### 4/5 — good

*2026-06-29, version 3.9.9*

its convenience

### 2/5 — Cluttered app

*2025-12-06, version 3.9.7*

Would be better if the app was less cluttered and stick to its key function of notifications

### 1/5 — You Get What You Ask For

*2025-07-18, version 3.9.4*

Lol. Force users to download the app? This is what you get. I downloaded your worthless app, gave you a rating that is already too merciful for your rubbish app, and will not give you a grain of personal information 😓 The app works like any pile of useless scams, website even worse 👎 I do not want to see this load of rubbish anywhere else.

### 1/5 — 辣鸡app

*2025-07-13, version 3.9.3*

纯盗信息app。看个排队位置还要下载app还要奶奶滴注册用户。真的蠢到家了。希望再也没商家用这b玩意

### 1/5 — Unwanted app download!!

*2025-06-16, version 3.9.1*

Having to download an app just for a waitlist is absurd and a waste of my phone memory. Besides I don’t have an iPhone!!!!

### 1/5 — ?? Pay wall for wait time?

*2025-05-26, version 3.9.0*

Why would you add a paywall to check for wait times?? I’m not upgrading an app that I’ll barely use.

### 1/5 — Disrespectful

*2025-05-24, version 3.9.0*

There are plenty of services that offer information like this for free but instead they want to sell your data and make you pay to see your estimated wait time.

### 1/5 — I just want to see my place in line

*2025-05-24, version 3.9.0*

Not being redirected around and having to log in. And there’s ai assisted lining up for $5? Horrible

### 1/5 — SMS friend invite is buggy

*2025-04-26, version 3.8.1*

BUG. if a friend shares a table/reservation with you, it keeps saying “wrong verification code” and won’t let us join our friends table. I tried 6x on multiple devices and multiple numbers and did human verification.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-04-18, version 3.8.1*

Only works with restaurants that uses minipass and you have to pay to see estimated wait time and any other option.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2025-04-13, version 3.8.1*

Was directed by a restaurant message to download the app. But app did not show this restaurant when searched. Trash. Don’t waste time downloading

### 1/5 — This app should not exist

*2025-02-22, version 3.6.2*

This app should not exist. Restaurants use it to queue reservations. A single webpage is sufficient for this. Downloading an app and creating an account so that you can see your place in line is completely unnecessary.

### 1/5 — 垃圾app 强制下载

*2025-02-18, version 3.6.2*

有多少人是吃海底捞排位然后被迫下载的？

### 1/5 — Dark Pattern

*2025-02-15, version 3.6.2*

I should not have to create an account to see my spot in line at my local chinese restaurant….

### 1/5 — app always broken

*2025-02-09, version 3.6.2*

yeah this might be the worst waiting list app in existence

### 1/5 — Checking waitlist? Download and share personal info!

*2025-01-11, version 3.6.2*

Wanted to check my place on the waitlist. Instead of linking me to a browser, I had to download an app. Done? No. Needed to create an account. I stopped and read reviews - not verifying and sharing personal info too quickly check a waitlist…

### 1/5 — Useless

*2024-12-28, version 3.6.2*

Can’t even get passed the verification stage so I can set up my account. To many steps just to check my waitlist. App is unrefined.

### 4/5 — Location search results (null)

*2024-12-04, version 3.6.1*

Limited use so far. Immediately confused by the lack of search results on the explore page when searching by “use current location” because nothing showed up. I had to select “all locations” to see places near me.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — 没有中文

*2026-01-10, version 3.9.8*

没有中文

### 1/5 — Sucks

*2025-12-27, version 3.9.8*

An app to make things more complicated than they have to be. Great job creating a new headache.

### 1/5 — Kept charging me despite in-app cancellation

*2025-12-23, version 3.9.8*

I canceled the app subscription in-app, but kept on being charged via Apple subscriptions. I had to cancel the subscription via Apple’s subscriptions page as well. The in-app page would show that my subscription is invalid even though my Apple account was still being charged weekly.

### 1/5 — I hope this company fails

*2025-10-01, version 3.9.5*

I just wanted to see the place in line from the web site and they put a giant pop up blocking the screen to get you to download the app every time then try to get you to make a login plus they try to get you to share your location, probably so they can monetize the data by selling it to data brokers at the expense of user privacy

Is this really necessary for an app like this?

I plan to avoid all restaurants that use this app in protest, starting with Sugarfish.

If you’re a restaurant using this platform please consider switching to another company. If you’re a VC or venture debt firm, I hope you see this review and consider not investing, or if you do invest, please cause management to be replaced.

I will return to visiting the restaurants (and booking frequent large parties for my company at those restaurants) if they switch platforms or if minitable changes this practice plus fires the product manager responsible, and promises to give negative references about this PM to future employers

Update: The developer noted in its reply that the place in line can still be seen from the web. However, when you go to the website there is a giant popup covering the screen, requiring you to hit “continue on web” which blocks the information.

If it were to do this on just the first time visiting the site that would be one thing but when you refresh the site to see if your place in line moved (which is a common user behavior), the pop up returns every single time, requiring you to click “continue on web” over and over.

Either have the pop up show only one time, or make the popup smaller so I can still see my place in line without downloading the app or continually exiting out of a popup.

Be honest, don’t give me this ai-crafted corporate fake-polite slop response. This UI was done intentionally to drive user signups at the expense of user experience. Everybody with a brain can see that immediately when they use the service. I’m guessing it’s so Minitable can show a user signup chart that’s up and to the right to investors to trick them - despite likely low engagement per signup (most people likely just sign up to avoid the poor UI of the web version).

**Developer response:** Hi Thom Yorke's Lazy Eye,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry for the frustration caused. We’d like to clarify that you can always view your place in line directly on the web without downloading the app — just choose “Continue on Web” at the bottom of the prompt. The app is optional and only provides extra features like real-time reminders.

We’re committed to making the experience simple and transparent, and your feedback helps us improve.

### 1/5 — Scam advertisers

*2025-09-20*

Terrible app where they try to steal as much data as possible. Worst app!!

### 1/5 — Disgraceful Dark Pattern

*2025-08-16, version 3.9.4*

I signed up for a waitlist at a restaurant and was texted a link to “check status”. In the past, this link took you to a page on the Minitable website, where you could view your place in line.

However, you are now just given a link that leads to their app listing, trying to force you to install their app and sign up for an account.

This is incredibly misleading and dishonest behaviour. They specifically worsened the user experience in order to push app downloads and signups. Why take away the webpage, instead of just offering both options? Giving 1 star only because I can’t give 0.

### 1/5 — forced to download this

*2025-08-12, version 3.9.4*

Why is there no web app? I don’t want to download an app for a one off restaurant waitlist.

### 1/5 — Don’t want an app for waitlist

*2025-08-06, version 3.9.4*

Waitlists should just be simple websites, having to download an app just to check this is really annoying

### 1/5 — Junk App with In App Purchases

*2025-07-25, version 3.9.4*

I got in waitlist at Haidilao and got a message saying I can track my spot with a link. Link got me to this app and I downloaded it, trusting that the restaurant picked it to improve customer experience. Once I downloaded it, it won’t let me view my spot in line and even tried to sell me a monthly membership to be able to do that. It’s crazy!!! Why do I need to pay for this service and not the restaurant? This is ridiculous and I can’t imagine real customers actually giving this app a 5 star for what it’s worth.
