”And it literally signed it in that order. When it’s supposed to be signed “YOUR FAVORITE MUSICIAN WHO” it didn’t even Sign musician right. It just signed music... so if you’re looking for a TRUE asl app this isn’t it. But it does give good asl signs, just not in good asl structure.

### 4/5 — Brilliant!

*2017-08-16, version 0.7.2*

Very good for learning single words! You can end up putting words together too...Great app! You can rotate the person to see by different angles exactly the way the words need to be signed. Amazing. I can learn at my own pace too by going to settings for the speed control! Love it! Thanks to whoever developed this!! (:

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Speaker

*2022-04-07, version 1.0.9*

I love this app but I can’t speak to it I have to type for some reason all my other apps work except this one

### 1/5 — A review from a Deaf UX researcher

*2021-04-26, version 1.0.9*

Did you guys even hire ASL professionals to check for the app’s authenticity and the grammatical structure of ASL? Words that translate from English to ASL can’t be signed word by word. We also have to consider that there are some similar signs that have different meanings, which requires context and facial expressions. All the avatars show no emotion or body language. As a Deaf UX researcher, this is very disappointing.

### 1/5 — Microphone doesn’t work. Can’t send video. No Cust Serv

*2021-02-10, version 1.0.9*

1. Microphone doesn’t work at all. Get error message that it doesn’t understand me.

2. The forwarding feature doesn’t work at all. It says it’s preparing something but after 30 seconds, there’s nothing to send.

3. Doesn’t seem to be any customer service at all for this free product. I suggest Apple either gets the developer to set up a proper customer service facility or remove the app.

Message to Apple. Why do you force at least 1 star rating when some apps deserve no stars?

### 1/5 — My review

*2019-04-12, version 0.7.2*

This app is horrible! Half the signs on here are incorrect. When I signed words from this app to my ASL teacher, she corrected with a different sign and I felt like an idiot for trusting this app. I DO NOT recommend this app to anyone who is interested in trying to communicate in American Sign Language.

### 1/5 — Microphone doesn’t work

*2018-06-05, version 0.7.2*

Junk

### 2/5 — Won’t hear microphone or upload translation

*2021-08-28, version 1.0.9*

It cannot hear the microphone, just keep getting an error. The length of translation is very short and the video will not upload to send out.

### 2/5 — Not ASL

*2021-01-10, version 1.0.9*

Not sure what sign language this is but it’s certainly not asl.

### 2/5 — Dosent give right signs

*2020-12-22, version 1.0.9*

Dosent give you the proper signs

### 2/5 — Cannot distinguish meaning

*2018-12-11, version 0.7.2*

This app is not only inaccurate, but it cannot distinguish meaning between two English words. For example when you type in “American Sign Language” it gives you the signs “AMERICA+AGENT(person) SIGN (as in a street sign) LANGUAGE” when it should be signed “AMERICA SIGN (IX fingers pointed in meaning a sign/word) LANGUAGE”

If you are learning I DO NOT RECOMMEND

### 3/5 — it is an incredible free app, however it isn’t completely accurate

*2021-12-29, version 1.0.9*

i love the effort here and i think with a little tweaking, it could be really helpful!

### 5/5 — So far so goo

*2022-05-21, version 1.0.9*

This app is a wonderful app I work in HR and we have a few hearing impaired individuals that are employed with our company. When they come to the HR office this app give me and the employee a great way to communicate. Although I wish that you could change the avatar.

### 5/5 — love it! but

### 5/5 — Great

*2019-12-17, version 1.0.9*

This app is great I love learning sign language. It’s awesome because when I first sign in it shows me a random word. Lol the last time I signs in the random word was murder.

### 5/5 — Read!!!

*2019-10-05, version 1.0.9*

I love this app but please can you add facial expressions I know in sign language your face can change the words meaning overall I give this app ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

### 5/5 — Fav thing

*2019-07-14, version 0.7.2*

I love this app so much I never knew ASL till i heard of this app. 1 thing...I type in a sentence and it skips a word. Please fix this

### 5/5 — Better than the other free app

*2018-01-19, version 0.7.2*

I like this app better than any other free ASL app that I’ve tried. Some of the signs are a little off. For instance, it sometimes mixes up the words like and similar. But it is easier and more accurate than the others plus you can type in a sentence to translate! Oh, and it makes free!

### 5/5 — Learning sign language

*2017-12-26, version 0.7.2*

Im Learning sign language and this has worked great for me!

### 5/5 — Very easy to use

*2017-09-11, version 0.7.2*

What a fantastic app, if you want to learn or you have friends that are deaf and you would like to translate to them, this is a very cool app.
