### 3/5 — Adequate

*2026-08-14, version 3.2.0*

The feature that demands facial recognition login is buggy. Right now I’m attempting to start a new sensor. Having to use a smart phone to may seem less like a good idea on paper but in tea, it sucks. I cannot start my new sensor Because a split second after opening, the MiniMed app shuts down during the facial recognition process. Question one – this is a critical life-saving application, not a bank account. You do not need facial recognition. Question two, what do you do when your phone keeps shutting down the application because I had to use the damn phone to begin with?! I know it’s fun to play with widgets and gadgets and the greatest new thing for a smart phone, but minimed? This isn’t a game. Having to use a smart phone to start a device was somebody’s very bad idea because, I can not start a new CGM.

### 4/5 — Works Very Well Happy to Have It

*2026-08-04, version 3.2.0*

After so many years with this disease I am super happy to have an app with this functionality.

In addition to an interactive chart and 24 hour sugar level summary, I especially like the watch connectivity and the online sync for my doctor.

Ideally in a future pump version we can control some of the pump functionality from the phone.

### 3/5 — Potential for Improvement

*2026-07-18, version 3.2.0*

Great with occasional bugs, I really like how it shows the size of the dynamic basal and auto correction bars based on the amount that was given as compared to the new MiniMed app, but it has potential for improvement:

1. There is a fall alert feature on the MiniMed app, which would be extremely useful for the 780G as well.

2. Being able to set the Volume, Sound, and Vibration settings based on the time of day would be extremely useful, currently I have remember to manually turn the sound off to keep it in vibrate mode during the day, and remember to turn the sound back on with maximum volume at night.

3. It would be really useful to be able to scroll back further than 24 hours, by selecting which day I’d like to view - seeing how my sugars were affected previously can be very helpful without having to generate the CareLink reports.

4. Begin able to adjust the time of how long a sensor communication must be lost for in order to get an alert would be a great feature as well, anywhere from 10-60 minutes range.

5. The Apple Watch application doesn’t always show the most recent sensor glucose, even if you open it. If it showed the last time that the value was updated as the new MiniMed app shows, it would make the Apple Watch app a lot more useful.

6. SmartGuard should be able to pull data from CareLink and be able to start much sooner than having to be in manual mode for 48+ hours - as far as I know, the data is already there, why do we have to start fresh if the data is current?

7. It would be really nice to be able to see my sensor glucose along with the trend arrow as a live activity.

8. Having to use the app to start the Instinct sensor is a downside - in my opinion, a huge benefit of the 780G is that you don’t have to rely on your phone.

9. It would be nice if it wasn’t a requirement to be signed in to CareLink to use the app.

### 3/5 — App releases unfinished features

*2026-06-22, version 3.2.0*

This mobile app has its ups and downs. One minute they release great features like Apple Watch and widget support. Then they go and add an unfinished Reports feature in the CareLink menu. You get excited, tap the button, and then get slapped with a coming soon message. I mean, who does that! Just hide the button until it’s ready. Thankfully, they vastly improved the performance of the Apple Watch widgets.

In short, the app works well, but it makes you wonder why this app doesn't support more mobile features like Tandem or Abbott.

### 4/5 — App down!!

*2026-06-10, version 3.2.0*

My app has been down all morning

### 3/5 — Battery drain

*2026-05-16, version 3.2.0*

I am not sure why but over the last couple weeks the app is draining the battery on my iPhone 14 Pro. Over the last week it has been the top battery usage item. I have not had issues before and am providing the review to hopefully inform someone at Medtronic and see if others have the same issue. Other than that the app works as intended.

