### 5/5 — Hands down the best minesweeper app

*2022-03-10*

Great UI and stats display that make this app a joy to play. There are also very light gamification elements that encourage no mistake games and lowering your average time which is just the right about of gamification for me. Often times it can be very overbearing and pointless but I think this app strikes a perfect balance for many of the elements it’s working with. Hats off guys such a perfect little app.

### 5/5 — Great App!!

*2021-12-31*

I was tired of minesweeper rounds coming down to 50/50 shots and this is a great solution! The flagging can take some getting used to initially but pay attention to the center icon when it transitions to the flag symbol and consider turning off vibration feedback, then you’re golden. Paid version sounds well worth it!!

### 5/5 — 만족

### 5/5 — Wow

*2021-09-05*

Can’t believe it’s free it’s amazing
My favourite app

### 4/5 — Minesweeper without guessing

*2021-08-17*

Im a big minesweeper fan, but every game comes down to guessing. 50/50s are completely removed in this version of minesweeper, although i wish you could have the same look of classic minesweeper in this version

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Get rid of the undo feature

*2026-05-23*

If you fail it doesn’t end the game. It lets you undo. Defeats the purpose of playing.

### 1/5 — Not ad-free as claimed

*2024-01-09*

I downloaded Mineswifter specifically because the App Store and the dev said it was ad-free, but ads play whenever I open a new game. Would have otherwise been 5 stars if it actually WAS ad-free, but the bait-and-switch drops my rating severely.

### 2/5 — Nicht ohne 50/50

*2022-02-23*

### 3/5 — Man muss trotzdem raten

*2025-02-23*

Optik und Handhabung ist toll, aber es kommt doch immer wieder zur Situation, in der man raten muss.

### 3/5 — Not always solvable

*2021-07-20*

The best minesweeper interface, hands down, but the solvable claim is bunk.

**Developer response:** Email me a screenshot of a board and I will be happy to explain how to solve it – just go to the settings then About Mineswifter > Send Feedback. The game uses a standard constraint-based Minesweeper solver (i.e. it uses the revealed numbers to prove certain tiles must be safe or dangerous) and does not make guesses. I also play the game regularly and have never had to guess.

### 4/5 — Eher für ältere

*2026-01-12*

### 4/5 — A very good game

*2024-07-14*

I’ve played a few different versions of Mine Sweeper and this is probably the best. It’s so much more satisfying when you finish a game because you figure out the pattern instead of being on the lucky side of a 50/50.
There are a couple of things that I wish it did better though. First, I like that it vibrates when I hold it to place a mine, that small haptic feedback is very important, but I don’t like that every time I tap on a square, even if it’s just to move around it vibrates. Also, this is small, but I wish it had a more classic Mine Sweeper color scheme option.
Aside from those it is the best Mine Sweeper I’ve found.

### 4/5 — Like classic Minesweeper but not quite guess free

*2022-06-30*

The guess free function doesn’t work perfectly but it’s pretty good. I enjoy this game.

**Developer response:** Hm, so the board solver in Mineswifter only uses the revealed numbers to determine safe spots, and it's designed to crash if it ever accidentally clicks on a mine (so I'll receive a crash report). I've been playing for a few years now and have never had to guess and haven't received any of those crash reports. All boards are fully solved by Mineswifter before they are ever presented to the player – if it can't solve a board, it skips it and generates a new board until one is guaranteed to be solvable.

Remember that the number of flags remaining is sometimes relevant: if there are zero flags left, all remaining tiles must be safe to click. And if there are two tiles where the last mine can be but three tiles left, that third tile is safe to click. Things like that.

If you want you can tweet or email me a screenshot of a situation that seems to require guessing and I'll take a look. Always happy to help.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2026-05-28*

Contrary to many reviews, every level is solvable. There are small pockets that are temporarily guesswork only, but once you solve the rest, you can figure out where the bombs are based on the number of mines left. I do wish there was more variety though, some more levels. The paid version is identical to this one so... why even have it?

### 5/5 — Mine Hold Time

*2025-08-19*

Would be great if you could lower the time required to hold for a mine to less than 0.15seconds, can feel a bit clunky.

### 5/5 — I love mineswifter

*2024-12-18*

This app saved my marriage

### 5/5 — Great Game besides one thing.

*2024-07-25*

Please for the love of god just slightly increase the amount you can zoom out; in medium games you can zoom out perfectly to the point of 1 column missing on the left or right. That column being perfectly out of sight has ruined so many of my perfect streaks because I thought there were no more tiles in that direction.

### 5/5 — This is the one

*2024-02-27*

Love the daily challenge and I only see ads when I play the difficulty over and over. I only play the daily and it’s perfect.

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2024-02-08*

I was looking for a fun minesweeper app with no ads, and thats exactly what i got! its loads of fun, you should totaly get it

### 5/5 — At Last

*2023-12-19*

At last solvable minesweeper. I am pleased. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Perfect minesweeper app

*2023-12-10*

No ads, no unnecessary purchases, and the penalty system allows for learning while also providing a reasonable penalty that still pressures the player to sweep quickly AND perfectly.

### 5/5 — Best version of minesweeper

*2023-09-30*

Sleekest design, good daily challenges

### 5/5 — Awesome! Two suggestions.

*2023-08-11*

I love the app! It’s super sleek and looks great, especially on dark mode. It works great and I’ve had no issues.

Two suggestions, however. Provide an option to disable the “undo” button and just end the game immediately. Second, a feature where you can create a custom board size and mine count.
