### 4/5 — Perfect scores degrade over time

*2021-04-24, version 1.0*

This game is perfect, as evidenced by the fact that it hasn’t been updated once since its release. That’s amazing, but it also makes one wonder whether new levels are forthcoming. This game gets a perfect score … but stars degrade with time. One great thing about this game is that levels are generated at random, which is fortunate, because it allows me to replay MS-1 through -5 daily. But I wish there were N, O, P, Q …

### 4/5 — Fun but could be better

*2020-04-07, version 1.0*

I’m a big puzzle game fan. This is a pretty decent puzzle game, I’m enjoying it so far. It’s been incredibly easy so far so hopefully it gets a bit more challenging without just becoming a guessing game.

I’m a bit disappointed because it’s missing some basic minesweeper features that would improve the game. First off, you can’t mark a square as clear? You can only mark with a flag or not. This is my biggest gripe, it’s really annoying I can’t mark a square as clear (meaning no mine).

Second, placing flags does not adjust the number of mines in a row/col shown on the side of the board in the light bulb things. It would be really nice if they updated as you place flags.

The game is basically just minesweeper with a few twists so the lack of basic minesweeper features is a turn off (marking squares clear is crucial), and I think I’ll check out a different minesweeper game and maybe return to this in the future.

### 4/5 — My only complaint

*2020-03-03, version 1.0*

Is that if you try to pull up Control Center by swiping down from the top, it resets your game. I wish the devs would fix that little quirk. Otherwise, no problems. I like how it’s sufficiently challenging to keep it interesting but not so much that it frustrates you into giving up. I bought this game during the holiday season sale, no regrets. Really enjoy playing it.

### 4/5 — Too easy to pass

*2019-08-08, version 1.0*

Good game but if the levels are randomly generated why are there so few of them before you finish the game?

### 4/5 — Haptics

*2019-05-30, version 1.0*

Would be really helpful if there was haptic feedback when placing a flag. I also agree that a marked as clear option would be nice. I found this game first on Nintendo Switch and the flag mode/move mode feature is kind of nice too (don’t have to worry about accidentally moving onto a bomb).

### 4/5 — Solid

*2019-04-09, version 1.0*

If I remember correctly, the game has 185 levels (130 regular, 55 advanced), which amounts to a minimum of ~5 hours of gameplay. The puzzles are not fixed, either. So, if you complete a level (or mess up during one), you can just refresh the level to get a new arrangement.

Aside from the randomness of the puzzle generation, the colors/visuals and sound are the best aspects of the game.

The facet of the game I found most annoying was the mechanism to place flags, which requires you to press and hold. Sometimes, the game doesn’t register the hold on an adjacent square and thinks you want to move there...which can need to the sweeper getting toasted. I would have much preferred a toggle switch so that flags could just be placed with a tap. (Also helpful would have been a third toggle option to place a third “maybe a flag or bomb is here” type of token for helping map out possible future pathways.

I found the game relatively easy to complete, but there are some necessary instructions for the game (that I don’t remember being in the tutorials) for those of you coming from a strictly minesweeper background, as you’ll often find yourselves in a situation where you can’t logically figure the correct path forward (unless you solve the entire puzzle on a piece of paper at that point).

First, if you have the option to move to a square with a symbol on it, always move to it.

Second, if none of the surrounding squares have a symbol but there’s one that you know *can’t* have a bomb on it, always move to it.

Third, if neither of the first 2 steps apply, if one of the surrounding squares would lead to a dead end, don’t move to it.

There were rare instances where none of these 3 applied and it was basically a guessing game choosing 1 of 2 possible squares, but, if you err, you can always just refresh the level to get a new puzzle arrangement if you’re like me and nothing less than 3 stars will suffice. 8^)

### 5/5 — Fantastic game :)

*2019-03-31, version 1.0*

I got three stars on every level and I loved it the whole time.

### 4/5 — Well designed

*2019-03-07, version 1.0*

This game is very fun and the graphics are cute. The only thing that peeves me is the occasional snoring sounds and the repeated music track for every stage.

### 5/5 — Great Game!

*2019-03-05, version 1.0*

Really fun game. Hoping they make more levels......

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2019-02-22, version 1.0*

I have solved every level. Using only logic (no luck needed), you can beat every single one. This game is an absolute blast, and I highly recommend it!

### 5/5 — Cool

*2019-01-23*

Macht Spaß bis zum letzten Level.

