## What is Minna no Guide?

Discover Japan without staring at your screen.

Minna no Guide is your personal audio tour guide. As you walk, ride, or drive, the app detects the sightseeing spots around you and automatically narrates an easy-to-understand audio guide — so you can keep your eyes on the scenery, not your phone.

HOW IT WORKS
Open the map, tap "Start Guide," and put your phone away. When you come close to a spot, the guide begins on its own. It even tells you which way to look — "on your right, just ahead" — based on the direction you're heading.

FEATURES
• Automatic audio guides triggered by your location — no searching, no tapping
• Over 8,000 spots across all of Japan
• Works in the background — keep the app closed or your screen off
• Plays the nearest spots in order when several are around you
• Color-coded map pins so you can see what's nearby at a glance
• Visit log — every place you've heard is saved; tap to listen again anytime
• Built-in text-to-speech with adjustable voice, speed, and pitch
• Polite with your audio — lowers music while speaking and steps aside for navigation and calls

CATEGORIES
Castles • Temples & Shrines • Parks • Food & Gourmet • Shops & Facilities • Hidden Backstreets

MULTIPLE LANGUAGES
Audio guides are available in English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. Choose your language in Settings.

PERFECT FOR
Travelers exploring Japan on foot, by bus, by train, or by car who want to learn the story behind the places they pass — effortlessly.

ABOUT LOCATION
The app uses your location only to find nearby spots and play their audio guides, including in the background so guides can start automatically. Your location is never used for advertising or sold to third parties.

• Fixed an issue where spots in a category you turned off in Settings were still guided or shown on the map.
• Fixed an issue where landmark pins could be missing from the map in areas with many restaurants.
• Coffee shops and Japanese sweets cafés are now categorized as Cafés.

### 1.5 — 2026-09-21

• Fixed an issue where the guide would not start on first launch even after allowing location access.

We hope you enjoy your journey with us.
