## What is MinimalLauncher?

MinimalLauncher is a minimal launcher app that displays only app names.

There are many launcher apps available on the App Store, and most of them launch apps by tapping displayed icons.
With those launcher apps, when you register many apps, the screen quickly becomes filled with icons, and in some cases you need to scroll in order to launch apps located at the bottom.
Although the purpose of using a launcher app is to quickly launch apps, I personally found it bothersome that scrolling adds an extra step.

With this in mind, I thought it would be nice to have a launcher app that can display a large number of apps on one screen by listing only app names, and so I created MinimalLauncher.
The number varies depending on the device's screen size and the font size and spacing settings for app names, but it is possible to display around 100 apps on one screen.

*Please note that before removing the limitation via an in-app purchase, the number of apps that can be registered is limited to 10.
 After checking the usability, you can make an in-app purchase to remove the limitation and register apps without restriction.

*Please note that this app does not have a feature that automatically sets a URL scheme when you select an app.
 By using Apple's official "Shortcuts" app, you can launch apps that do not have a URL scheme or whose URL scheme is unknown.

◆Main Features
・A set of three launchers-MainLauncher, LeftLauncher, and RightLauncher-that can be switched instantly by swiping left or right.
・Freely set the color of each app name (separate colors can be set for Light Mode and Dark Mode)
・Insert line breaks or separators at arbitrary positions
・Display clipboard contents (enter "_CLIP_" as the app name)
・Set URLs using clipboard contents (enter "_ENCCLIP_" in the URL; for example, if you set the URL to "http://www.google.com/search?q=_ENCCLIP_", you can search Google using the clipboard contents)
・Change app icons
・Home widget support (there are limitations described below; please note that these apply)
・URL scheme support
　　Launch: minimallauncher://
　　Add app: minimallauncher://add/?name=[Name]&url=[URL]

*Please note that when using "_CLIP_" or "_ENCCLIP_", on iOS 16 and later, an alert related to pasting is displayed every time.
 This issue can be avoided by updating the OS to iOS 16.1 or later and changing the following settings in the Settings app.
 
 ①In the Settings app, select "MinimalLauncher" and then select "Paste from Other Apps".
 ②Change the setting to "Allow".

 *Please note that even after changing the setting to "Allow", notifications related to pasting will still be displayed. Due to iOS limitations, these notifications cannot be turned off.

◆Home Widget Limitations
・Since the home widget has a fixed size, it may not be able to display all registered apps.
　In that case, please adjust the settings by reducing the font size in the MinimalLauncher app's settings screen or by moving apps you want to prioritize toward the top.
　(If you tap the blank area of the home widget, the MinimalLauncher app itself will launch, so you can start apps that could not be displayed in the widget from there.)

・Due to iOS limitations, the home widget cannot access the clipboard.
　Therefore, it does not support the feature that displays clipboard contents using "_CLIP_".

・Due to iOS limitations, the home widget cannot directly launch each registered app.
　As a result, each registered app is launched after going through the MinimalLauncher app once.

・The launcher in the home widget is generated using a completely different mechanism from the launcher displayed in the MinimalLauncher app itself.
　Please note that, as a result, the layout, fonts, and other aspects may not be 100% identical to those of the launcher displayed in the app itself.

ウィジェット対応ありがとうございます！
OSによる制限を差し引いてもすごく嬉しいです。

(前回レビュー)
アイコンではなくテキストで登録しておき、タップすれば指定のアプリが起動します。
電子書籍の目次をイメージすれば分かりやすいかも。
スキーム対応であれば、間にショートカットもいらないし、起動後の動作もスキームで組んでおけるのでとても便利です。
iOS18以降ウィジェットに設定できなくなったので、修正アップデートを待っています。

また、iOS18でご迷惑をおかけして大変申し訳ありません。

iOS18でも使えるウィジェットに対応したい気持ちはあるのですが…
iOS17以前まで使えたウィジェット内で使用していたフレームワークが、Appleの定めた制限によりiOS18のウィジェットでは使えなくなってしまいました。

