### 2/5 — :(

### 5/5 — Works well and great support

*2025-07-20*

Fills the gap that IOS should have by default. Simply alerts you before a Calendar meeting to enable a focus mode (such as DND or custom focus). I tried and tried my own shortcut scripts to no avail. This simple app solves the problem with a single click vs having to swipe, select a focus, press end of event etc. unfortunately Apple does not support automatically turning on a focus during an event but this single click app is the next best thing. Also great support when I had questions and request for bug fixes.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the kind words and for using Mind the Focus, it is great to see that you find the app useful!

### 2/5 — Needs more options

*2025-01-08*

From all I’ve seen it simply reminds me to turn on focus mode, but it turns on Do Not Disturb. Needs to ask which focus mode to use

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback, JustAnotherTeacher! Since your feedback, we have updated the app to provide different focus modes to choose from. Have you tried these?

### 1/5 — Can’t get it to work

*2025-01-01, version 3.2.8*

Literally doesn’t seem to achieve when it says it does. I wish there was a trial of this app so users could establish before losing their money

### 2/5 — Nice idea but

*2024-09-19, version 2.6.1*

Nice idea and maybe I didn’t read the description properly but I don’t see the point of this app it it can’t set the focus automatically. I understand that it maybe a restriction on apples part.

### 5/5 — Just what I needed

*2024-08-22, version 2.4.0*

For years, I’ve been struggling to work out a way to activate do not disturb based on specific kinds of calendar events. It’s annoying that there’s no native way to do this. This app is great using Shortcuts to do this very task. Recommended!

### 1/5 — It's not automatic

*2024-06-11*

I want my refund

**Developer response:** I am sorry to hear that your are disappointed with the app! You can request a refund through Apple.

### 3/5 — Free Tier?

*2024-05-15*

2024.05.15 - Just downloaded today and eager to see if it works as expected/hoped. $3.99 isn’t too bad, but would have been nice if there was a free tier to test drive it since we all know that doing anything with Apple Shortcuts is a pain. Will update this review at a future date.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback and for giving the app a try! I understand the desire for a trial version; however, due to the one-time purchase pricing model, a trial option isn't feasible. Similarly, offering a free tier would require additional features or limitations to incentivize upgrades, which might complicate the user experience.

I hope you find value in the app and appreciate your understanding. Should you have any suggestions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at dpfuerst@gmail.com.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.14.10 — 2025-11-30

This update fixes a bug where the changed times of events from the calendar weren't displayed correctly.

### 3.14.9 — 2025-11-14

This update fixes a bug where rituals from calendars that you haven't ignored weren't displayed.

### 3.14.7 — 2025-10-23

This update improves navigation in the app! Calendars are now displayed in a separate tab and can be muted without being ignored. This means that their muted events will still be displayed in the events tab.

Additionally, we have introduced Rituals! Rituals determine the settings for events that take place in a specific calendar, with a specific title and a specific location, without being part of a series. Rituals are automatically suggested for matching events. You can also create rituals manually.

For all users on macOS, we now provide a menu bar entry to comfortably access the next event from there. If the menu bar entry is activated, you can also remove the app icon from the Dock and hide its windows.

Enjoy this update!

### 3.14.2 — 2025-10-20

### 3.10.3 — 2025-09-28

This update introduces a companion app for Apple Watch and adds location-based notifications!

By default, events that are associated with a location in Apple Calendar are notified when you arrive there.
Tapping the notification activates the configured focus mode until you leave the event's location.
If configured, a notification for the follow-up notification arrives as you leave the event's location.

Note: activating a focus from Apple Watch cannot be supported, since programmatically running shortcuts on Apple Watch is not supported.