### 4/5 — Clever but frustrating fat fingers

*2019-01-21, version 1.0*

Super clever, very fun. Gets a bit redundant but overall a clever twist on the old Windows standby

Only complaint is that on large boards (eg, 13x8) the boxes are so small that it’s very easy to fat finger mistakes

### 4/5 — Schönes an minesweeper angelehntes Puzzle

*2019-01-16*

### 5/5 — Epic!

*2019-01-04, version 1.0*

Amazing game that masters that “just one more” mechanic!!

### 5/5 — Brilliant Game, But......

*2019-01-02, version 1.0*

Needs more levels!!!! Now!!!! Please!!!!

### 5/5 — If you like Minesweeper

*2019-01-02, version 1.0*

You’ll love this game. While it can be easily beaten by someone experienced with this type of game, the charm and detail make the journey thoroughly engaging. A charm all around and worth the price. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Fun little game of deduction

*2018-12-29, version 1.0*

Someone finally made a more complicated version of minesweeper that’s fun.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Great game - support landscape on iPad

*2020-07-21, version 1.0*

This is a great game. iPads tend to be used in landscape mode with the new keyboard and all. This game forces portrait. FAIL

### 1/5 — Idiotic

*2019-05-24, version 1.0*

This game is lame. There is no strategy to it, unless strategy counts as just knowing in which direction the computer wants you to go. You can literally just guess your way around the board and win 90% of the time in under 10 seconds. Waste of money, I thought it was going to be more like the original minesweeper which I would recommend instead.

### 1/5 — No more levels

*2018-08-08, version 1.0*

Why

### 2/5 — Has nothing to do with minesweeper

*2020-04-11, version 1.0*

The game resets when I check a notification. Cool.

### 2/5 — Fun but a bit too easy!

*2018-05-26, version 1.0*

Pretty good but it would be nice to have some more challenging levels.

### 3/5 — Nice game, poorly designed controls

*2018-06-15, version 1.0*

I like this game though the controls are bad. Marking bombs is something you do very frequently but you have to tap and hold for a second to mark. Really slows down what could be a fast paced game. Customisation would have been useful. Maybe hold a flag button with one finger while tapping the squares to mark bomb locations. Or why not utilise the iphone’s force touch for marking bombs. Also, I’d prefer to swipe in a direction to move rather than have to tap the square I want to move to. Just feels awkward.

### 3/5 — Pretty fun

*2018-06-07, version 1.0*

Need a way to mark clear spots or some other visual indicator that you have fulfilled the requirements of each row or column.

### 3/5 — Needs more of a challenge

*2018-06-05, version 1.0*

Decent logic based puzzler but it’s too easy for too long. The very last set of levels are fun but the difficulty needs to ramp up evenly before them and it doesn’t. Definite potential but too easy right now.

### 3/5 — A fun variant of minesweeper

*2018-05-27, version 1.0*

This is actually a game I've wanted to see for a long time, and for the most part it's well executed. But after a point, the solutions become intuitive and the game doesn't increase in difficulty.
For a future version of I'd like to see more tricks and traps. At the moment there are no dead ends, so if you see a square adjacent to your position that definitely doesn't have a mine on it, you should always move onto it. I would like to be given multiple options occasionally and be forced to think ahead to determine the correct solution. The game is too simple otherwise.

### 3/5 — Good presentation, but game is very easy

*2018-05-18, version 1.0*

Game looks and plays great. My only issue is the puzzles are too easy. They seem to be randomly generated and a lot of the time you will get puzzles, even late in the game, that are just too simple.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good fun brain exercise

*2024-03-14, version 1.0*

I enjoy this game. I can play it on my phone or with the family. Gets everyone think together.
The song gets a little repetitive….

That’s my only issue.

### 5/5 — Très bon

*2020-08-30, version 1.0*

*2020-08-29*

### 5/5 — De lo mejor

*2020-07-16, version 1.0*

*2020-03-27, version 1.0*

Graphisme sympa et assez addictif.

### 5/5 — Really great game

*2020-02-16, version 1.0*

App is really great. Enjoyed playing it but have completed it now. Need more levels please

*2019-12-26, version 1.0*

### 5/5 — Fantastic blend of Minesweeper and Sudoku

*2019-12-03, version 1.0*

I was absolutely enthralled by this game for a month, until I completed every level with the highest rating. Would definitely buy a sequel.

### 5/5 — Fun Puzzles

*2019-10-25, version 1.0*

Great remix of a classic game. Fun puzzles that get quite challenging towards the end, especially when achievement hunting.

### 5/5 — Cute little game

*2019-06-18, version 1.0*

Clean and cute graphic, music can be a bit repetitive but has the cheerful vibe. Level is well designed, maybe a bit on the easy side, but advanced levels do require some brain exercise. Overall, I would say worth the price :)
PS: the name says Minesweeper, but it’s actually quite different from the classic minesweeper.
