Looking through issues reported by other citizens in the app, so many of them are riddled with crazy typos. It wasn’t until I submitted my own stoplight issue that I realized the typos were caused by the app itself. The text I carefully reviewed and posted differed wildly from what was shown after submission. It seems to ignore certain modifications and autocomplete selections. For example, if I start typing “Xer” and choose the “Xerxes” autocomplete option, the text input box will correctly show “Xerxes”, but after publishing, it shows something like “Xerave”, mashing together the pre-autocomplete text with the next word I typed. I imagine this is very difficult for city staff to make sense of. ### 2/5 — Redundant form questions *2025-09-09, version 6.2.1* I would love to love this app, but the submission form is annoying to use with redundant fields and far too many required fields. There are two description text fields in addition to a “select an answer” sheet with prefilled options. Condensed this to one. I have to place a pin on the map to get to the form, why do you then ask for an intersection? I already gave you that info. You can probably pull it from an attached photo too. Why do you not use the date and time selector for those fields? Typing that from the standard keyboard is a lot harder than using the controls that were specifically made for date and time selection. ### 4/5 — Keep on MPLS. 💗 *2023-12-27, version 5.16.0* Running a city requires community involvement. I understand they’re overwhelmed with winter parking/snow emergency reports right now, but it seems like they ignore many critical safety violations people report, at least in my neighborhood. Almost makes reporting feel pointless because the issues will often go unresolved. ### 3/5 — Great Idea, Needs Improvements *2019-01-04, version 5.1.11* Transparency, accessibility, and communication—these are all qualities of a responsive and accountable government that could become a reality with an improved version of this app. I for one volunteer to be part of a focus group to give feedback. I have Cellular Data enabled and my home wireless network is working fine in other apps. Couple that with a lazy, uninterested city and you've got yourself a near worthless app. Worse part: there is no way to delete your account. The company behind this app only “deactivates” and explicitly details on their website that they will “continue to make publicly available all user-provided content indefinitely to their partners and third parties.” So there’s that for you. Thanks Minneapolis for keep an eye on citizens once again. ### 1/5 — Just use the SeeClickFix app *2018-08-08, version 4.7.0* This Minneapolis 311 app is just a flawed front end to the real app. With SeeClickFix, registration was easy and I logged my first report this morning with no issues.. and the patrol came and took care of the issue quick! Was torn up in the summer for some sort of sewer issue or something. We were left with a hole for several months. I decided it needed to be finished before the snow flies. So I downloaded the app and took out a ticket at 4:30 pm on a Wednesday. It pin pointed my location and let me describe the issue I was able to add a photo too. By 9:30 the next morning a crew was out filling in the hole. No more graffiti in my neighborhood! Everything I've reported has been resolved within 2 weeks, and usually a lot quicker than that. Can't say enough good things about the app! One annoying thing about the city is the distinction between city land and park land. For example If you use this app to report graffiti in a park it will be closed and won't be cleaned up. You need to email the park board to actually get that resolved.