### 1/5 — FIX YOUR APP

*2026-04-26, version 3.1.4*

Unable to connect to my pump and based off other reviews seems like it’s a common problem, this needs to be fixed as it’s important medical equipment

### 1/5 — Connectivity Issues

*2026-04-16, version 3.1.4*

After having the app for a bout a year or two, it just randomly stopped connecting to my pump. I’ve reinstalled it at least ten times, updated the app and reinstalled it and no changes at all. So disappointed and a major inconvenience.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2026-04-15, version 3.1.4*

I just need to know why I see everything the update supposed to do but crash each time you try to open will not connect to watch or phone or maybe want even open and close on its own. Then I seen another review wanting us the user to call a 1800 number and thinking why should I when I can just change The Who pump system

### 1/5 — New Version No Longer Pairs

*2026-04-13, version 3.1.4*

I updated to this version because the app message said to update as soon as possible to fix “connectivity issues”. Big mistake!

This newest update is no longer able to pair my pump with my iPhone. It broke the pairing connectivity, as I cannot get past the app pairing screen.

Before today, the iPhone app was working fine as a secondary display.

Checking the web app does show that before today it’s only known problem was not uploading caresync data since 4/9/26.

### 1/5 — Terrible.

*2026-04-13, version 3.1.4*

Awful app. After many struggles to get it connected, my phone has been connected to my pump for at least the last six months and suddenly, I keep getting alerts that it is not compatible after I just placed a brand new sensor on. So I have just wasted a sensor for absolutely no reason because this app is total garbage.

### 1/5 — Updates

*2026-04-13, version 3.1.4*

Every time you update my pump doesn’t work Every time you update every stinking time and I can’t get my pump back on line

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-04-13, version 3.1.4*

I had downloaded the app and connected a couple of family members so they could follow along as well. This app loses the signal and is disconnected more times than not. Very disappointing and useless.

### 2/5 — Improved?

*2026-04-12, version 3.1.4*

Have to wait and see? - switching from Medtronic to minimed ownership - let’s hope we get real value for what this pump system costs each of us! Having connectivity issues is a big fail. Time to pull your socks up minimed.

### 1/5 — Worse

*2026-04-12, version 3.1.3*

After moving to the libre sensors it always looses connection, and now the app won’t connect to internet when I have an internet connection, well at least we will never get a cure because of them

### 2/5 — Worst

*2026-04-12, version 3.1.3*

Medtronic MiniMed is horrible one day everything is running smooth, then the next day it will not connect to my pump , reason why I’m being told ,it’s because of software up dates, same can be said about pump connection to Accu-Chek guide link .

### 3/5 — App failure

*2026-04-12, version 3.1.3*

The app has been saying internet connection when I been on WiFi and 5G and it still hasn’t works in a few days

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Junk

*2026-07-08, version 3.2.0*

Always loses connection never stays paired up very frustrating

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2026-06-30, version 3.2.0*

App doesn’t work on iPhone 17 pro max. Always crashes

### 1/5 — Medtronic

*2026-06-28, version 3.2.0*

Medtronic has really disappointed again

### 1/5 — Leaving Medtronic

*2026-06-09, version 3.2.0*

Having a mandatory app that doesn’t even work or connect appropriately is absolutely insane

### 1/5 — My Health will suffer from your technical failures.

*2026-05-18, version 3.2.0*

It is incredible—unbelievable—how much money Medtronics makes to have a system prone to so many issues.

I’m currently attempting to open the app and it continually crashes—won’t open at all, just a blue Medtronic loading screen until it returns to my Home Screen. Checked for updates, restarted my phone, will be spending a large chunk of my limited free time now on the phone with 24-hour helpline, and will hear minuets worth of legal jargon to protect themselves before they will attempt to help me fix the problem.

I am 1 hour away from needing to start a new Instinct sensor. The app is not functioning after several minutes of trouble shooting.

This app is absolutely essential in order to use the instinct sensors. I can’t see my numbers. I don’t have an entire back-up sensor system. So at BEST I’m now back in 20 years to getting one number every time I stick my finger. Hoping I’m gauging the trends right, and hoping I have a good enough supply of test strips until… the issue is resolved? Until I have a chance to sit on the phone for a half hour? Until Medtronics starts to care as much about customer health as they do money.

