Perhaps it is the only one? I can’t find another. However, the time since last update is showing itself some. The download feature for the pro version I can no longer get to work on a recent Apple Watch (series 10, WatchOS 26), when it used to work as recently as the Watch 9 and the previous WatchOS version. Also, article lookups never got the watch keyboard added. Your choices for entering your search terms are voice, draw characters, or type from your phone. If I am only on my watch, I would really like to be able to use the watch keyboard to enter search terms. Those are the two glaring issues that knock this down a star, but there are some other nice to haves I’d be interested in, like bulk downloading certain types of articles like Kiwix, or in-article hyperlinks. ### 4/5 — Restore purchasing doesnt work *2025-09-06* Hey please check Restore purchasing, it doesn’t work, I purshased once I don’t want to purchase again. MiniWiki is exactly what someone would want to use to read Wikipedia on Apple Watch. All I have is two suggestions for this app: 1. Outline/Navigation: All Wikipedia articles are organized into headers, and it can be confusing to find where you are when the screen of a watch is small and the article has a lot of text to scroll through. 2. Internal links: part of the key Wikipedia experience for me is being able to click a link on one article and navigate to another. But in MiniWiki, all hyperlinks between pages are disabled. Why? Even if it’s a setting, I would love being able to navigate around pages. But.... minor tweaks *2021-02-09* I got an Apple Watch and I was looking for a good web browser/reference that type, but I couldn’t find any so my next option was to look for a Wikipedia type thing of course I ended up with this mini wiki I thought it might be in the trash like all the other watch apps but it’s really great and has a very high-quality UI, it’s easily updated and singing and high-quality information at short notice. It’s really great and I seriously recommend it. But there is room for improvement. When I click the blue arrow at the top, it sometimes doesn’t work. And when new results pop up, that ping sound isn’t really necessary, and it really disturbs people around me. Of course, I could just go into silent mode, but I want hear alerts coming. Maybe an option to turn it off? This “donation” last for a period of time before reactivating forcing another “donation” to use it. There is nothing in the description. Indicating a required subscription (donation) to use the application. This is misleading to individuals thinking if they “donate” they will have unlimited use of this application. Furthermore, I don’t know how this doesn’t violate Apples policies entitling them to a percentage of in app purchases. It’s just a bunch of long onboarding screens that lead to no where and have no point. This app literally does nothing. Plus, the app never installed on my watch anyway. The 5 star rating was either given by the developer’s family or a bunch of paid reviewers. **Developer response:** Hey Mandronicus, You've unfortunately stumbled upon an Apple bug, simply restart both your devices and you'll be able to install it to your Apple Watch. Thanks, Will ### 2/5 — The best, but could be better *2023-08-22* I've tried most of the Wikipedia apps for Apple Watch, and MiniWiki is the best one: it displays the full article contents (rather than a summary), supports searching, nearby articles, bookmarking, etc, all in a decent UI. However, there are some annoying faults: - The app does not use the full size of the Apple Watch screen (I use AW 8 41mm). There is a ~2mm margin all around the outside of the screen. This means less text is visible on the screen, and the “← Back” button is not in the extreme top-left corner as it is with other Apple Watch apps and requires tapping slighly towards the center of the screen to go back (which requires tapping a few times to hit). - The search function lacks keyboard input on the Apple Watch (it allows input via iPhone keyboard, Scribble, or Dictation). (I guess this app was created before the native Apple Watch keyboard was released with build-in swipe and dictation.) - There are a few minor UI glitches, such as on the search screen there are three blue round buttons, but their tops are cut off so they're almost half circles. On some screens with both a “Cancel” and a “Done” button, the Done button is a different font size or is not right-aligned with the right side of the screen, instead is cut-off. - The Wikitext of article content is not rendered fully: headings retain the “== Header ==” markings, and links are not clickable. - The iOS companion app has almost zero functionality: you can't search or read Wikipedia articles there, adjust settings, or manage bookmarks. I think the only purpose is to assist in purchasing Pro MiniWiki, links to contact the developer, and to view bookmarks (tapping one opens the Wikipedia article in Safari; you can't add or edit bookmarks here). Sehr gut nutzbar auf der Watch, zumal die Spracheingabe bei Apple inzwischen sehr präzise ist. Tastatur- oder Scribble-Eingaben sind natürlich auch möglich, aber erfordert filigrane Akrobatik und feinmotorisches Fingerspitzengefühl. Die Darstellung samt Gliederung ist dem kleinen Display angemessen, manche Bilder werden ebenfalls angezeigt. In der Pro-Version kommen die Funktionen Bookmarks, Downloads (zum Lesen offline) und „Handoff“-Unterstützung (Weiterlesen auf dem iPhone) hinzu.
