Clearly this requires cloud access and so all the data that you’re putting into it including your audio and the transcript of that audio is being sent, but that’s not reflected in the privacy policy. It should say usage data is also collected even if it’s not tied to your identity. ### 1/5 — Lifetime Free? *2025-02-23* The option of lifetime is missing in the app though they were supposed to provide it for free. ### 1/5 — Charged me over $100 and then couldn’t get a refund… *2025-02-22* Downloaded this app to try out recording my thoughts to and from work to help with my ADHD brain overload. Ended up having surgery a few days later and completely forgot about it. Tried contacting the Apple Store for a refund of the $150 it charged me and they refused to refund claiming it was ineligible TWICE! Unbelievable. Truly ridiculous amount of money to pay to simply record yourself talking. I decided I would give this app a try and if I liked it I would purchase. BUTTT, after 3 days I got charged for the yearly subscription. But even then I figured, the purchase has already gone through, I might as well just make use of it. So then as I began to use it, I got even more frustrated! This app that charged me more than $90 didn’t even work!!! After recording my audio it would freeze and not rewrite anything. I even tried typing the message and nada. So then I was like, let me try restarting my phone, closing the app, toggling the WiFi on and off but nothing helped! After all that, I decided to reach out for some help… I emailed customer service seeking a solution but no one ever responded. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. 😊 ### 3/5 — Almost good - with a big problem *2025-02-24* The Achilles heel of this app is that it uses Apple’s speech recognition to transcribe your dictation which is vastly inferior to other solutions, like OpenAI whisper. So you start with a very poor quality transcription, with no punctuation, missing parts and incorrectly recognized words… and it’s a losing battle from there on. With a low quality original, no matter how good the AI rewriting is, it can’t get information back that was lost during transcription - GIGO. Two additional tips: 1. Counting down from 20…? Why? Do I really need to know how many less minutes than 20 I dictated instead of… well, just how many minutes I dictated? 2. You have the whole screen. Plenty of space for a huge pause button that I can tap with my thumb even without looking instead of wasting the whole screen on white space and having a tiny pause button too close to the stop button. For actual dictation where I often stop to think about the next thing I want to say and pause frequently, the pause button is literally the most important part of the UI. A simple time display might be more intuitive, so I’ll take that into consideration. And the pause button—totally agree! The hay throw me 20 bucks and hopefully it’s what you like. Idea is wrong with so many of these apps proliferating the market, I find it inexcusable that a three or seven day free trial can’t be offered. So I can’t say if this app is good or not it’s just another one that I have downloaded but I cannot test out without spending money which I won’t. Mindclear interpreted my speech and wrote a blandified Note. It was hard to find the original transcript which was terrible - missed words, but the content appeared in the Note version. The Journal and the Summary versions were more helpful with the details actually spoken. It is strange to have AI’s opinion on what was said. Very strange indeed. It is quite seamless. I was glad to be able to find the original transcript. **Developer response:** Thanks for sharing your experience!