そのため、iOS18でも使えるウィジェットに対応するには非常に大規模な改修が必要になってしまい、本業の合間を縫って作っているアプリということもあり、
なかなか対応できていないという現状になってしまっています。

なんとか少しずつ作業を進めていきたいとは思いますが、相当お待たせしてしまうと思うので、
ひとまずはアプリ本体起動時に表示されるランチャーでご辛抱いただけると幸いです…

iOS18以降のホームウィジェットに対応したバージョン(1.68)を先日リリースいたしました。
非常に長く時間がかかってしまい大変申し訳ありません。
もしまだMinimalLauncherをお使いでしたら、お試しいただけたら幸いです。

なお、ホームウィジェットには以下の制限事項があります。ご留意ください。

・ホームウィジェットは大きさが固定されているので、登録されている全てのアプリを表示しきれない場合があります。
その場合はMinimalLauncherの設定画面でフォントサイズを小さくしたり、優先的に表示したいアプリを上部に移動するなどして調整してください。
(なお、ホームウィジェットの余白部分をタップするとMinimalLauncher本体が起動するので、ホームウィジェットに表示しきれなかったアプリはそこから起動することはできます)

・ホームウィジェットはOSの仕様により、クリップボードにアクセスすることができません。
そのため、_CLIP_を使ったクリップボードの内容を表示する機能には対応していません。

・ホームウィジェットはOSの仕様により、登録されている各アプリを直接起動することができません。
そのため、登録されている各アプリはMinimalLauncherの本体を一度経由してから起動します。

・ホームウィジェットでのランチャーは、MinimalLauncher本体に表示されるランチャーとは全く違う仕組みを用いて生成しています。
そのため、レイアウトやフォントなどが、本体に表示されるランチャーと100％同じにならない場合があります。

・今回の対応により、MinimalLauncher本体に表示されるランチャーのレイアウトが以前のバージョンと若干変わる場合があります。ご了承ください。

What is the use of a launcher with no widget?

Thank you very much for your review.

Strictly speaking, this app does not entirely lack widget functionality.
As you mentioned, I do not provide a “Home Widget” that can be placed on the home screen, but I do provide a “Today Widget” that can be placed in the area displayed by swiping the home screen to the right.

The Home Widget is not provided due to various limitations compared to the Today Widget.
Two of the most important reasons are the limitations in widget size and the types of frameworks that can be used.

First, regarding the widget size, I believe that the strength of this application is that it can list a large number of applications by lining up only the application names and not displaying icons.
However, I do not provide the Home Widget because I believe that its size limitation prevents it from fully demonstrating this strength.
Incidentally, the Today Widget has no size limitation.

Next, regarding the framework, the very important framework used in the Today Widget is restricted so that it cannot be used in the Home Widget.
Therefore, to provide the Home Widget, I would need to make a very large scale modification.
Since I are making this application in between my main jobs, I have not been able to take the time to make the modifications.

アプリはアイコンも込みのものだとは思いますが、数が増えるとどうしても画面がゴチャゴチャしてくるのは避けられません。色合いが似ていると、目的とは違うアプリを起動してしまうこともあります。
このランチャーはテキストで登録されるため、視認性が高く、起動に迷いません。画像よりテキストの方が理解しやすいという人には特によいと思います。
便利だったのですぐに課金しました。
要望としては、アプリを登録後、自由に位置を移動できるようにして欲しいです。
もしくは、登録する順番をこちらで指定できると有難いです。
カテゴリ別に登録していると、後から新規で追加する時に少し手間なので…。
お忙しいと思いますが、ご検討ください。

アプリの順番に関してですが、一覧画面の各アプリの右側の横棒3本の部分を押しながら上下に指を動かしていただくと順番を変更することができます。
また、一覧画面で既に登録してあるアプリを長押しするとサブメニューが表示され、長押ししたアプリの1つ上、または1つ下への新規追加ができるようになっております。
これらの機能についてはどこにも説明が書かれていないので、わかるわけがないですよね…大変申し訳ありません。
初回起動時に説明を表示するなど、対応を入れたいと思います。
