## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.5.0 — 2026-10-21

Your jar just got safer.

• Backups are now password-protected. Choose a password when you export, and only someone with that password can open the file. Older backups can still be restored.
• Taking a photo or sharing a backup no longer asks you to unlock the app again when you come back.
• Small fixes and improvements.

If you forget your backup password, the backup cannot be opened, so keep it somewhere safe.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-10-14

Mind Jar 1.4 is our biggest reliability update yet, focused on keeping your memories safe.

NEW
• Smarter jar filters: filter by format (text, photo, voice, mood) and favorites, and combine filters to find exactly what you're looking for
• Privacy cover: when biometric lock is on, your journal is hidden in the app switcher
• Clearer trash: see exactly how many days remain before items are permanently deleted, and empty the trash in one step

SAFER DATA
• Stronger protection for your encrypted journal, plus a new recovery screen if your jar can't be opened
• Backup restore now merges with your existing entries, keeps the newest version of each memory, and never overwrites your photos or voice notes
• Restored time capsules are rescheduled automatically

IMPROVEMENTS & FIXES
• Sealed time capsules now stay hidden until they unlock, in search, the gallery, the constellation and Yearbook
• Favorite, edit and delete now work when you open a memory from Search, Memories or Constellation
• Streaks and date filters are now accurate across daylight saving time changes
• Voice recording: a clear prompt when microphone access is needed, plus more reliable recording and re-recording
• Capture: a confirmation before you discard unsaved changes, and no more duplicate saves
• Yearbook works fully offline with bundled fonts, loads pages faster and uses less memory
• Smoother jar and constellation animations with better battery use
• More of the app is translated, and reminders now use your app language
