Frustrating for anyone. Too little actual chess. My 6-year-old is disappointed because we can’t hear any music or sounds despite adjusting the settings. This app needs debugging. Maybe if people remembered that females are not precluded on auto from playing this game because they have a vagina they might 'be able to play like a man'. Please fix this huge and disappointing 'cowboy' blunder. The description says this app is for small children not little boys ONLY. Maybe you should now overcorrect and change it to 'come on princess!'... No? Which, by the way, you did not specify. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2015-03-04, version 1.0.7* My 6 year old, with some basic knowledge of chess, found the game very boring and said she didn't learn anything new. She likes Dino Chess much more and is actually learning with them. The game might be okay for 5 and under (the description says 5 and up / any age) with zero knowledge of chess. ### 1/5 — Note may not contain chess. *2015-02-22* I guess there might be chess in this game. We've played the first few levels and nothing related to chess yet. Moreover, I'm not sure what age level this game is supposed to be for since it keeps jumping back and forth between content appropriate for a 2 and 5 year old. I assume chess will come up at some point, but for a game that it marketed as teaching chess to kids, it's very weak. If I lived in Europe, I'd request my money back. **Developer response:** AirBlock, we're very sorry to see you're judging our game only for its first levels. We positioning it as a beginner game for kids, and it has to have these preparing levels. It appears the text field does not work. A Bluetooth keyboard didn’t help. The hint button does work, but we cannot advance in the game without entering four. The keyboard does not pop up. We fixed the issue. ### 3/5 — We loved this app until... *2020-04-29* This is a great app that not only teaches Chess, but important math and logic concepts, while also teaching some vocabulary. My daughter (6, started at 5) and I love it. She has learned simple arithmetic and has also begun learning multiplication. Right now, though, we’re frustrated by a glitch in the app. On the level in Antarctica where she is working on multiplication with snowballs, the app keeps freezing and not allowing her to type in the final answer (9). We’ve tried refreshing, clearing the cache, etc., but nothing works. We can’t advance in the game until we enter the number 9. Please fix this so we can keep enjoying this terrific app! **Developer response:** Hi! But we’re stuck in Antarctica at 9 snow balls as the app won’t allow us to answer the question and type in the number 9 ???? The 6 works but every time we get to type in “the number 9” the app won’t respond and won’t bring up the input field. We are using the game on iPad. Please fix ASAP! **Developer response:** Hi! There will be an update very soon that will allow you to play with iOS 11. ### 5/5 — Taught my 5 year old chess *2016-09-29* Thanks to this game, my 5 year old son is crazy about chess. The one thing I will say is that it seems that the child has to know how to read in order to use this app. So my other son who is 4 years old found it confusing and frustrating. But the way chess is broken down and explained is super fun and gives the child a vivid sense of what chess is about. **Developer response:** Thank you for your nice comment! We're happy to know that your son has fun with it :) Unfortunately, we don't see how to make it available for kids who only learn to read, but thanks for giving us this info for thinking. ### 5/5 — A lot of effort put into this game *2015-03-11, version 1.0.7* My son is 6 and has a good grasp of chess. He enjoys the game and it is teaching him quite a bit about strategy. The progression is slow and thorough. The game actually has hours of progression through every aspect of the game of chess. There is a fun reward system to keep the kids interested.
