### 4/5 — Upload data when no more battery

*2026-01-01*

Hello,
Could it be possible to upload data when the battery of the headset run down (for the night sessions) so that we don’t lose data

### 4/5 — most amazing brain wave display ever!

*2025-11-08, version 2.4.3*

Thanks to Mr. Clutterbuck for the most amazing app ever! (next to F-I-M of course). You would not believe what many brainwave, cognition, neuroscience, meditation, hrv, and biofeedback analyst's are doing with Brain Monitor and Muse headbands! (nor what I am doing). this app could help to lead to the some of the most amazing discoveries! Thank-you Mr. C!!

### 4/5 — App needs to be updated !

*2025-02-13*

I recently changed my Muse 1 for a new Muse S headband.
Still compatible with Mind Monitor but there is a bug as battery reading remains at 1% all the time…
Please update !

### 5/5 — EXCELENTE

*2023-12-14*

Complexo, mas muito interessante.Ainda pegando o jeito, mas acredito ser fidedigno.

### 5/5 — Grateful for this app

*2023-10-09, version 2.3.0*

James, the creator, makes himself available to customers with questions – so rare for an app maker! Really happy to have a tool to break down the Muse signals into individual brain waveforms. Would love for there to be more options besides Dropbox and email for recording and saving data. Thank you, James, for all you do!

### 5/5 — Excellent software great support

*2023-02-06, version 2.3.0*

I have used this app in conjunction with a muse headset to record meaningful and significant changes in theta and alpha activity as part of my PhD research.

I had some queries about how the data was process and was met with helpful, prompt and useful responses by the developer.

Very much recommended.

### 5/5 — New User

*2022-07-20, version 2.3.0*

I just got my Muse 2 and installed this software. I am very happy because this software added some neat features. The on screen graphing feature was really useful in visualizing what is happening. I am glad this program was recommended to me. The developer is very responsive with tips using his program.

### 5/5 — Fantastic App and Great Support Team

*2022-01-19, version 2.2.0*

The app is very user friendly, visually pleasing and fun to navigate around to see what’s going on under there! Swift and caring answer from the support team. Doesn’t get much better than this.

### 5/5 — Worth the price of admission

*2021-12-29, version 2.2.0*

When I bought the Muse headset I guess I didn’t research it enough because I thought it would come with what Mind Monitor offers. I quickly realized my mistake but was relieved to learn that there was a reasonably priced app that, working with the Muse headset, provides the type of real-time visual data feedback that I had been expecting with the Muse headset.

I haven’t had either the headset or the app for long enough to completely attest to their merits. But, thanks to some initial questions I had and the unbelievably fast, thoughtful and personal replies from the developer, James, I am sold on the Mind Monitor product.

It would not seem unreasonable to suggest that the Muse folks should pay him every time Mind Monitor is sold because he adds an important dimension to their product that seems to be otherwise missing.

I’m confident that the capabilities of the app will far exceed my ability to completely grasp the concepts for quite awhile. But I’m anxious to learn more and it’s comforting to know that the developer is a real-live resource that comes with the price of admission.

### 5/5 — An app that turns MUSE into an EEG measuring instrument

*2021-11-27, version 2.2.0*

Mind monitor can extract raw data (including gyro sensor and remaining battery level) in CSV format from the "MUSE" developed as a meditation training tool.
This allows MUSE to be used as an EEG measurement device.
It is very easy to use because you can customize detailed settings such as measurement interval and spectrum display.
I'm using both iOS and Android versions, both of which work smoothly.
I was able to get immediate technical support, including usage questions.
I am grateful for developing such a great app.

### 5/5 — Amazingly convenient highly recommended

*2021-09-08, version 2.2.0*

Amazing app, more convenient than Muse and others. Connects immediately and great support.

### 5/5 — Brilliant app for research and clinical applications

*2021-06-18, version 2.2.0*

I use this app for different areas of research and checking my patients cognitive activity in different tasks. The online feedback screen, method of export to Excel and the support page are fantastic.

### 5/5 — Brilliant app for building your own biofeedback systems and interactive artworks

*2021-05-26, version 2.2.0*

A comprehensive and much needed app for people building their own brain computer interactions. The OSC support is excellent - and the design and layout of the app is clear and intuitive
Thanks!!!!

### 5/5 — Brilliant design, make sure to use online charts!

*2021-05-17, version 2.2.0*

I’ve been using Muse for a few years now but just recently diagnosed with a brain tumour and epilepsy. Having fun seeing how near the EEG results are to the hospital’s. Not what this was devised for but it’s keeping me amused!

### 3/5 — Often Cant Get A Signal

*2021-04-19, version 2.2.0*

Even though my Muse App is able to get a clear signal the signal on this app drops very frequently and wont pick up the signal again.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2021-03-27, version 2.2.0*

Great app, great support. Adds so much value to the Muse brain scanning hardware. Really useful when working with our mental well-being clients.

### 4/5 — Loving this app

*2021-03-19, version 2.2.0*

I just got my muse and the data layouts are amazing my only questions is how can I see more intervals on the hz graph to see more specific frequency’s my brain is in

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Connection Issue

*2025-09-01, version 2.4.0*

There’s a bug where even though my muse s Athena is connected to muse, Mind Monitor stays on the screen that says “Please connect your Muse headband.” and I can’t get off this screen. Please fix this!!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t connect

*2023-02-25, version 2.3.0*

And there doesn’t seem to be a way to contact anyone. Requesting a refund.

