### 4/5 — please add watch keyboard support

*2026-02-23, version 1.1.2*

still the best watch wiki app but please update to the latest SDK so we can use the on watch qwerty keyboard

### 4/5 — The Only Watch wiki app, some features broke though

*2025-11-19*

This continues to be the best Wikipedia app for the Apple Watch, despite being 5 years since the last update. Perhaps it is the only one? I can’t find another.
However, the time since last update is showing itself some. The download feature for the pro version I can no longer get to work on a recent Apple Watch (series 10, WatchOS 26), when it used to work as recently as the Watch 9 and the previous WatchOS version.

Also, article lookups never got the watch keyboard added. Your choices for entering your search terms are voice, draw characters, or type from your phone. If I am only on my watch, I would really like to be able to use the watch keyboard to enter search terms.

Those are the two glaring issues that knock this down a star, but there are some other nice to haves I’d be interested in, like bulk downloading certain types of articles like Kiwix, or in-article hyperlinks.

### 4/5 — Restore purchasing doesnt work

*2025-09-06*

Hey please check Restore purchasing, it doesn’t work, I purshased once I don’t want to purchase again. Also, articles somehow always being not finished on my watch (u2). Otherwise, thanks

### 4/5 — Two things — internal links and navigation

*2025-01-10*

This is a great app! MiniWiki is exactly what someone would want to use to read Wikipedia on Apple Watch. All I have is two suggestions for this app:

1. Outline/Navigation: All Wikipedia articles are organized into headers, and it can be confusing to find where you are when the screen of a watch is small and the article has a lot of text to scroll through.

2. Internal links: part of the key Wikipedia experience for me is being able to click a link on one article and navigate to another. But in MiniWiki, all hyperlinks between pages are disabled. Why? Even if it’s a setting, I would love being able to navigate around pages.

That’s all for my App Store review!

### 3/5 — Trop court

*2023-06-17*

### 4/5 — Bien

*2021-07-26*

Bien

### 5/5 — Great and epic! But.... minor tweaks

*2021-02-09*

I got an Apple Watch and I was looking for a good web browser/reference that type, but I couldn’t find any so my next option was to look for a Wikipedia type thing of course I ended up with this mini wiki I thought it might be in the trash like all the other watch apps but it’s really great and has a very high-quality UI, it’s easily updated and singing and high-quality information at short notice. It’s really great and I seriously recommend it. But there is room for improvement. When I click the blue arrow at the top, it sometimes doesn’t work. And when new results pop up, that ping sound isn’t really necessary, and it really disturbs people around me. Of course, I could just go into silent mode, but I want hear alerts coming. Maybe an option to turn it off? But other than that, epic app and it is a must have for new Apple Watch users.

### 5/5 — VERY COOL

*2020-10-29, version 1.1.2*

Highly recommended you can get so many articles that are so long and it’s so cool

### 5/5 — Review

*2020-09-03, version 1.1.2*

Awesome app

### 5/5 — Fun app!

*2020-08-31, version 1.1.2*

Loving the idea that you can do quick Wikipedia searches from an Apple Watch!

### 5/5 — Good but

*2020-08-24*

I purchased MiniWiki pro for 2.79$ and It says that I don’t have MiniWiki pro downloaded on my phone?? So I’d like if I could either get my money back or get MiniWiki pro on my phone and watch

### 3/5 — Très intéressante, dommage...

*2020-07-08*

### 5/5 — Yes

*2020-05-17, version 1.1.2*

Good

### 5/5 — Madison Havens

*2020-05-04, version 1.1.2*

I love this app I read in it all the time

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Ernsthaft?

*2023-10-18*

Bekloppt.

### 1/5 — Beware!

*2021-02-21, version 1.1.2*

This app makes you pay a “donation” to use it. This “donation” last for a period of time before reactivating forcing another “donation” to use it.
There is nothing in the description. Indicating a required subscription (donation) to use the application. This is misleading to individuals thinking if they “donate” they will have unlimited use of this application.
Furthermore, I don’t know how this doesn’t violate Apples policies entitling them to a percentage of in app purchases.
   Smells like a Scam....Scam...Scam

### 1/5 — Fundamentally flawed

*2020-08-26, version 1.1.2*

Search only brings up limited results, to the point where it is unusable.

