## What is Mini Walkie Talkie?

Mini Walkie Talkie is an end-to-end encrypted push-to-talk app that works online, offline, nearby, and over the internet. Add trusted contacts by scanning each other’s QR code, then press and hold to talk. Works on your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch (standalone).

The app automatically chooses the best available route for each voice message:
• Nearby first: when devices are close, the app can use Bluetooth personal area networking, shared Wi‑Fi, or peer-to-peer Wi‑Fi through Apple’s nearby device networking.
• Internet direct: when both devices are online, the app can try WebRTC for a direct peer-to-peer connection across the public internet.
• Encrypted relay fallback: when direct routes are not available, Pro background receiving can use an online relay. Audio remains end-to-end encrypted, and the relay only handles encrypted voice data.

Mini Walkie Talkie is designed for quick private voice communication with friends, family, teams, and trusted contacts.

Privacy and encryption:
Each device creates its own cryptographic identity. Contact QR codes include signed public keys so both sides can verify who they are connecting with. Voice sessions use fresh session keys, authenticated encryption, and replay protection.
Your audio is encrypted before it leaves your device. Nearby devices, WebRTC peers, and the online relay only carry encrypted packets. Relay audio is temporary, limited in size and duration, and removed after the recipient receives it.

Free and Pro:
Free users can send and receive using nearby routes and direct internet routes while the app is open. Keep the app open for best free receiving reliability.
Pro unlocks reliable background receiving with encrypted relay fallback when direct routes are unavailable.
Mini Walkie Talkie is built for private, fast, route-aware voice communication — from the same room to across the Internet.
Sending a message on Apple Watch requires Pro subscription. Also, receiving on Apple Watch currently only works if app is in the foreground.
