It might be a problem with the app that we're using to set minivan up, but the set up is complicated. It uses industry speak so it is not intuitive. Anytime we discover a problem after we've started canvassing and we try to reset it, it resets everything. It would be nice if this was all in one app rather than using two apps that play off of each other ### 3/5 — Notes not accessible to others *2026-06-09, version 9.4.2* My co-PCP and I have found that when one enters info in "notes" that the other is unable to see them, despite syncing and checking back later. ### 3/5 — Could use some export options *2026-06-05, version 9.4.2* It works well out in the field. It would be great to have options to export the list of houses so that I can print them out for the person driving me. I have to do screen captures, which is time consuming… ### 2/5 — Very frustrating at times *2026-03-14* This app is good is some ways, incredibly frustrating in others. I supposedly had a list that was supposed to always show me the people closest by based on my current location. Apparently that doesn’t work… at first it was fine, but as I moved away from my canvassing location, I redownloaded the list to continue down the road and instead it gave me people far away from me! Every time I redownloaded the list after that, the houses got further and further away with no way to go back to any of the previously houses. All in all, I only canvassed a small handful of houses and talked with only two people. What a frustrating and unproductive day, all because of this silly little app not working as intended. Ugh! ### 3/5 — Needs Improvement *2026-02-08, version 9.3.0* While I was able to figure out some of the basics. This could be a lot better setup for power users and beginners. Why does it not save notes so that others can read? There should be better training for campaigns and volunteers. There should also be smart parameters. I kept having app crash when pulling up turf. ### 3/5 — 9.2.13 update is a step backwards *2025-08-17* Newest update described as being small bug fixes actually included updating the icons in-app of homes on a given list as well as adding another step to click through when selecting residents under a home. The new symbology is dated and reeks of mid-2000s design language, genuinely unappealing to look at. Perhaps a setting where users can manage their own symbology would be a good future update: leave the design to the user. The added step in between picking a house and picking its residents is unnecessary and slows down the process. App is still fine but these choices knock it down a peg ### 3/5 — Where’s the basic Help? *2025-05-21, version 9.2.12* App may be good but trying to change email linked to account and keeps telling me my new password is invalid - but without any way of finding out why! Where are the protocols for the password? Have no idea what it doesn’t like about nomine, which contains a capital, a number and a special symbol. ### 3/5 — Great idea needs work *2025-04-01* I used this for the first time in 2024 although I understand it dates back about 15 years. I found the app intuitive. However, I did notice that I was making mistakes. For example, some of the script didn’t appear on the screen (importantly “do you need a ride to the polls” and I didn’t know I needed to scroll down to find more questions. My suggestion is that the developers add the capability of adding two or three practices with instant feedback on whether anything was missed by the canvasser such as tailored questions. Even experienced canvassers should benefit ### 4/5 — Great but please help turn off dark mode *2024-11-11, version 9.2.10* This is great, syncs well. Mostly easy to use. Better than paper!! Please tell me how to turn off dark mode. ### 3/5 — User interface is pretty bad. *2024-10-23* I don’t doubt that this app is fine for the canvassing organizations who choose to use it for their employees, but it is not good for the end users. It provides the bare minimum in terms of functionality (i.e. doesn’t offer routing options which could save a lot of time), but worse than that, it regularly zooms all the way out and resets the orientation when trying to zoom/scroll around the map to determine the best route on ones own. This is infuriating. ### 2/5 — Major privacy violations *2024-09-30, version 9.2.9* What I despise about using this app is being required to provide full access to my data. I give no apps full access but this app requires that the user give full access for full functionality. As soon as my gig is done I will be deleting it. ### 3/5 — map needs work *2024-09-28, version 9.2.9* 1) Please fix: On iOS when you want to pan or shift the map, it zooms back to several hundred miles out 2) Drained my newish phone battery fast: iphone 14 on iOS 17.6.1 from 95% to 40% in about 3hrs ### 4/5 — So Close *2024-08-10* This is really helpful for getting info updated in the