A novelty app or proof of concept app at best.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2020-06-08, version 1.1.2*

The app does not load

### 1/5 — Nur englisch

*2020-04-24*

Habe gerade erst deutsch gelernt!
Schade

### 1/5 — 🤔

*2020-02-08*

Confusing to load. There should be an intro screen that declares concisely that there is no usable interface on the iPhone, only the Watch.

Furthermore I paid for the extra features but they don’t work. I touch and hold an article and two options appear: “Bookmark” and “Download”. I tried both options on a few different articles yet my Bookmarks and Downloads show nothing.

### 1/5 — Sehe keinen Nutzen

*2019-03-01*

Funktioniert irgendwie gar nicht. Artikel werden nicht angezeigt, Downloads auch nicht.

**Developer response:** Could you email me miniwikI@willbish.com? I'd love to get this sorted!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2019-03-01*

Other than the fact that no one would ever want to sit and read a bunch of articles on their watch, this app is useless. It’s just a bunch of long onboarding screens that lead to no where and have no point. This app literally does nothing. Plus, the app never installed on my watch anyway. The 5 star rating was either given by the developer’s family or a bunch of paid reviewers.

**Developer response:** Hey Mandronicus,

You've unfortunately stumbled upon an Apple bug, simply restart both your devices and you'll be able to install it to your Apple Watch.

That'll fix your issue, hope you can adjust your review once you get it working.

If you have any other questions, please email me at miniwiki@willbish.com.

Thanks,

Will

### 2/5 — The best, but could be better

*2023-08-22*

I've tried most of the Wikipedia apps for Apple Watch, and MiniWiki is the best one: it displays the full article contents (rather than a summary), supports searching, nearby articles, bookmarking, etc, all in a decent UI. However, there are some annoying faults:

- The app does not use the full size of the Apple Watch screen (I use AW 8 41mm). There is a ~2mm margin all around the outside of the screen. This means less text is visible on the screen, and the “← Back” button is not in the extreme top-left corner as it is with other Apple Watch apps and requires tapping slighly towards the center of the screen to go back (which requires tapping a few times to hit).

- The search function lacks keyboard input on the Apple Watch (it allows input via iPhone keyboard, Scribble, or Dictation). (I guess this app was created before the native Apple Watch keyboard was released with build-in swipe and dictation.)

- There are a few minor UI glitches, such as on the search screen there are three blue round buttons, but their tops are cut off so they're almost half circles. On some screens with both a “Cancel” and a “Done” button, the Done button is a different font size or is not right-aligned with the right side of the screen, instead is cut-off.

- The Wikitext of article content is not rendered fully: headings retain the “== Header ==” markings, and links are not clickable.

- The iOS companion app has almost zero functionality: you can't search or read Wikipedia articles there, adjust settings, or manage bookmarks. I think the only purpose is to assist in purchasing Pro MiniWiki, links to contact the developer, and to view bookmarks (tapping one opens the Wikipedia article in Safari; you can't add or edit bookmarks here). The iPhone app UI is confusing: if looks like a tutorial that I expect to be able to dismiss to be able to access the real app.

- The developer has not provided privacy details, so we don't know how they are using our data.

### 2/5 — Making me write this review??

*2021-10-09, version 1.1.2*

I haven’t even been given the chance to use this app and I have to either pay or review it soo… here we are

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — good

*2026-01-15*

👍👍👍

### 5/5 — Good

*2024-12-09, version 1.1.2*

A really good app, I use this app all the time

### 5/5 — 📚 🧠

*2024-06-27, version 1.1.2*

still works great after all these years (even though, a quick lil update would be nice, though).

### 5/5 — Funktional! Sprache einstellbar 😃

*2023-09-29*

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2023-04-19, version 1.1.2*

Need more Apple like these, all of your apps are on point and just work as described. Only feature that needs adding to this app is the new watch os keyboard for series 8.

### 5/5 — Finally. An essential Apple Watch app

*2023-02-19, version 1.1.2*

Cracking app for quick, impromptu visits to Wikipedia when you don’t have your phone. The app is pretty damn slick & works really well on my Apple Watch 8.

*2023-01-20*

### 5/5 — ficar

*2022-10-03, version 1.1.2*