### 1/5 — Die App ist nutzlos und überteuert

*2021-10-20, version 2.2.0*

### 1/5 — Not at all useful for laypeople

*2020-05-27, version 2.2.0*

This couldn’t be more complicated to interpret or use for the average person. And by average, I mean anyone without an advanced degree in neuroscience. I was looking for something fairly straightforward that would tell me the primary state I was in during meditation (alpha, beta, delta, etc.). It was not nearly clear enough in the description that this is exclusively for neuroscientists. If you’re not one, you’re throwing away $15. Oh and also it randomly won’t connect, even if you follow all of the troubleshooting instructions.

### 1/5 — Beautiful, meaningless, data visualization

*2019-07-11, version 2.0.18*

The charts are pretty but unless your a neuroscientist, this readings mean nothing.

The quality of the data also depends on the Muse 2 sitting property on your head. You have to sit perfectly still, can can’t talk, lest a sensor goes haywire.

### 1/5 — Waste

*2018-07-11, version 2.0.16*

It won’t connect and the page that suppose to help you, is no longer working !

### 1/5 — Failed to conned - Did not do any better than InteraXon

*2017-05-03, version 2.0.13*

Seems like a nice product but read the connection worked a lot better than native InteraXon Muse app. Muse does not connect - have gone around with Technical Support at least a dozen interactions. Muse InteraXon app is terribly bugging per my and other reviews. Support was poor - they said buy a new device. Was hoping Muse Monitor would fix but it did not work any better unfortunately. Could well be a hardware problem.

### 1/5 — Instructions?

*2015-11-03, version 1.0.2*

Could be a great app, but a lack of instructions makes it hard to understand the data and how to understand its significance. Also the export function is confusing.

If this app is intended only for people with technical expertise, it should have been made clear.

As it stands, it is a very expensive app with little value to the average person...

### 2/5 — Thanks !

*2019-02-06*

Good.

**Developer response:** Note: You must fully close the Interaxon Muse Calm app before connecting the Muse to another app. On most devices you can do this by double tapping the home button and swiping the app off the screen.

If you are having a problem with the new 2018 Muse 2 getting a good sensor connection on AF7, this is due to the placement of the new heart rate sensor. You must tighten the band quite a lot to get good skin contact. If you do not need heart rate information, then I would recommend switching to the 2016 Muse, which does not have this issue and is currently $50 cheaper.

Please Email me at Support@MuseMonitor.com and I'll be glad to answer any other questions you have:-)

### 2/5 — Nice app

*2019-02-02*

This app is stable but i have a question in app it shows data in db now wherever we read about waves its in hz, so how to calculate that which brain wave is of what Strength?

**Developer response:** Power Spectral Density for a specific frequency can be seen on the discrete frequency graph. For the absolute waves, the one with the highest db (Power Spectral Density) is the strongest at that point in time. Email me if you need more help :-) Support@Mind-Monitor.com

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Wonderful app

*2026-03-19, version 2.4.4*

A great tool that significantly improves the accessibility and flexibility of usage of Muse headbands. Great for educational and research projects. Well done!

### 5/5 — Excellent must have companion

*2026-02-12, version 2.4.4*

If you have a muse. You should get this app to expand your device’s capabilities!

### 5/5 — Five stars to James!

*2025-11-13, version 2.4.4*

Really impressed by how responsive you are — I didn’t expect this level of service from an app developer. You’re awesome!

### 5/5 — Excellent app with excellent support

*2025-08-19, version 2.4.0*

The best app for Muse S, Muse 2 and Muse S Athena for meditation data capture and screen recording.

The only downside is it doesn’t support displaying atomic clock with 1/1000th sec accuracy right on screen. I had to use it in split screen mode to use another app for atomic clock. It doesn’t support displaying live fNIRS data yet (log only). No live HRV either. If it can display brain wave as is with added HRV, fNIRS & atomic clock on the same screen, it will solve all of my problems having to use a few iOS devices to record data for my mindfulness meditation

### 5/5 — Fast response and raw data can be accessed

*2025-01-14, version 2.3.0*

My team currently use mind monitor for our experiment. There is a moment we accidentally save the data into .muse format. James informed us how to retrieve the data to be readable by matlab/ csv

### 5/5 — Amazing app and amazing support

*2024-11-09, version 2.3.0*

This app has everything I’ve needed for my undergrad research. No only that, but I was confused on what some stuff in it meant and when I sent an email to their support link, I got an answer back within around an hour or so with a super detailed explanation to help me understand. I am so grateful this was created :)

### 5/5 — App as advertised and responsive developer

*2024-07-24, version 2.3.0*

The app is as advertised and the developer is responsive via email. A pleasure to work with.

### 5/5 — Levelled up

*2024-07-08, version 2.3.0*

As a non-tech person it did take me a little time and asking for help to set up the excel system but once it was done I’m loving the ability to create graphs from the muse data. Thanks for creating such an incredible tool! Looking forward to introducing this to my patients

### 5/5 — OUTSTANDING PROGRAMMING & UTILITY

*2024-05-23, version 2.3.0*

Thanks to Mr. Clutterbuck for the most amazing app ever! (next to F-I-M of course). Your average person would not believe what many brainwave analysts are doing with Brain Monitor, nor what I am doing, but this app could lead to the one of the most amazing discoveries in modern times… its beyond anything i’ve ever experienced! Thank-you Mr.C!!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-02-02, version 2.3.0*

I have been using this to create a real-time neurofeedback tool and it works great. I use it for daily meditation. The UI is simple and has any feature you want to use!!