This is absolutely unacceptable, and truly a shame. There must be some kind of system in place with zero-failure to connect new instinct sensors to the insulin pump.

### 1/5 — Impossible wait times and unreliable app

*2026-05-17, version 3.2.0*

My pump stopped connecting to my phone. The directions on how to reconnect aren’t working on my phone. I called the help desk yesterday and waited on the phone for over 5 hours and still no contact. I finally hung up to go to bed. I have had Minimed pumps for 22 years and have loved the help desk. But now I can’t even get in, let alone talk to someone. Did they fire all those amazing people?

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-05-08, version 3.1.4*

It won’t let me open the app

### 1/5 — Can’t connect to anything

*2026-05-08, version 3.1.4*

Currently having the worst headache ever. I can’t connect to my pump or any CGM(Instinct or Medtronic ). I can’t get through to customer support. Average wait is at least an hour. I have no cams working. Back to sticking my fingers! UGH

### 1/5 — Terrible update

*2026-05-01, version 3.1.4*

This update is worse than before. I’ve unpaired, paired, cleared Bluetooth cache, re-paired Bluetooth, turned phone off, restarted phone, uninstalled app, everything. It will pair for a few hours then back to square one.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2026-04-26, version 3.1.4*

Crashes upon opening app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Add to widget

*2026-05-13, version 3.2.0*

I cant add the glucose record to the widget screen , the app is great 🌹

### 5/5 — MiniMed Mobile & the Future

*2026-04-13, version 3.1.4*

I’ve used the MiniMed Mobile US phone app and watch app since they became available. I especially appreciate daily auto upload to CareLink. Looking forward to MiniMed Flex. Don’t hold us in suspense! When does it hit the shelves?

### 5/5 — Works fine

*2026-04-13, version 3.1.4*

Wish they would add a CarPlay widget. Would be nice to see sugars while driving instead of fumbling with the phone or pump.

### 5/5 — Great app but with some wishes

*2025-12-22, version 3.1.1*

Great app and super helpful to me. I wish I could do at least two things, however:
1. Silence alarms on the pump from the app.
2. Notate the times, eg exercise, when I ate, what I ate, etc.

### 5/5 — A great product

*2025-03-19, version 2.8.0*

My my Diabetes has been out of control for quite some time since I’ve gotten this installed on my phone. I am able to manage my Diabeties a lot better and it’s making things better living with diabetes.

### 5/5 — Widget on iPhone no longer available

*2025-02-05, version 2.8.0*

Update: it works now

Since this last update the widget is gone when I swipe right on my iPhone. Can no longer see bg numbers on Apple Watch.

### 5/5 — Now works with iPhone 16

*2024-12-28, version 2.7.0*

Nice. Thank you

### 5/5 — iPhone 16 Pro Max

*2024-10-26*

The app is not working with the iPhone 16 Pro Max iOS 18
*******UPDATE*****
I contacted Medtronic tech support. Issue resolved. I had to delete the minimed US app from my phone, disconnect the old Bluetooth pump connection on my phone and turn the Bluetooth on and off; make sure the old connection didn’t show in the pump’s settings. Then I re-downloaded the minimed US app and reconnected my pump to my
Phone. No issues now. Works perefectly.

**Developer response:** We're sorry you're having trouble. Our 24-Hour Technical Support team would like to help. Please give them a call at your convenience at 800.646.4633, option 1.

### 5/5 — It just works!

*2024-10-17, version 2.7.0*

I like that I can see all
My information so easily and help me manage my diabetes.

### 5/5 — Life Changer!

*2024-10-17*

The Minimed mobile app has performed wonderfully with my iPhone and iwatch. So convenient for viewing blood sugar readings! Along with the 780 Medtronic pump my A1C levels have never been higher than a 6.2 over the last year! So grateful and thankful to all the brilliant employees of Medtronic! You have brought peace of mind and stability to my diabetes management!😋
