Lots of repetitive time trials and speed courses that are frustrating and not fun. So glad to see it here. I definitely recommend! It’s challenging but not frustrating. Definitely a butt pucker with certain boss fights lol but it’s really not a punishing game. The pacing between finding power ups and getting upgrades is perfect for keeping the dopamine going. It’s hard to put this game down. Glad that the developers are continuing to fix bugs with this game. A bug I found recently was that once I reached half HP, I stopped taking damage at all. I didn’t have ‘invincibility’ selected in the options. But, there were lots of little things that killed my experience as a death by a thousand cuts. A few examples: - Some secrets are mandatory; I spent a couple hours trying to advance only to find out that a button I needed for progression was hidden under a rock - No healing. If you die, there’s no penalty, you just return to base. But returning to base doesn’t heal you, to get back to full health you usually just have to suicide - Bosses have about 7 stages. Each stage is pretty short, but it can get tedious to learn ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not Optimized for Mobile *2026-06-20* The touch controls are very clumsy, and this game is all about being able to finely control your ship. If you don’t have a controller, don’t try this game. Also, on iPad Pro, the sides of the screen are cropped off, meaning your ship is offscreen much of the time, and doors/enemies at the edge of the screen can’t be seen. The button to boost and jump over gaps almost never works twice in a row. You have to hit the button exactly it feels like if you are a pixel off you don’t dash at all and fall into the gap. It’s very fun, about to start again. Like snes Zelda’s. Only issue devs, is that the mini map doesn’t work correctly, the ship location isn’t accurate. Upping my review to 5 stars. It’s so great! I’m about to 100% it. Get an Mcon or another controller and play this immediately! Update: getting towards the end of the game and the buttons are getting really hard to see beyond. When the screen is full of enemies, it’s really hard to see beyond all the buttons for the various powers. Original: This game is great, but when I have a Bluetooth controller connected, menus still often require touch controls and the touch controls remain on screen even while I’m using my controller which is more than a little annoying. I have been playing it on steam (Mac) and when I found out that it came for iOS, I immediately bought it again. I use a telescopic controller to play it on iPhone. However, the experience could be much better if the on-screen buttons disappear as they're not needed when using a controller. They obstruct the view and take away from the immersion.