field quickly. One note is that when a user chooses “Next HH” the option should filter to the next CLOSEST household. If there is a way to sort geographically instead of alphabetically, it’s tough to find but would be really helpful, especially for new canvassing volunteers who may be unfamiliar with their area. ### 2/5 — Synced Data Not Showing the Next Day *2024-06-22* There are some lists I have worked on over more than one day (weather, time constraints, etc.). I sync and save my progress after each attempt to be sure. The next time I return to the list to finish it, the previous data is not showing on the map or in the progress section. It’s as if it’s a brand new list and I have done nothing. I have made my own method of tracking by taking screen shots and taking anecdotal notes, but this is time consuming and frustrating. I want to be sure my progress is being tracked correctly. ### 4/5 — Not good for lit drop *2023-10-25, version 9.2.2* The swipe left option to show that someone wasn’t home, or I just lit dropped works sporadically. It wants me to record voters’ answers to questions which I can’t ask if I only lit dropped. Otherwise, it works and is convenient. ### 2/5 — Data is gone *2023-10-18* There is a serious flaw with this app. Once we switch lists, all the old data is GONE from the app so that we have no idea which areas have already been canvassed. This app has the potential to be a great tool! Please fix this issue. Been canvassing since July and have had to switch to a paper map to try to keep track and not repeat areas. I used this app in 2016 and in 2018. It was never this bad. I think it’s no coincidence it became privately owned in 2021. There are foxes in the henhouse! Or prove me wrong and make this app not suck. ### 1/5 — Stuck in two factor authentication prompt *2025-09-10, version 9.2.13* I do not have an entry for this app in my authenticator app and no way to reset it ### 1/5 — Update requires extra clicks *2025-08-17, version 9.2.13* Why did you design the update this way? This app was sending me from street to street instead of having me go to the next closest house. It would literally send me to a house that was a three minute drive away and then I’d have to loop around and go back to a house that was next-door to a house I previously was at. It’s incredibly bad, almost like it’s trying to be as difficult as possible for the user. Is it possible to have a map feature that will plot out all the places you need to go? at least this would let the person chart their own course when canvassing in an area they’re not familiar with. Honestly, I think this feature is so bad, you should strongly consider getting rid of it until you can fix it. Not sure how this past QA. ### 1/5 — Cannot set a password *2024-10-26, version 9.2.10* The original pw would ‘t work and the reset page has a confirmAtion box that can’t match (and doesn’t show both password entries to help see if it is a Typo or not. ### 1/5 — Terrible. Lost half of my data *2024-10-16, version 9.2.10* This is a terrible app and database. DO NOT USE!! My canvassing data was completely lost for over half of the turfs that canvassed. Good thing I’m running a small campaign and I have recollection of where I’ve walked already. It would seriously be catastrophic for a larger campaign. minivan and Votbuilder are awful!!! Stay away!! ### 1/5 — Rarely do I not swear at this app *2023-09-07* 1) would like to see all other voters in the household - often I don’t talk to the individual on my list but someone else and it would be helpful to add notes / survey responses for that individual. 2) every time I lock my phone (usually to talk to a voter), the app quits and I have to rebrowse to the individual. 3) want to be able to switch between multiple lists. I often get 2-3 lists from my campaign coordinator and they are all near each other. If I could load all three, I can chart a more efficient route. 4) speaking of routes, the “next door” feature is useless. It rarely displays in the proper order and it doesn’t take my “Not contacted” filter into account. 5) why do I have to reacknowledge the same prompts on every list. I know about canvassing safely. I know about lit drops. I know all this - please let me disable it in settings. Or have it tied to my profile so it is acknowledged once. Being able to see all the houses you’re going to along with your own location is so much easier than trying to follow a paper list of addresses (which I’d end up finding on my phone’s map anyway!) My only complaints are that results imputed from paper packets don’t appear on the app, and that sometimes the gps will show the icon for the address at a completely different location from where it actually is (I was walking “park ave.” and it showed some of the houses as being across the city on “park st.” and I didn’t realize the mistake until I had already driven across the city to get the rogue houses -_-).
