One problem. THE ADS. WHY DO I HAVE TO DEAL WITH MORE AI SLOP ADS, AND WORST IF ALL, IT IS DELIBERATELY COPYING MINECRAFT. WORST YET, THE ADS HAVE HUMANOID “CREEPERS”, “ZOMBIES” THAT DON’T DO ANYTHING BUT STAND STILL AS “STEVE” KILLS THEM ALL, AND THE “ENDER DRAGON,” IF YOU CAN EVEN CALL IT THAT, BEING RIDEN BY “STEVE.” PLEASE FIX YOUR ADS. Coming back to it and starting over was refreshing. The new stamina system was a little irritating at first but I see the necessity for it. The one thing I don’t like is the maxed out lighthouse upgrade that’s supposed to give a “high” chance at emeralds every time you merge a block has not triggered once in over 400 merges. It used to trigger very frequently. TL:DR - Do not bother playing this game if you are free to play like me. Game mechanics limited by ads, energy system, and pay to play features. I’ve played this game years ago and essentially completed it (reached final mergable block and fully built village) so I deleted it from my phone. Recently I saw an ad for it and thought I should download it and play it for nostalgia’s sake. I knew there were compulsory ads before, so I turned off internet and the game still worked luckily. But now, with the energy system making you have to wait a period of time before tapping blocks, playing the game has become extremely slow and frankly unfun to play. I would have to come back after like 15 minutes just to play for 1 minute. And to rub it in your face, the game advertises a subscription plan to remove the energy bar. A SUBSCRIPTION PLAN for a MOBILE GAME? Unbelievable. So you have compulsory ads, video ad rewards popping up everywhere, and an energy system that prevents you from progressing the game unless you want to pay or wait a long time for energy to recover. Not to mention, the energy system essentially makes monster contracts impossible. The contracts require you to kill a certain amount of monsters and/or retrieve certain loot drops. However, when you encounter tougher enemies, the weaker ones barely show up anymore. With the contracts having such low time restrictions and the energy system limiting the amount of playtime, there’s no way you can possibly finish a contract in time (especially normal contracts, good luck finding skeletons and bones in 20 minutes). The harder contracts have a time constraint of 4 hours iirc, which may seem like it’s enough time. Again, the higher block you achieve, the larger the monster spawn pool and the smaller chance of finding the monster you want to hunt. Monster loot drops are not guaranteed either, so have fun fighting 1 skeleton every 15 minutes and getting absolutely nothing useful within 2 hours. Maybe you’ll get lucky and find a single bone within that time. You’ll need like 2 or 3 of those to complete some of the quests btw. Since the skeletons barely spawn the higher up you go, you can’t get the bone bow unless you grinded early on or grind a really long time at the later stages of the game. The “high chance of receiving emeralds from merging” perk from the lighthouse in the village isn’t very high at all. Most of the time, you get nothing per merge. I would assume the drop rate is around 0.5% or lower. Recharging energy costs 20 gems, so just simply playing the game for one session (500 total energy, 5-8 taps per block) isn’t sustainable. The village upgrades that don’t require a certain block discovery by progressing are usually useless, since most of the buildings require supplies to trade for items. At the very most, you would get 20 supplies every 8 minutes if you have both garden/farms fully upgraded without emeralds. Some stations charge from 5 supplies up to 100. Emerald exchange (max upgrade) is 2 emeralds per 100 supplies. If you were to use only the lighthouse emerald exchange for the energy refills, it would take 400 minutes (6 hr 40 min) to get 20 emeralds. As if you would want to stick around for that long to collect the supplies in a timely manner… I’m very disappointed.
